  1. I just wanted to note that the Webmaster is very interested in my idea about storing live recordings for some of you folk when we migrate to the new server [which will be very soon]. So, expect more on this towards the end of the month.
  2. Sonicstage 2.3 is pretty good. It's not anything I'm ranting and raving about, but there's certainly alot of potential there. It's hard to say something constructive about a turd, you know.. Just kidding, but seriously, I haven't had a crash yet and the transfer times are very agreeable. So it's alright in my book.
  3. The server migration shall occur within the next week or two. It will be finally nice to never have lag on this forum again, espesically at times like these [peak hour 3-5pm EST]. Please be patient dear forum users.
  4. You have created four topics for this question. Never again. One topic per question please.
  5. Does this mean the shortage is over? What if this year is when Hi-MD's are commonplace? Could it bring greater success? Is it possible with the second generation that with the upcoming news things could really grow further Or are we doomed to our demise from Sonicstage..or the write speeds? In your thoughts, summarize the birthyear of Hi-MD, and what you think could occur in '05.
  6. Another thing I hate about charging high capacity batteries is the way the gain weight. Ever get a fat battery after charging? Annoying.
  7. I'll be moving this to the Hi-MD forum, but let me address a few things. Welcome to the forums, and thanks for a very well-rounded first post. I look forward to more from you. Now, let's get down to business. The RF filters are to eliminate interference from a hypothetical poorly built outlet. These can also be a godsend in live recording situations whilst using the AC adapter. Additionally, please do not use that NH-10WM battery - read my Hi-MD battery faq. Plus, have you considered a gumstick charger? That way, you don't have to worry about charging via the unit. The Sony BC-7HT is good for this, but there are many other alternatives. I couldn't agree more. I thought you could charge AC to unit only? Are you sure you hit "Stop" to initate charge? Agreed. Why? What else do you need to see? Sorta agreed, but you must remember that this decrease the battery life quite a bit. I agree 1000% on this one. Why don't you just use the ATRAC3 bitrates? They're freely encoded in Sonicstage 2.#.
  8. From slashdot: http://slashdot.org/articles/05/01/06/004226.shtml The end of an era.
  9. Yes, of course. You can always donate to us at the paypal address I've listed. We definitely have to upgrade the server soon, though - so if you want your money to go towards that then if you could get it in on the 7th that would be great.
  10. At the moment, Radiohead, Amnesiac Queen, Greatest Hits Metallica, Master of Puppets Bjork, Post A Perfect Circle, The thirteenth step ..but I'm leaving so much out.
  11. Welcome to the forums, mate. Why don't you just try ATRAC3 132kbps?
  12. Okay, tomorrow [Jan 6th] will be the last day for donations. I appreciate your time.
  13. Did you try allofmp3? My girlfriend uses it all the time, and the fees are really cheap.
  14. Hi, This is a stock feature that came with the forums. I have not turned it off yet, but I will because there's more important things for me to code and tweak first. If things do grow here a bit, I will consider a higher class membership with some interesting benefits, but at this time, just ignore it.
  15. ROFL, are you talking about Super Monkey Ball? That game is the best when you're pissed..
  16. This topic will help you: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7073
  17. It will intelligently charge, but I wuld advise not charging them in the unit and use an external charger. I explain why a bit in here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7423
  18. I've completely dropped Outlook Express in favor of Thunderbird..are you using Outlook or Outlook Express? Outlook is still a pretty strong suite, but when Mozilla wraps the Thunderbird and Sunbird applications together it's going to be a very attractive option for such purposes.
  19. To some people, the difference is very apparent. I would suggest going for an american/world unit. A good place to buy is Minidisco, etronics.com, bluetin.com, teamdigitial.net, and more.
  20. Thank you, I shall fix this later. Here is the topic in question: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6330
  21. Try Ad-Aware for me as well. I have found it to be more successful than Spybot.
  22. Funny, I just noticed that my NH900 JE was made in Malaysia. Go figure.
