All you should have to do is get an adapter so it fits your respective plugs. Those are available at places that sell electronic store and places that specialize in travel.

NH600D sounds like a good ticket. You could get all her music in ATRAC format, on a few 1GB discs depending on quality. She could then switch out AA batteries at her fancy. I'd suggest making sure to only use the budled software called "Simple Burner" as that is the nicest way to get all your CDs on MD the fastest.

For sure! Most decks come with atleast 1 optical in, and one analog in. If your YN7 has a headphone mini-jack out just get a mini-jack-to-RCA cable. If it has a RCA out, then you can just go from the RCA-out to the RCA analog in on the deck.

Infrared wireless doesn't work through walls. Infrared works the same as a TV remote, and won't work unless you point the headphones at the transmitter.

A good brand to check out is M-Audio. This card has a range up to 24-bit and has an optical in. http://www.minidisc-canada.com/shopexd.asp?id=286 Maybe that's not right (I have very little experience with the extremely technical aspect of digital sound) but I know M-Audio makes some top-notch stuff.

Like in the ear? or in the Drum? Trying lightening the strain on your ears. Use your speakers and don't put anything inside. I know from time to time I ears just get fed up with all the sound being pushed into them and tell me to stop. I think you should do the same.
