  1. yup, , thats a negative on that. tis a shame too.. no real playlists either.
  2. unfortunately, you can't transfer music computer to computer using hi-mds gotta ove DRM. but the sound quality is pretty damn good. damn good man. damn good. better than your 150 dollar cd player. much better.
  3. you get a big fat D for that response.
  4. yes, i ought to do that. theres a bettery store that sells em, but he charges too much. .... Get the joke. HAHAHAHAHA. My uncles thought that up .
  5. what is that breepee? i always thought he was puffing a puffer (for asthma)
  6. So, i just learned yesterday that the 900 was to be dropped to 300 bucks from 400 today. luckily, my favorite sales guy was there, so i got the deal on their last unit :D:D 910 - 250 900 - 300 (edit: these are canadian dollar values) the number of features between the 910 and the 900 are more than worth the 35 extra bucks (well, i got 15 bucks off, VIP customer ). It wont me over, and i will be the proud owner of my 900 for years to come. Good bye temporary 600d (yuck). the remote itself is worth about 40 bucks, the HD digitial amp, line out, VPT (i never use that), Metal front, Stand, Programming tracks, T.Mark adjustments, are worth MUCH more to me than mp3 capability and a big display. I also personally think that this 1st gen wheel is much better than the "log" that you roll . Better feel. So, anything i should know about this lil baby? i have a 3 year warranty with it at my Sony Store
  7. lol i thought it actually uploaded the downloaded track for hi-md.. and i was going to prove you wrong dex. but, i actually did some research/testing before posting and found that it actually doesnt upload the song. thats freakin weird. thats dumb. i see no DRM breach by uploading to your own computer. well, theres something i learned today. i actually did think it would upload.. nooooooooo!
  8. 2 and 3: yes. and yes. sucks dont it. 1: I'm not sure, but, being sony, i think it would be befor ethe transfer. that way, ity would null any possiblity of you uploading (using sonicsage ) then unplugging before the flagging is done.
  9. I believe what you are seeing is: when you make an edit, record, deletion, ,or anything to edit a disc, ,it doesnt complete the process. it stores {table of contents} data into its internal memory until you are done editing, ie shutting the unit down. then will it write the toc data. the reason for why it does this is so you can edit stuff much quicker. like, when you move a track, it takes like a split second. but really, it just memorizes it until you shuut it down. then it saves it. th eflashing R you see is most likely telling you that it still has stuff to save to the disc. So, as long as your batteries dont die on your before it gets to do this, youre good.
  10. every minidisc recorder *at least every recorder n505 and up) comes with an optical input. Just get a cheapo 510 or 505 and youre set to go. as for the dr80, i dunno.
  11. Spare Tire, Please watch your language As for the USB 2.. this year's gen models are using usb 1. they're just saying its usb2 COMPATABLE.
  12. *fetches my 600* yup.. i get that sound too on my 600. Been getting that ever since the beginning same with my n510/n505. i would say thats normal. it does say that the unit makes weird noises, and thats just the g-protection working.. dont know why a feature would be so noisy...*shrugs*
  13. I'm not a programmer for nothing
  14. i set my play settings as shuffle->no repeat. that way, i will have listened to every song once before restarting the disc, and listening to it all again in a different order.
  15. I have two kinds of discs. lp2 discs and hi-lp. When im on the bus, i use my hi-lp discs, because i can't tell the difference. When im walking, i pop in my lp2 discs because it does indeed sound better. But if you have a quality / bitrate ratio, hi-lp is quite good.
  16. I wonder how much the DS-HMD1 will be. I might buy one for work.
  17. hmm. the rh10 has that progress bar thingy.. and the 910 doesnt according to the manuals im going to go ask the people who own the 910 that
  18. FINALLY. (Warms up laser printer for 115 pages of rh910 goodness.)
  19. hmm. we should talk. Any warranties? Why are you selling it so fast?
  20. lol might as well link right to the batteryuniversity site! http://www.batteryuniversity.com/
  21. maybe its just that the "general household income to technology pricings" ratio is shortening. Note that the ratio is much greater in japan (due to extreme land values, income is much higher. SO, technology SEEMS cheaper to them, but to us its the same price (or more expensive if theres more features). so they add more expensive features in japan.) So im either saying a) the average household is in fact losing the battle with cash inflation, or electronics, materials are becoming more expensive due to environmental costs / labour.
  22. the mzn-h1 has a HD-amp. the rh10 only has a digital amp. neither can be used with macs when transferring music, because sonicstage, which is required for PLAYABLE music transfer, is not mac compatible. perhaps, someone could make a program for the mac that encodes mp3s to hi-md mp3 dats, as just recently discovered.
  23. the atrac would be too hard. not only you would need to decypher the encryption, but you would have to hack any SS that uses it or make an atrac player. i dont think anyone out of sony knows how the decoding works =/
  24. nice! so if a program was developed, all we would have to do is keep the program on the device, and simply run it whenever we want to put mp3's on there!
  25. 1.you need Sonicstage to transfer your recordings to the computer. Or you could do the analog headphone->line in, but that loses quality in the reconversion. 2. no. only to atrac3/plus only. and your recordings to pcm wav. 3: There is no support for macs in Sonicstage, although people in the forums have managed to have a PC emulator run Sonicstage with some success. don't know a or b, because its not available here yet. but im pretty sure that the 910 sounds like the 900. the mp3 playback would be better than imported mp3s->atrac3/plus, because theres no conversion. pcm->atrac3/plus would have better quality (if the original song/recording were in pcm (NOT MP3))
