no prob..n u know that's the best thing yet..cuz even with my MDLP i gotta use soo many different discs to listen to books on 1 topic u know but hopefully with HI md i can download many books relating to 1 topic on one disc..(don't worry..i'll get to listen to them cuz i hear music/speeches 24 7...)

wish i had the time to fully help u.here's what go to minidisc.org...n look back in the history for posts to the site i think late 2002...u'll find some links towards hacking the mzr series...or u can check out the link to the service manuel. http://minidisc.org/manuals/sony/sony_mzr7...r700_manual.pdf .when something like that happened i had to reset everything....NOTE!! when in service mode..unless u pressed "pause" = save in service mode then nothing's really changed..and to exit service mode u should disconnect power or take out the battery.. :cool: good luck

yup i agree..but i guess sony don't want that to happen who knows..once that starts to happen MDs might take over err thing..haha...they probably don't want it competing with like memo sticks, cds n dvds??? but they know what they're doing right..i mean this things been out since 1992 n today it's still in it's toddler stages..look at pc hardware like hard drives..i mean 1 drive is like 250 gigs who would have thought..but Sony better watch out cuz flash hdd gonna take off for the portable n if price was an issue it won't be in a while...sony still got the lead on MB per buck..they should hear us lil ppl 4 once..hmm.....i wonder if they even cater that much for the English market...i mean have u ever noticed that most electronics arn't really designed according to our culture..but to those in the East..don't get me wrong we love em but..just think.. the bottons keep getting smaller n smaller..navigating them keeps geting more difficult....dem chineese n japanese fingers n hands smaller than ours true...check out how err one was like oh...X box controller was all clumsy..n what now it's one of the most comfortable huh :whatever:

yup it's the plastic thingy like in the construction of the MZ-R70 not no space to insert the disc..but think of this...i've had some MDS that i accidentally sat on n they're bent now when i slide them in n i just eject the stuff outa the unit the disc don't even pop out just above the unit so i can hold it u know i gotta stick my pinky in there n pull it out so altho having it work like the floppy mechanism's not a bad idea..i'd be in trouble..always having to hold a screew driver on me :smile: .... but it'd save on moving parts but what about the eject mechanism..what u think that'd b like..digital i'd hope not like that of the floppy drive or one of those old Sharp MDs i've seen that uses a leaver..they'll probably hook up something to their already slide eject buttons or something u think????

well...altho it's not Hi MD i'm not in the car audio field..it plays mds yes..i guess the reason they still bothering with it is cuz it's XM ready.. :cool: that should be cool...

NH900 4 me.. mainly 4 the pitch control...was thinking NH1 but the idea of relying on the remote..uhh..that's a scary thought at this moment..

speaking of which.. u know how u can manually increase ur recording level on MD units..n how sometimes u wanna beff up stuff that already sounds good...u know how the unit screams once it passes the recomended level like the lil line indicating how high the meter should reach.. wouldn't it b cool if that thing could be raised very high..without the distortion

I was struck with these questions ...i don't yet have a HI MD unit but i've read about peeps on the forum who have..ne who..if u can help me....since HI MD can hold both Data n audio....have u put both media on the discs yet? if so how can u tell what's on the discs can u view data titles on the disc? how can u tell how much recording time u have left..does it tell u in Size MB or in mins n sec..all from the unit....do u have an idea how the data is stored on the disc...like probably audio is written from the start of the disc n data from the back if that's logical...when u plug it into Sonic Stage...n the data on the disc is displayed..does it appear to be like data music data music..or data one place n music another...????..... i'm thinking then..if stuff is cumbersum on the disc then that's a lot of work for the lens constantly back n forth..jumping to the TOC probably n then runing back.to the location..if u get what i'm saying..i'd be thankful for ur input :grin: or they have some kinna disc defragmenter

hmm...excuse me sir..weren't u just asking for a way to link MD to ur present Cassette Deck....well if that's the case u can purchase 1 of those car ready MDs or buy one of those link thingy where u push in the cassette n plug the end of the cable to the sourse like the MZN 707 NET MD came car ready..haven't heard of ne HI MD car ready units yet.. :ohmy:

oh yeah i'm scratching my head again...hmm....while reading this "page" uhh. can't find the quote..uhh..but some1 wanted to know if different bit rates could b on a disc....well yah..i suppose so..if former MD Units could do it y go backwards ne who...i was reading this quality thing n i'm just thinking...it's hard to make some judgements...cuz yall using head phones...in i'm thinking ...y don't some one creat a headphone made for that kinna stuff..i mean a headphone using a direct link VIA..optical...LOL i haven't heard of ne yet if ne one have please direct me.. but doesn't that just sound cool..that way u know there's absolutely no loss of quality between ur plugs n head phones not only that but i 've done some testing myself..with my MDR G52 (collest tuffess headphones in the world)..n i had to squeeze them to my ear to hear it all..u know...so have u guys been using headphones that fits over ur ears cuz i'm sure u'd get better results....n just another lil idea..u know they got those digital uhh don't remember what u call them "ampmeter" or something they use to test electricity n what now some have this meter with a needle or the the digital meters..with 2 wires sticking out 1 red 1 black....blah u get the picture..i'm thinking they should create something to that extent again using optical..which can give a reading of the quality..in bit rate.. :grin: .. don't worry it's ok to let ur imagination run rampant..that's what this world been created on... :laugh:

No no no i think yall probably got this dude's Q wrong...i really believe he means if the MD can multitask 4 instance when we're ripping songs to our pc from cd say we using windows Media player...we all know that it can b ripping a track at the begining of the disc n play another near the end almost flawlessly...so my good guess is that he's wondering if the MD can do something to that sort am i right? ...ne who that wouldn't be such a bad idea..seeing that these things gonna be dubed portable HDD..so to speak. cuz it's not like flash mem cards where it seems u can only read n it put's out streams of data at a time...i'm hoping with the HI MD we can actually run applications offa the thing u know....but that would have to b one hell of a RPM that motor gotta b doing :smile: ...
