Rather sorry, but you are mostly out of luck. You cannot check in songs then download them to other devices. Sadly, there is no quick way about doing any of this. You may just have to re-encode all the music. Unless you REALLY need it on your new player, you can use the line-out or headphone out on your r30, to an input of your soundcard. Record it using some type of program, and then save it as a WAV file. This should let you re-encode the files for future use. Although, assuming there is 1 hour on each disk, this method should take in excess of 300 hours time.

Why are we still talking about this? All he needs is Garage band and his iMic! Record the headphone out of your n707 (or line-out funtion if you hacked it) from the Line-in of your iMic with Garageband which is very cheap/free from apple. This would be uploading. Unless anyone is suggesting a Mac compatible program that is better than Garageband (which I know there is, but I can't think of it) this discussion is over. The user does not need tips on how to get music from his Mac to his n707.

The r50 is thick like a brick, and twice as silver! Seems a few of us like our tanks..... even if mine is broken.

Best possible sound quality from MD (Hi-MD?!) to PC?
Bananatree replied to harmonika's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
The new HiMD can record in loss free PCM, then be uploaded via USB2 compatible cable and be converted to wav. There are several other threads about how to convert uploads into Wavs . -
I think we all need to make folders with popular movie names for filename. I personally got an e-mail about how my room mate is downloading movies ilegally.

Can I purchase UK connect music here in the USA?
Bananatree replied to scootaboy's topic in Minidisc
If your billing addy is in the UK, and you know the URL for connect UK, you should be able to get UK songs. -
As far as I know, any of the newer sharp MD recorders have this feature. You need MDLP to get 360 minutes, and sharps (and sony's from the r909) have on the fly levels. I suggest you do a search of this equipment browser. http://www.minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html Look through the sharp recorders and find one with MDLP and on the fly levels.

We've gotten so many different ideas on this subject I just have no idea who to belive. :frustrated:

When the screen turns off, it should be charged. Pushing stop again will try add some juice to the battery as the rechargable cell can never be fully charged. So the unit will always try and give it some juice. I suggest against hitting the charge button after you've charged it up as this could lead to over charging and killing your battery.

Even though I am a mod I have no idea... maybe Chris over looked this one......

I know there are a few options that you may have to consider. The MD/Tape may mean it can control a MD changer only, as the interface between changers and head units is usually uniform. Whereas Sony and Sharp have different remote configs, so it'd be hard to program the head unit to control the MD. I highly suggest reading your car's user manual, or if there is one, a copy of the manual for the stereo system (My 1990 dodge caravan had one, a mazda should too ) Since I'm just going on theory and what I have found out from stereo installers, do not take my words for 100% valid.

80 min glitch problem need help Sony deck and portable
Bananatree replied to emalvido's topic in Minidisc
Do discs recorded with the r50 play well in the r50? I have heard about recordings being different in different recorders due to heads being not uniformally placed. This could create your skipping. -
1 gig hi-md disc compatible with any sony minidisc player??
Bananatree replied to Keensta's topic in Minidisc
Futureshop's only selling point is price. It's selection, customer service and MD stock is lack-lustre at best. They still sell JVC 74 min blanks for 5 bucks each. -
Songs transferred are only 0 or 1 second in length....HELP!!
Bananatree replied to willystyle's topic in Minidisc
Try clean installing everything if it is an option. I.e Win XP, and Sonicstage I'm not sure if that will work for you, or even if it will yield any results at all, but whenever my PC gets in a jam, I just format and re-install. -
No problem, thanks to me and me ultra mod powers, this forum is a nicer place to dwell. Kudos should go to chris for actually supporting us.

Bravo to this guy. He clearly does not realize the 1 stands for the 1st NetMD model and the 10 stands for the 10th anniversary.

downloaded MP3, copyright, sonicstage, realy confused!!!!!!
Bananatree replied to marvin's topic in Minidisc
You say "Downloaded off the 'net" Does this mean you downloaded them from legal music sites? Or did you download them from a P2P program? Well I guess since they are Mp3 you should not have a problem, but I have known a Mp3 to not transfer in sonicstage due to copyright problems. -
The Japanese language uses Roman characters as well as 3 other alphabets to express different things. Our roman alphabet will be readable using the NE10 remote. Atleast, that has been my experience with all other Japanese remotes.

Building a remote keyboard for a Sony MD player
Bananatree replied to seppo's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
That looks cool, but how do you go about typing? I think I'd have trouble remembering the key commands. -

Wow, I must say that you WIN! If I had riches and prizes, I'd send them right to your door. Now Bangraman, don't go squeeling to your Sony contacts... we don't need this secret getting too much attention -
The recorder even as low as the nh700 has a microphone-in I belive. Hi-MD will have the best sound quality out there. You can upload any recording you have made in analog, and you should be able to edit it once the converter comes out that Mutant mentioned. The HiMD models should soung better as well because they A: Can record in PCM and B: Some implement a digital amp

Sony MZ-E730/630, JVC XM-C31 + XM-S51 & Sharp SD-FX20.
Bananatree replied to Christopher's topic in News
I'm thinking Sony doesn't want to burn bridges. They still make tape walkmans as well as betmax blanks. I think it is just good practice to keep a few units around for a couple of years, just to keep some people happy. -
I liked the mod chill of the green, but I really like the mellow of the blueish.
