that's a question only u can answer yerself. if you're not happy with them, then return them or sell them. i wasn't happy with the ex71's so i sold them off. as simple as that.....

the mic in jack would definitely eliminate the need for a battery module if u want to record from a mic. the line in allows u to record from other sources such as a CD player. with the line in u can also record with a mic but u would need to use the battery module. if live recording is not important, i just get one that has a line input only.

i misread your question, u can probably get amplified speakers for your portable. i have Sony SRS 150, they are pretty good, though i dont know if they still make them. a deck is certainly another option to go.........

check your warranty card, it should tell u what your limitations are.....

pretty good...wasn't $330, but it was used only a few months, so i had to jump in on the deal, and i didn't want to pay the full $330. plus the guy who sold it was getting out of the MD game once again. and sold all 33 of his regular MD's with two remotes.

i am out of the legacy units, i still got some of them, the G750 and a Minisystem and a deck. but everything esle is HiMD. i will not buy another non himd unit.

make sure everything works first then i say u lucked out, as far as spotting refurbs? not really....but by law they are supposed to say that it is refurbished.

i never liked those pouches.....is not a perfect fit like those leather cases.

possibly, i have the same deck, but never experienced those problems except it turns itself ON and OFF, so now i leave it unplug. perhaps u should try cleaning the lens with an MD lens cleaner
