Xispe raises a good point. Your transcoding ATRAC from ATRAC. Ew.

To put it lightly, we got hit by a Tsunami here at the forums. It's hard to tell where the problem originated from, but initally the whole forum was delivering blank web pages. This is not good. Daijoubu and I walked through some things and it seems to have originated from the Catagories Hiearchy mod. This is the modification that allows one to have subforums. As you can see, some of the subforums are lost. The only backup I had was on a USB thumbdrive, which was destroyed a few days ago in the wash. The prior backup I have is approaching a year old and is pretty worthless. I was able to grab a significant chunk of the missing threads from Google's cache, but things here have certainly taken a considerable blow. Only the subforums were affected, not the main ones. Anyway, the forum is back up now, and seems a decent speed, but there's alot of work to be done and I'm glad that the forum is here for the most part. Bear with me and I'll get this place back to normal.

It's because of the worm attack. It has not stopped [basically, ddos attack] and I am seeking solutions to try and correct the issue. You'll just have to be patient until we can return things back to normal. Thank you for your patience.

Hrm, I was asking as some models in Europe are capped, but this is not relevant since you live in NYC. I find it hard to believe that 30/30 isn't loud enough for you, as I can't even ascend past 20-25ish without discomfort. Are you sure that the headphones are plugged in all the way? What are the $150 headphones you mention? Have you tried ripping a track with Sonicstage in Hi-SP to see if there is any difference? Something is clearly wrong in your configuration.
-
It would probably be best to do your own comparison with Hi-SP ripped via the PC and Hi-SP ripped in realtime with your DVD/optical connection. Hi-SP is the best way to record cd's in the storage consumption + best overall sound sense.

Just to clarify a few things

Be sure to upgrade to Sonicstage 2.3, Skradgee. -
Sorry mate, this unit does not have a radio. Beautiful unit, nonetheless. I would wait though, as the second generation of Hi-MD is looming on the horizon and could bring more goodies to choose from.

Perhaps it's the motherboard you're employing. Most newer generation motherboards [nForce 3/etc and beyond] can boot straight from USB devices.

You just have to experiment - Start with all the sliders set flat, so that the EQ is not affecting your sound. Then make minor adjustments to the appropriate frequencies that are missing or are too strong. For example, if your vocals are not coming through clearly, boost some of the middle frequencies a little. Or maybe the vocals aren't clear because the highs are too piercing. In this case, attenuate some of the higher frequency bands a little. And instead of boosting the low frequencies all the way up (and we've all been tempted), try bringing them up just a little bit, while lowering the mids and highs a touch — you'll get more effective gain out of your system that way (and you won't fry your 'phones). The great thing about having an equalizer is that you can change the sound of your music quickly and easily to match your mood.

This shouldn't be happening. Does it occur every time you run? Have you tried a different disc, a fresh battery, etc?

Newsgroups are awesome, and as I work for an ISP I cannot believe how more people do not employ it compared to P2P programs.

Hi, I thought this would be a neat way to share with the rest of the world what we keep on our Hi-MD discs. You can reply to this as many times as you want, but the format must be as forthcoming:

Wow, very nice. I've seen it before, but I now have it in my room. This all started when I purchased a 27' hdtv-ready CRT for my girl for Christmas [i paid less than the linked price], which is probably a present that will benefit her more than myself [honest! ]. Regardless, I was able to get a free hdtv cable box upgrade since I work for a cable company. They gave me a Motorola box that has firewire, USB, optical digital out, component out, s-video, dvi, DOCSIS 1.0 / 1.1 capable integrated cable modem and more. Talk about living in the 21st century! I'm currently using component cables [wow], and the quality of the hdtv programming is stunning. I'll sometimes switch to a 16:9 aspect ratio, but I usually keep it on 4:3 for usual viewing. Everything is so crisp and clear it's really fantastic - and sports look so good I actually find myself watching them, even if I don't have interest in the game. It's definitely going to be slick when hdtv becomes the standard in the US during 2006. Could higher resolution television and beyond make us into drones? Sure seems so. p.s. this is the box I have: http://www.google.com/search?q=DCT6200

Referring to this? That's such a silly thing to worry about, unless you're doing P2P sharing - which I hope that few of you delve into as the list of fallacies that result from such are so long I'd break the buffer. Otherwise, you'd never realize the difference between being capped or not. The real reason why Microsoft did this is because having a high allowance for half-open TCP connections is leaving you very vulnerable to SYN based attacks [additional info]. I'm glad that they've limited it, and additionally, did you know that a half open connection can stay "alive" for more than ten minutes? Nonetheless, the program incompatibility portion of SP2 has been blown out of preportion by Anti-Microsoft helions. What programs do you employ commonly, A440? Most don't have issues with SP2 anymore, and if so, patches exist for them to play nice. Additionally, SP2 includes updates to the JET database [v.4], MDAC, and many other crucial components relevant to the best possible Sonicstage experience. I've run SP2 now for months and have never looked back.

What v. of Sonic Stage supports transfer via Totalrecorder?
Christopher replied to mmilovan's topic in Software
Welcome to the club! Any version of Sonicstage 2 will do. Go ahead and use 2.3. Additionally, I would try out the *.wav converter by Marcnet or Sony's utility. Both are very nice. -
Go to Control Panel | System | and it should say under the general tab. Here's a manual link to SP2: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en
-
Do you have service pack 2, daiv?
-
John, where abouts in the world are you located?
-
State your system specs. Are you plugged into a usb hub, btw?
-
Yes, and you can also run programs from the Hi-MD unit as well. Works just like any USB thumbdrive. Five minutes per cd for Hi-SP rips, if you find that to be a long time then yes, another device may be ideal for you.

Christopher replied to ayekeramba's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Welcome to the forums. :welcome: 1. You can also use Simple Burner. It's a very handy utility for CD rips and the like. 2. This is different for everyone. You can always download Sonicstage 2.3 from connect.com and make some Hi-SP/etc songs. 3. Compared to what? 4. Doubt it. To be honest, Sonicstage 2.3 isn't really that bad. I haven't had any crashes, it takes little time to transfer songs and things seem pretty smooth.
