Yes, that software is compatible with any Hi-MD unit, there is no regional requirement. Be sure to read the Sonicstage 3 help files before posting questions about that when they arise, btw. And also, in the future, please post new topics for questions you have instead of doing so in others, it kinda loses focus for the person who initally posted the topic [i.e. you wouldn't want someone to have a birthday party at your birthday party, no? ].

There's something wrong with your installation, that's definitely not normal preformance. I would post in the Software forum about this, matrulesok, and see if we can help you fix it. Syrius: Your experience is essentially how things have been for me since I started Hi-MD, and I have no doubt that those who lurk here and most of the members have had a carefree experience as well. The internet and this message board are always ripe with complaints because we're the only people who hear them out - whereas people don't run marathons to come say when they are happy with things. So, good for you.

The reason why it caps out at 320kbps is that's the maximum a Sony mp3 compatible device will handle. p.s. Thanks for the heads-up, indeego

Same as mmp64, minus the experience with HDD units. What headphones were you using, lame?

The D66's aren't something I'd wear out and about, and the Sennheiser PX200 would be a much more ideal phone for that purpose. Now, if you were able to control your listening enviroment whilst on the go, i.e. sitting on a park bench or etc for a while then the D66 would be good.

Yes, we didn't delete any posts. I got a scathing private message from another user who had thought we deleted threads. If you weren't there when it happened, the forum was down for a very long period of time and we lost about four days worth of posts in the process due to some woes with the SQL server. Everyone is free to repost the topics that they lost, and I most certainly apologize for the error.

There will probably be some downtime today to correct some outstanding errors with MySQL. No ETA yet - most likely evening time, but it wouldn't be a long downtime [less than 30mins]. p.s. kurisu is growing up, learning much about the world of *nix.

What version of Sonicstage? What OS? What DirectX version do you have? [go to start | run, type in "dxdiag"] What kind of video card?

I just want to say thanks again to Ishiiyoshi for such a good job on translating this piece. Definitely one of my favorite MD articles I've read - it's a shame that Sony US doesn't offer such featurettes like this, whereas Sony Japan really tries to paint a good image for Hi-/MD.

EDIT ON 4/20; THIS UNIT HAS BEEN RELEASED, MORE INFO HERE: http://www.minidisc.org/keep/sony_cmt-ah10.htm Reposted due to forum crash. A *.inf file [NETMD033.inf] in the latest Personal Audio drivers [drivers for some Hi-MD + NetMD] feature this gem: A CMT-AH10, eh? Oddly enough, that model does not exist. So, with such similar nomenclature as the other new *.mp3 compatible portable Hi-MD units, could this be the one for those of you looking for something stateside [or abroad] that can really play nice with Hi-MD? Imagine filling cd's with a ton of *.mp3's and making high speed dubs, or just using it via computer. Could ATRAC3plus really shine here? Will Sony continue it's good streak with another attractive facade? Older CMT bookshelfs are nice, let's take a look at a few from years back. [released 2003] The popular CMT-M333NT: [released 2001] CMT-C7NT [don't be fooled, had 20mW output + more]: Sadly though, no CMT in recent times has featured a optical out but the M333NT was a powerful bookshelf for it's time. Let's hope Sony really caters to Hi-MD enthusiasts and delivers.

Hi-MD is adventageous in the budget area amongst flash players and the like, but it seems as if it's not known well enough for it's recording capability [Hence why the gallery will host live recordings soon. ]. Then we travel further down the spiral of nicheness by introducing odd units like the DH10P, etc, now ever-changing compatibility and other randomness. So people come here and read our esoteric topics of "do this, do that" or "Sonicstage is a nightmare of inane proportions" and it can all be very confusing. Then you have HDD players which are simply drag and drop or some extremely simpleton endeavor. I say Hi-MD is for you if you have the time to learn the stuff we talk about and spend too much of our time on, because it is worth it for it's unique abilities; then again it's severely too odd to be a true winner amongst everything considered. Hi-MD isn't that bad, it is sorta not properly portrayed here and often the negative stuff overpopulates the good. I say go for it, you're here already posting this question, so you're looking for a reason. Take a leap, there's always a receipt..

*sniff* A user who knows how to search..you rock, ozpeter. Indeed, what version of Sonicstage? It was probably below 2.3/3.0, hence the loss..
-
Thanks for understanding, guys. As for the last four hours [and why it was down], let's just say that our hosting company is a little silly. Nothing crashed though, and nothing was lost - so don't worry.

Interesting..how's the encoding times?

Long story short: SQL is having some problems, we're okay now, but still need to do some work on it to assure this doesn't happen again. I had to restore the whole board to March 29th, 2005. We lost a few days here, but it happens. Thank you for your understanding and thank you for being patient. p.s. Automatic backups for each day will go into effect tonight.

You could always transfer tracks in realtime with a optical cable [and a sound card with optical out].
-
I have FTP access again, finally. Things will be changing for the better soon.
-
You can use either the cradle or the unit itself, I believe.
-
Definitely newsworthy. Those actual DH10P cam shots are nice.
-
Good idea! It's always wise to try before you buy. I don't think you'll be disappointed. What didn't you like about Sonicstage? It's kinda worthless to test it without a unit..
-
Doh, that's what you get for posting at late hours.

Some regular MD discs with recordings of my girlfriend and I [not doing anything naughty, just being in love], and some recordings of my friends and I from High School. Those discs are some of the most valuable things in the world to me, and it wouldn't have been possible without MD.

You've got all the latest Windows Updates, right?

Welcome. It's not a Sonicstage problem. http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applicatio...Q_20789795.html

I can't help you because I'm on a 64-bit operating system, which only accepts 64-bit drivers. Anyone else?
