This is not an update. It's an ISO of the version number listed. 1.0.03 is still the latest.

I saw pretty much everything about these at CES. If you guys want some more info and pictures I can throw down.

I like to play SSX, but you can surely develop some wicked problems with your hands (carpal tunnel or something) after a while. Ridge Racer is solid, Hot Shots Golf, Metal Gear Acid, etc

Crossed the 29,000 threshold today..ever closer to 30k. Wow, how weird. -
In 1999, an amendment to the Copyright Act allowing Canadian citizens to copy music onto blank media for personal use without breaking copyright laws brought forth taxes on blank media. 65,000 Musicians benefit from this collectively, and this year 27.6 million was distributed accordingly. The levies are 21 cents on each blank CD, 29 cents per audio tape and 77 cents per Minidisc. Ouch..

That's really cool, rich. I have Windows Mobile on my MPX220 Smartphone and I find it pretty keen for portable use, and hacks are abundant. Can you take some pics of this, possibly of general operation and so forth? Is the camera quality better or worse than the DH10P? Can you type quickly with it as well? Don't forget to download Opera Mobile!

Wait a couple of months till Blue Ray is out, 50GB dual layer disc will do you swell. Otherwise, grab a HDD..

Yes, what're your thoughts on the sound? Nice pics, nonetheless..

Anyone try searching the registry or whatnot for SSAAD references?

I have solved this issue.

Best Security Solutions for your Computer in 2006

What anti-virus do you have? -
I don't believe there is any true mechanical issue that would arise from employing a flash unit at such heights, but I do know that during flight most airlines ask you to turn off all electronic devices until the plane reaches 10,000 feet..dunno why really, how could a simple mp3 player generate enough interferance to take down a jet?

They're going to bolt on the functionality. I'm not sure how fluid it will be, but something tells me they are doing this to ensure they can actually drop the product in the USA before the next product lifecycle occurs.

What's the sting? They are implementing all of the features that make the NW-A series work with Connect Player into Sonicstage, which will undoubtedly be a better experience. Yes, you'll have to re-do your library but I would after experiencing both programs.
-
I think that it's not worth it to buy a NW-HD5 at this point unless it can be scored for cheap. After playing with the NW-A3000 and NW-A1000 at CES it is truly a better hardware experience than the HD5. Once they integrate the new Walkman features in Sonicstage (soon), it will be an optimal experience.

Got and Ipod Video.. Hate it... Sony please save me!
Christopher replied to stevester162000's question in Audio
Wait till the PS3 comes out, it is going to be an absolutely unbelieveable change in the course of Sony's future. You should've seen the huddled masses at CES, people flock to even the demos like flies on shit. -
A Guide to Sony Network WALKMAN & Discman Remotes
Christopher replied to NoOneHome's question in Audio
I'm sure that there is emphasis on that remote model not only because of the compatibility but also to spur accessory sales. People are most likely initally doubtful as to if the remote is compatible. I prefer the 40ELK myself. -

