  1. Like I said, check out our 'phone forum, and perhaps the pinned topics at the top of such would be a good place to start.
  2. What a nice first post, kiryen! Welcome aboard.
  3. I haven't heard either unit, but I do know that any ES deck will have build quality and internal components that will outdo any lesser-model deck.
  4. It's great - I've had zero problems with it so far, and the new hard drive is blazing fast. I also just recieved the 6600GT, and it's really nice. It even has blue LED's which match my case. The only downside is my Chaintech AV710 sound card doesn't have 64-bit drivers. I'm desperately trying to get this resolved..
  5. Hey mate, that's the one I got her! It's in silver. I still need to teach her how to use Sonicstage for ATRAC cd burning. She definitely couldn't figure it out on her own.
  6. I agree wholeheartedly with your statements! Good for certain scenarios, I say.. What model number did you get? I just purchased one in January for my girl's birthday..
  7. Here's the static link for it. HERE.
  8. Well, I'm installing Windows XP 64-bit beta RC2 at work as I type this..that new hard drive is really nice. I'm a dolt, what can I say.. George Lucas seemed confident enough to do so.
  9. Easy Clocker, we're all friendly blokes here. You Aussies crack me up..
  10. That can play a big role in how the music sounds. Those aren't very good earphones, in fact, they are probably the reason why you're not satisified. Why not take a look at our 'phones forum and read some of the topics..
  11. The other night I decided it was a good idea to find better drivers for my nForce chipset on my motherboard, the K8N-E Deluxe. I find a set of beta drivers, uninstall my old set via Driver Cleaner 3 and install the beta. Great, everything is by the book and I do the necessary restart. Before I can get into the XP login screen, the computer reboots. I try safe mode, the same thing. Safe mode with networking, the same thing. Safe mode with command prompt, the same thing. Hrm - this one is a little hairy. Being an avid gamer, I had turned off system restore after the system's conception, so that's ruled out. I have no other options left that I wanted to pursue, like formatting as my girlfriend has a ton of personal stuff on the hard drive. I don't even have a floppy disk to employ that would let me play around in DOS. I can't install Windows again because I don't have the pirated version of Windows that I initally installed. Even so, my cd-rom drive is EXTERNAL, and this means I'll need to throw in a cd-rom drive to get going again [not hard, but damnit, a pain in the butt]. After breaking down, I call my co-worker and tell him my woes, and he purchases a new Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250gb serial ATA drive with 16mb cache [$150ish] for me. Wow. I'll pay him back of course. My plan is to install the new drive, and then install Windows XP 64-bit beta RC2. p.s. I also ordered a BFG 6600GT OC to replace my Radeon 9800XT that just died not too long ago spontaniously. Rest in peace, baby..
  12. Heh, it's okay. I would definitely recommend upgrading to Sonicstage 3. So, are you referring to tracks on your unit/discs and they aren't on the computer, and you wish to get them on the computer at 64kbps?
  13. It would be a worthwhile endeavor, but the most ideal way to market it is to sell it through an e-tailer, perhaps like Minidisco.com and also have us mention it on the front page of Minidisc.org.
  14. I'll also throw my hat in the ring towards Minidisco.com and Audiocubes.com. All of these e-tailers mentioned in this thread are the most ideal choices.
  15. Actually, it may be a firewall. Try turning it off temporarily and then launching SS.
  16. Siouxsie and the Banshees, lord help me.
  17. Nah, I was an Ericsson fan boy as well, but after sampling Motorola's somewhat higher-end offerings I'm an official convert. Who knows about Sonicstage though? Perhaps they'll adjust some things and make it play nice, and make AAC support a little more comfortable for the rest of us. It really doesn't make sense that they've dropped ATRAC support, considering it's one of the friendliest hardware codecs [i.e. battery life] around.
  18. I really have no answer for you, and contacting Sony about such matters will get most people nowhere, regardless of affiliation.
  19. Welcome..what kind of headphones are you using?
  20. They don't make them anymore, Irish. It was a limited variation of the 2002 TDK Bit Club and are extremely hard to find these days. I would reckon the only place that they would be available is select stores in Japan, and even that is questionable.
  21. Audio-Technica ATH-D1000 Check 'em out, really nice.
  22. You've seen the full Equipment Browser, right?
