I'm thinking that Sony may NOT release them this year and flood the market again early next year, like the last. Who knows, it's all speculation.

Definitely 910, for battery life and amp. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Well, it's been a while and the people that expressed interest before cannot come through. $100 US [shipped] for this MDLP-compatible unit, or headphones/md item that is of equal value! The MZ-E505 is a somewhat rare unit, and features solid sound/features that makes you wonder why it's a 5**-series player. Here's some eye-candy: [with charging stand] [just a little taller than three discs] Package includes: gumstick battery + AA attachment case for longer battery life, charging stand [pictured above], NO manual [i can provide a link to a *.pdf version], aftermarket Sony 3v charger [very slim, and costs at least $30 anywhere], and a clear [you can see the internals!] Sony RM-Z2S backlit LCD remote [can provice pictures]. I'll even throw in a rare old Sony MD pouch. Click on me for the specs of the unit. + it's 5mW to those who are curious. Send me a private message or e-mail me at kurisu@thetruth.com if you're interested.

I've been through numerous X-Ray machines in airports across the world with a Minidisc player and haven't experienced any problems whatsoever.
-
Should've done your homework before you bought the unit, friend. There is no check-in/upload on any current NetMD Minidisc players. You may purchase a deck with a digital out, and connect it to a source that allows a digital in to do true digital MD uploads.
-
Actually, those remotes are available at http://www.audiocubes.com [check out the accessories section, and then remotes]. Keep in mind that those remotes are costly, and most likely only compatible with the unit it came with.

I really like Sharp's recording abilities opposed to Sony.

Is it worth it to get DR8 or DR400 or should I go 2nd hand?
Christopher replied to a topic in Minidisc
I second Maj's recommendation of the DR7, but if you wait a month or two you may notice the price will most likely decrease. -
Yes, your unit will support MD's you record as long as they're in SP format, as it doesn't have MDLP and cannot read LP2 and LP4. The music that you will hypothetically burn with a newer ATRAC-coding unit in SP mode will be readable in the deck.

This problem sounds like it's hardware. You may want to consider sending it to Sony if it's still under warranty..

Spilt drink on MD player - HELP!!!
Christopher replied to markcoop's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
It's done. :/ -
Minidisco.com is good, but I'll have to throw in a vote for audiocubes.com as well. Sharp portables are the best for quality, and I've heard good things about Kenwood portables as well. As for headphones, I would consider anything in the 'eggo' line most excellent. I can give you more headphone recommendations if you desire. Good luck.

Without the capability to handle a remote [once you expierience a backlit remote, you NEVER go back] or the ability to record with a microphone, it not very valuable to me. But that's me, because sometimes I like to record me + my friends for memories and to have a remote makes it much easier to operate [and reduces stress on the buttons; sony portables are notorious for buttons going arwy after consistant use]. Whilst the unit can be hacked, most of the functions accessible from the hack aren't available due to the lack of remote support. Everything else about the unit is nice, and it has a decent battery life. $50 - $75 tops. You had a straightforward deal. -

I have a MDLP-compatible MZ-R700 for sale, go to this link to check it out. http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread....&threadid=17216

The sites you listed above are probably the cream of the crop, and you may want to consider eBay.
-
MDR-D22 eggo is small, believe me! I think that the D22 would probably best suit you, but after you purchase it you'll want the D66.
-
Yes, I would suggest that you look into investing in a better set of headphones.