Well, after working more than two years now at a cable ISP and almost 4,000 calls under my belt, one quickly realizes which anti-virus and antispyware works, and what doesn't.. Nonetheless, my recommendations for an ultrasecure Internet experience in 2006 are: Anti-Virus (in order of best to semi-favorite) - NOD32: The anti-virus on all of my personal PC's. Updates for the anti-virus definitions come automatically from NOD32 at least twice or more a day! I have found numerous viruses with this program that Norton, McAfee and many others never detected. The user interface is decent, but if you're a true novice then I'd be a little weary. Furthermore, it consumes the least system resources out of all anti-virus programs I've tested -- I can play a game like Battlefield 2 at max settings (full AA, AF, etc.) with no lag whatsoever. Paid, yearly. - Trendmicro Trendmicro is starting to become a love/hate relationship with my observations. They were once my favorite anti-virus of all, but it seems like they have grown too fast. I still recommend the excellent free anti-virus web-app Housecall for those who don't have anti-virus and don't want an application running all the time. Their desktop suite is reminescent of Norton during the mid to late 90's before it became bloatware. I would say this is the most user-friendly application out of my recommendations and overall a pretty well-rounded anti-virus. Paid, yearly. - AVG Free AVG Free is an amazing offering -- a totally free, efficient anti-virus suite. The user interface is a little clunky and elementary, but most people (young or old) don't have a problem using it. Updates come somewhat often, but I would consider it to be the least secure in that sense out of the three listed here. Intel recently bought out the company that makes this software, so it is difficult to forsee how long this application will remain free. Definitely do not overlook this if you need a free anti-virus. Free, unlimited. - Kaspersky Not sure about this one yet, but it's up there. I'd have to say its probably inbetween NOD32 and Trendmicro. Norton, McAfee and anything else are not worth your time. I promise you -- I know how everything else performs, and if you're not using one of the above four I've recommended your simply not safe. I cannot even tell you how many times I've had a customer who employed Norton, McAfee or whatever call back after I had them uninstall such and use one of the aforementioned applications I've recommended and thank me wholeheartedly. ---------- Anti-spyware - Ad-Aware Still my favorite anti-spyware application of all time because of the quick scanning speed, free updates, and overall good results. I think that this application is absolutely necessary for anyone with a PC on the Internet. I don't have enough words for this application -- just download it and you'll see. Free, unlimited. - Microsoft Antispyware I really like this application because of a few things: tight integration with Windows that doesn't produce too much memory consumption (although it does introduce a service that will run on your computer all the time if certain settings are enabled -- yuck) and the PeerNet feature, which allows a 'hive mind' type scenario with spyware discovery. If a user finds a new piece of spyware and Microsoft deems it as such, everyone else who runs the program is automatically protected against it (brilliant). I have seen spyware and adware found with this application that Ad-Aware could not detect. Free, unlimited. Spybot is overrated, and anything else will probably do nothing more than install more adware or spyware on your PC. Stick with the above two and you'll be fine. ---------- Firewall - Hardware Router There is a good article at smallbusinesscomputing.com that gives reasoning as to why a hardware router (firewall) should be considered. I don't agree that you should have a software and hardware router, that is a bit redundant in my opinion. If you tune the hardware right, software isn't necessary. Linksys is a good brand for beginners, and advanced users can employ 3rd party firmware for enhanced flexibility. - Dedicated Linux Box Do a couple of Google searches and you'll see why a dedicated Linux box on your network acting as a firewall is the ultimate Internet security measure. This is a good start for the novice. ---------- Internet Browser Please, do not use Internet Explorer! It is unbelieveable to me to see how many people still rely on this completely outdated and insecure web browser. I know its fallacies from two perspectives: one who crafts websites, and one who helps people get online and keep their PC secure. Internet Explorer is one of the worst browsers to use to have an optimal experience viewing websites (it is not up to current standards), and security wise I could speak volumes. If you really want to make a difference, switch to something such as Mozilla Firefox or Opera; both are free!

No, the forum was upgraded to Invision 2.1.4, which corrected the issue.

That was my own personal addendum, from other information I've come across..heh.

ATRACLife reports on an interesting move by Sony regarding the Connect service -- it appears to be moving back to Japan amidst failure. The article goes on to note, "Analysts have said Sony has been hampered in part by the different goals of different divisions, such as the desire of the content companies to protect their music and movies from piracy, and the electronics division's stake in technologies such as the MiniDisc and the Memory Stick." Is this the end of Connect Player? Will Sonicstage be reincarnated?+++ Full text of article:

Can I slow down the USB transfer rate with Sonic Stage/Simple Burner?
Christopher replied to Superbaldguy's topic in Software
Restart your computer, do a control alt delete and choose the processes tab. Make sure the highest memory consuming processes are at the top (by clicking on the "Mem Usage" subtab) and take a screenshot.
