There's alot of fallacies within MD, and even Hi-MD that are not very forward-looking for Sony at this point. It's true, all software should do this and I believe should do it automatically. Nonetheless, you'll be elated to know () that the software that is replacing Sonicstage has both of the aforementioned abilities. I don't believe this will ever occur for Sonicstage as it seems like development is straying from it.

I sent you a PM with an offline installer for 3.2. Also, make sure that you've run the MDAC tool. Are you able to uninstall and reinstall SP2? It's worth a shot.

It was always known that the NW-A units would have the ability to play back WMA files, but only after a firmware upgrade. It's like the PSP, it comes out of the box at 233mhz, but is really capable of 333mhz -- or comes enabled as 802.11b, but can actually do 11b+g -- both of which will be unlocked eventually after a firmware upgrade.
