You don't have to have it copy the files to your hard drive, this can be defeated in the options. As for the slow startup, there's alot of factors that can influence this but on most modern-age computers it will start up steadfast.

You know what's hilarious? This occurs with even the new 'Connect Player'. Alot of variables can cause this, ranging from viruses or other processes on the computer consuming resources, the stability of the soruce file, and even vbr mp3's are finnicky. I would consider "d." to be mostly to be something induced by the user's configuration.

What model do you have? How are you putting your music (what software) onto the discs?

I agree Ishii -- my lips and the area around it are constantly chapped! I wish that it was spring time already, it gets too harsh here steadfast. And to top it off, we have another storm hitting us today/tomorrow.

Japanese citizens are more into Minidisc -- it's the strongest market for MD, period; Sony recognizes this accordingly and caters to them in the best capacity possible. Europe, MD's second strongest market, still usually has better packages than North America and elsewhere around the world aside from the volume output limitation. Nonetheless, Japan Direct is a nice place, but Audiocubes is probably a better outlet for this unit. Why not order from Minidisc Canada, danny?

We need a beer topic -- Volta can be our keen insight to the wonderful world of Euro brews. Americans really just can't do it right. I'd have to say I'm a Weinstephan or Guinness (draft) man myself.. As for Christmas, I'll be with my girlfriend's family this year, most likely the last time I'll be with all of them for quite a while as I will finally be moving back to Georgia during mid '06. It'll be nice, but at the same time there seems to be a good bit of interfamily dramatics brewing so I'm not so sure if I'm ready to deal with this additional stress during a time that should be joyful.
