Just saw this on the Minidisc T-Board Minidisc T-Board

I use a program called cdwave that works great. It automatically splits tracks on sector boundaries (for gapless playback). It is also shareware. http://etree.org/cdwave.html

There is a program for the Vaio Pocket and NW HDD series called Vaio Transfer Utility that allows Drag and Drop mp3 and atrac transfers. I wonder if this could be adapted for Hi-Md? I have the NW-Hd1 and this utility works great. You can even drag WMA Lossless or Wav onto it and it will convert to atrac of your choosing on the fly.

I have 32 Hi-Md Discs and 2 Leather Minidisc Cases that hold 45 mds each. I would like to sell the whole bundle for $220 USD. If I am unable I will sell individually. Most of the discs have music on them (256atrac3+) and are labeled nicely on the spine & front. I am leaving the music on because it is easily removed. Please PM or e-mail me if you are interested! Thanks For Looking.

I have tested this and no it does not work. You have to use the backup tool.

Here are my thougths on SS 3.0: Overall design is basically the same however it does feel alot faster although not as smooth. I like how you are now able to change track information without have to "right click" > "Properties". I also noticed that you have the option to leave the track on the MD when transferring to your computer. I don't have a Hi-Md that can record externally so I wasn't able to test this. And it does say that only analog recordings can be transferred to wav. I take this as being the same as 2.3. You are able to upload digital and analog but are only able to convert analog to WAV for use with other programs. Himdrenderer should still be able to convert the digital files to WAV. I too wish that SS would support FLAC as I have about 200GB of them, however it does support WMA Lossless. I did some tests and was not very pleased. The convert and transfer times were not horrible but not fast either. But my bigest problem with SS is that if you import tracks from your computer they are not "gapless" either in SS or when transfer to the MD. The only way I have been able to get gapless is to make a "Image" of the cd (Nero) and use nero image drive to mout the image then import to SS. It would be nice to not have to do all this to import, it takes forever!! Another dislike is all the restrictions. I do not like to use the backup tool to keep all my converted files safe. I like to tweak windows and other programs to their limits and have crashed my OS numerous times. With SS I have to have two of everything, Active & Backup. Waste of HDD space if you ask me. Why not instead make your installation of SS password protected. Everytime you install SS you enter in your password and this keeps your hardware id the same enabling you to re-import your library. anyway that's as far as I have dug into SS 3.0

Yes, it is finally here. Downside-> You have to send it to Sony for them to install the firmware and it costs $20. Way to go Sony make an awesome idea and screw it up. NW-HD1 mp3 firmware

I tried running the HIMD-Xtract but I get a "This application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Am I doing something wrong?

The converter is for the US and the frequency it converts it to is 96-108 MHz. This might work for other countries? I don't know. I also don't know what the frequency is originally but it is made for Japanese FM.

I use this to copy DVD audio to minidisc Ace Dvd Audio Extractor I have tried just about every DVD audio extractor and this one is the best. I recommend extracting audio as one track then using CD Wave to split into tracks.

I wonder if this http://www.itworld.com/Tech/4535/041230sonyconnect/ will do anygood for the SonicStage software.

I think I remember hearing that Sony was thinking of making hi-md disc 1.8gb but that if they did Hi-md wouldn't be backward compatible with the regular discs. They decided instead to make them 1gb and have backward compatibility. Personally I would rather have the 1.8gb discs. Maybe they will come out with audio players for the UMD discs (you can put atrac and mp3 on these discs and listen to them on the psp already).

I'm trying to do a workaround for this problem so you don't have to have two files of the same thing (active & backup). I', going to try to use connect to "activate" my computer and see if this will let me import files that have previously be activated using my account. I'm not too hopeful about this though. I was going to do it this weekend but the connect server hasn't been working.

Is it possible to: 1) Copy the HMDHIFI folder to the Hardrive 3) If SonicStage trashes the tracks while uploading 4) Copy the HMDHIFI back to the original disc?
