  1. Aeriyn, when I read posts like these from you I know that you're a true asset to the forums - and it gives my spamming fingers a break.
  2. Welcome to the forums. What's the maximum budget?
  3. ..and this cannot be done with a disc that was recorded with a standard MD/NetMD unit, or NetMD mode. USB playback is only available [afaik] for Hi-MD formatted MD discs or Hi-MD discs.
  4. Welcome.. Colin, we understand you're disappointed, but the woes revolving the uploading feature have been discussed to death here, the main minidisc.org news page, and the minidisc t-board. If you've neglected to do your homework before investing $400CAD then who's real fault is it? I would suggest you at least try recording anew on a Hi-MD disc or a MD converted into Hi-MD mode. You can upload those tracks via USB playback and facilitate the recording through TotalRecorder, Audacity, or Adobe Audition - many of the forum's users have had great success with this. PCM + 256kbps ATRAC3plus are very nice recording options that give you decent flexibility.
  5. That's very odd. I've never heard of regional backlit/non-backlit differences..
  6. Oh, of course there is. I've heard it summarized well from others, although the general consensus about these HD amps is conflicting..I need to get a NH900, but I am forced to buy computer. Baaaaaaah
  7. From cnn [here]: That's horrible. I imagine France will have some sort of Air Conditioning standard in place by that time so people won't die off during a winter heatwave.
  8. Alot of these questions have been answered before, but I'll go ahead and answer them for you. I suggest you may want to refer to minidisc.org's hi-md faq and also various topics on this forum [via search]. You cannot play mp3 tracks on this unit without converting them to ATRAC3/plus first via Sonicstage, or the usual recording process via the digital in and analog/mic in on the unit [if it has such]. Copying data is another story, as it is read as a "mass storage device" and you can do simple drag n' drop operations. The music conversion process is pretty easy and doesn't take too long compared to the days of the old. Welcome to the forums, too.
  9. vova, what kind of headphones are you using?
  10. Erk, my fault. Please leave a reply here before you order, though.
  11. I apologize for taking so long to get back to this, I just finally was able to scope out my hard drive that contained the picture you sent me [been having some computer woes lately, wrote about it in the etc forum]. This is a hard choice, because it is a small area to work with and also you want something to semi-match the look you have in your room. Well, after an extensive search I couldn't find anything easily purchaseable online that has a MD interface and an alarm clock. Doh..if you still want a MD boombox though I can definitely make tons of recommendations. Maybe you could get a really nice boombox and a $2 alarm clock.
  12. I noticed on the T-Board that you were able to sign up with them. Your spam filter seemed to be the issue, eh? Did you already order from them?
  13. Thanks for the suggestion. Now when you say inbetween posts, do you mean the dark grey divider line? ..and about the other template "going halfway off the screen", could you take a screenshot and e-mail it to me?
  14. This is troubling. I would suggest e-mailing admin@audiocubes.com with what product your interested in, along with that forums.minidisc.org was the affiliate. I would still suggest you go with them - they must be having some temporary woes.
  15. I've seen a fair number of NH1 remote pictures and it just doesn't seem to be bright enough in my eyes - what a terrible mistake for Sony to make considering the bright [ha!] past/success of their previous backlit remotes. Obviously the difference is only $10 right now TSpyrison [i would act quick if I were you], so it's really a choice between the NH900 and NH1. The strengths of each have been perfectly outlined, so it's really your choice now. The NHF800 isn't worth it when you've got the higher-ends in mind - the only reason I would absolutely consider it is if that's all you could afford or if you were really bent on the radio remote.
  16. Rumz, I'd love to hear more of your impressions of the NH1; I feel you're one of the only opinions around here [or t-board] that I seemingly agree with very often.
  17. Really? Search around and look at some IRL shots of it. Doesn't look too bad at night. It's the only one my girl and I could agree on, though. Eep, I didn't even mention your name once! Well, I really appreciate all the help you gave me and you know when I'm back to fraggin' you'll be in my thoughts. I'm still getting that Antec PSU, I just don't want the PSU that comes with the Aspire case. I'll probably sell it locally or something like that. Thanks for the tip, I value your words. Any other recommendations? My girl likes the lights and stuff.
  18. Thanks crazey, but my girl wasn't too keen on either [although they have some crazy ass cases in that second link]. The possibilities with this new mobo/processor are pretty good. It's not the best system in the world but it's definitely going to do very well in the games I play. I think I decided on a case: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-144-026&depa=0 Any comments on my soon-to-be rig? I'd love some feedback. p.s. Cori, I might go with a Raidmax, too..they have some really slick stuff.
  19. Definitely definitely definitely look at the dvd re/writeables on newegg.com! Usually the reviews are dead-on and the prices are unbelieveable. You'll probably end up buying from them.
  20. lol  He's traveling alot these days, and I don't even think he's at home. Does anyone ever get annoyed with the lack of Administration there? It's sad.
  21. That remote is only compatible with the unit it came with, and will not provide FM/AM/TV functionality with the NH600.
  22. - whenever they go down, people always come here and gripe about it like we're some sort of standby forum. :rasp:
  23. I think that I'm going to get this [i'm just going to throw everything else that's necessary from my old config as that's all ok]: - ASUS "K8N-E Deluxe" NVIDIA nForce3 Chipset Motherboard For AMD Socket 754 - AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 512KB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor - Antec 430W Power Supply, Model "TRUE430" ..but now I need a case - and I'm having alot of trouble deciding which one. Any recommendations? I don't want to do more than $50 - $75.
