thx, for the clarification....i didn't know there was a NH600 with a line in.

i thought the NH600D is a downloader unit only, so no line in and no mic in, so how would u record a live rehearsal? my NH600D only allows me to record via USB.......

@ way ward traveller, if u have both the 700 and 800, can't u try the remote on both units, then u should know for sure.

when i was in beijing china and hongkong i was able to charge my creative vision M zen MP3 player, without any adapters....and i am from the USA. perhaps that plug would work. but i get a universal one just to be on the safe side.

after u upload the old SP MD discs to your PC's HD from the RH1, can u transfer those recordings to a CD???

cuz it'll cost more than the whole unit or at least half the price of what u paid for it....but u r more than welcome to send it in to Sony USA and see what they say.

do u only want to search songs from the remote? cuz u can also search a song while the current one is playing by using the jog dial, well depending on which unit u have. i have the NH900 and NH600D. both of these allow me to search songs by using the jog dial on the unit.

very true, for a few more dollars u can get a brand new NH600D for $85 on ebay.

i guess he can ship it back to Sony USA....but is probably not worth it.

sorry to hear about your MD not working, but the warranty would NOT be valid in your country, because u bought it in the USA. i wouldn't pay to get it fix, i would just get a new one or a used one if u can.
