Can anyone comment on this yet?

I'm losing hope in waiting around for a Hi-MD deck. I may break down and get one of these for the bedroom. Need somethin...
-
Do you think the flash based recorders you've mentioned capture sound better or more accurately than Hi-MD PCM? Is it even a fair comparison if the flash recorder has phantom power and we compare it to MD's 1.5 V or 9V? The subject recorder that started this thread sounds like it has the same input options as MD (1.5V mic in or 9V battery module to line in). Hopefully someone with an RH1 will get the Roland soon and A/B them.

Is it possible to play one track while simultaneously recording a second track?
-
They say 'contact us directly' but don't say how. Do you still have the disc? How could it possibly be recovered?
-
How much are they paying? OK, you probly won't tell us that. The ads aren't too obnoxious. Atleast they don't follow you as u scroll down the page. You know what sucks, tho? That stupid 'gracenote' icon on the upperleft hand corner of my Sonicstage screen. Anyone know how to get that off? I don't even use it...

If I converted correctly, this unit costs around $750US. If the RH1 or anyother device did not exist to upload legacy MD digitally, and if it were about half as much - I'd buy one. This unit looks great and I'm sure it is a quality product. I have a Denon (lower end Marantz, I believe) reciever/amp that sounds absolutely beautiful. The fact that it doesn't support Hi-MD has me wondering whether Sony ever sold licenses to other companies to to allow them to market their own Hi-MD products.

Hello All, I have purchased and am pretty happy with the 3 drawer MDB-60 mini disc storage box. It can store aprox a third more MDs without the slip cases (96 as opposed to 60). http://www.minidiscaccess.com/item.html?PRID=1564618 I'd like to know ur opinion on whether or not the slip cases protect the MDs at all if they are in a drawer that only gets opened maybe once a week. I am getting ready to order another 1 or 2, 3-drawer boxes depending on if I keep my discs in slip cases or not. Thanks for any input.

Also consider the latest greatest RH1, which will allow u to digitally upload the recordings made by your Sharp.

Before his resignation, Sony engineers were working on a subroutine in the codec to handle "fuzzy math."
-
I wonder if the unit still works after being sprayed with Bolton's bullsh*%.

Another work around is to set the time mark to auto and max out the time to 60 mins. That way you'll only get an unintentional mark every hour. You can make the marks where you want them by pressing pause during recording.

Thanks for post. The link says the zoom recorder records to SD card. I believe these are smaller than compact flash cards.
-
That's why I wish there was a feature that would let you tell the recorder to switch from say PCM to HiSP when it realizes there's only 5 mins left of PCM recording time on the disc.

Thanks so much for posting this. It works great. The razr charger is lighter and more compact. At work right now, out of battery juice, but it's not a problem thanks to this post.

Try pressing puase and record at same time. Then hold down menu button for 2 seconds. Navigate thru menu til 'rec settings'. hit enter. navigate to 'rec mode'. hit enter. choose Hi-SP. hit enter.

Rh-1 vs Symphony orchestra with 8 percussionists

Is it possible that the RH1 was delivering a headphone out signal and not Line Out? Did you try adjusting the volume on the RH1 while recording (which would have told you 'Line Out') Man, it's amazing that this little machine can record and send out a signal at the same time. -
Just wanted to give an update: After charging battery in NH1 and putting back into RH1, using it for a few days and letting the battery discharge (but not completely), unit is working and charging properly.
-
At home I plugged it into AC outlet and still just get 'Low Battery' flash for couple secs then off. I checked battery orientation twice, it's correct. I threw in my battery from my NH1 and nothing showed up on the screen 'til I pressed play. At this point it started playing and charging, showing 1 bar in the battery level. I then threw the original battery back in to see if maybe it was some kind of memory issue that I've been hearing about but don't quite understand yet. Still get 'low battery.' Safe to say, the faulty (?) battery is now charging in the NH1 --charge time 60 mins. It's like the RH1 just couldn't spark up the battery to recharge. Cuz it was so low? But then why can the NH1 charge it?

RH1 in London! EDIT: there are some black units available!... got one!

Maybe Blair can pick some up for you while he's here. I heard W has about 5 of them shoved up his a#@. He's sure to find them there... oops. Why not hop over to Amsterdam? Maybe the MDcenter.nl guys can help. -
Uh oh...it wasn't charging. I thought that while the screen was flashing it was charging. It wasn't. Now I'm just getting 'Low Battery' messages again.

Have NH1 and a warrantee (I think...). Purchased from Minidisc Canada. I'll try NH1 to charge battery when home... UPDATE: Just unplugged from PC, pressed play (it turned on), pressed stop and replugged USB while unit still on and it appears to be charging now...

I tried to charge my RH1 last night, battery was close to full disharge. Upon plugging mini USB connector to unit, it displayed 'Low Battery' which flashed a few times then appeared to just be off without charging. I replugged everything multiple times and took out the battery. Every time I replugged, the 'Low Battery' message would appear. So, I left it plugged in overnight to see what'd happen. Apparently, nothing. I unplugged the unit and pressed play. It did start up, but the battery sign flashed indicating very low battery. I then pressed stop and replugged the unit to charge. It then started charging. But, I was leaving to work and couldn't leave it behind so I brought the usb plug without the wall outlet portion to charge on work computer. Plugged into work PC, I'm getting 'Low Battery' message and it's not charging. Anyone else encounter this? Any suggestions to rectify situation? Thanks...

Try the sound setting 'normal d' This seems to ouput much higher levels than 'normal' Maybe it's just making the soft passages louders - not sure. But, for my live recordings that are a little low in volume, this helps a lot.

OK. I'm in. Tracks recorded in LP2 were uploaded and SS was able to play them without any gaps between them (at the track mark). Is this correct, or is the gap just inaudible to me? Also, I was able to edit the tracks on the disc itself after uploading. Total freedom as far as I know.
