There's a very strong possibility, but nothing definite yet. I think it's going to happen, though..but it'll probably be released with Vaio computers only.

I wish Sony would not sell NetMD units without an AC adapter..seriously one of the stupidest marketing moves ever. Good for the battery companies, I guess. :rasp:

If you live in the US or can find a retailer that will ship internationally [if necessary], do yourself a favor and get one of the best valued soundcards on the internet today! I'm just about to order one, myself. It's called the Chaintech AV-710. For a mere ~$30ish, you get: * PCI 2.2 I/F with bus mastering and burst modes * 24-bit resolution audio format support * Sampling rates up to 192KHz * Supports Mic In / Line In / 4 Line outs & Digital Optical output * 2 separate CD audio stereo inputs * ACPI and PCI PMI support * Windows WDM drivers * Dimension:120mm x 106mm ..and more! This little gem is buzzing around the audio communities and I thought I'd share. You can find e-tailers and prices here: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=av-710...ab=if&scoring=p Here's a mini-review I leeched off Head-Fi [click here for the original review]:

Try Sonicstage 2, only after uninstalling everything via the directions in the NetMD faq [registry edits and all].

Check the threads in the NetMD forum.

Welcome, MB. Get a Hi-MD unit; they can record on 1 gigabyte discs and upload digitally through USB. They're priced around the same as higher-end NetMD units.. Perhaps you should look into the NH800 or the NH900? Seems like a good recommendation for this scenario.. p.s. Moving this to the relevant forum.

You can digitally upload with a deck; purchase a Chaintech AV-710 soundcard with digital in/out [they only cost like $35], and get a deck with digital out. Sync the deck to your computer and upload the tracks. You may have to chop the tracks up [sometimes you don't have to] but that's not really a big deal and wouldn't take too long. That's the only way you'll be able to digitally upload to a computer. NetMD cannot facilitate anything upload related.

It's free, and if you have issues just download iceeedtea's build from the NetMD forum.

Welcome.. Yeah, I think it's worth it. It'd be a better idea to invest in a higher-end unit as the lesser-valued ones seemingly have more issues [of course, this isn't true in all situations].. The real key to all this is keeping care of your unit; avoiding "drops", keeping it dust free periodically, etc etc. The more you "baby" it, the longer it'll live. I'd expect at least 3 - 5 years with proper care, but that's subject to change if you use it excessively [i.e. the recording or playback head could wear out].

Welcome. Possibly, but I would assume there would be limited functionality since the remote in question doesn't feature all the options that the MC34LT does, and I'm not referring to the radio aspect. I forgot what buttons were on the MC11EL, but I do know that the basic functions will work.

How do you make Hi-LP recordings from Atrac3 files

Linear PCM recording...Anyone tested this functionality yet?
Christopher replied to DigitalSound's topic in Minidisc
You won't get an answer out of anyone until the higher-end units come out.. -
Difference between MZNH900 and 800? Just the radio?

That's correct. -

Hi, You looked at our equipment browser, right? NH900: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NH900.html NH800: http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NHF800.html I think we've discussed this before, too..search for me. -
This stuff isn't too difficult, I promise. Welcome.. Anyway, when you installed Sonicstage 2, did you uninstall Sonicstage 1.5 appropriately [as per the directions in the NetMD FAQ thread]? If not, uninstall via the aforementioned directions and install Sonicstage 2 only. Tell me what's up after that..

I forgot to mention - I added some avatars to the avatar gallery. I'll add some more in a little while. Anyway, I've noticed the forums get pretty slow around 2 - maybe 6ish pm [EST]. We're on a shared server with minidisc.org, and the hit increase these days are higher than ever. It's nicer to surf this forum in the afterhours, methinks..

I had considered this, and I may make appropriate changes. For now though, if you are questioning such things..take a look above the login/logout and you'll see a register button. If you see such a button you're logged out.

Forums are actually not as bad as they used to be, it's really dependant on the connection and the server that minidisc.org uses - it's pretty outdated and old. We'll be upgrading eventually [hopefully], and one definite way to speed this process is through affiliate sales. Statistics are at the bottom of the page now, you can't miss it. btw - the default skin wouldn't be the blue one, it'd still be this one. I think this template is the best for the eyes and it'll be a long time before it's something else as default. You could have the choice of using the blue, as it won't be default.

Made another style change, this time pertaining to the buttons underneath the banner. I'm still contemplating on how I want this to look, so if things change around a bit up there bear with me. I think you guys are used to me tweaking this forum obsessively, anyways. Tonight, I am also going to integrate a new look to the tables that will have a fade effect. This will effect the post listings, forum listings and others. Hopefully, if all goes well, that will be the final action I take for this template. I've been working modding a template so we can have another choice for users here, and I'll go ahead and show you a preview: http://demo.phpbbstyles.com/index.php?style=27 [obviously the server is not of my own, but this is what the new template will look like, with a few modifications of course ] Do you guys like that style?

Cowboy Bebop OST. Anyway, sorry to hear of your troubles, but it looks like you may have found success at the end. Is it still working? -
Welcome. Nope, it's one hundred percent impossible. Hi-MD will be able to burn PCM [*.wav] tracks to Hi-MD discs, though..
