  1. Goodbye to the motherboard I bought to replace my burned system. Begone, you foul spawn of a nameless, corner-cutting, truth-bending, lemon-making shaky company. Is it that hard to detect a 10GB HDD that even a simple P2 300MHZ can boot from with ease? GET THEE GONE, LEMON!!
  2. Make sure you have formatted the disc to HI-MD mode, and try converting the tracks to ACRAP (sorry, mods), er.. ATRAC before transferring. Good luck.
  3. Or better yet, true SP through the USB cord, at faster speeds.
  4. Sorry. I meant Apple Lossless format.
  5. Yup. Didn't need one until 2001, since I always used the library's or electric typwriters for my school stuff. RGB? *drools* I have an Amiga 1080 monitor for the purpose of playing all my consoles on gorgeous RGB. Uh, ever heard of WinUAE? AFAIK, you can use Amiga Floppies on an actual FDD on your PC, and run the games off that with an emulator. *sigh* I miss Psygnosis.
  6. I have to agree with Kurisu. The fact that the next big idea to come out of the Apple camps is a simple slide show-like picture feature for the Ipod leaves me a bit... weirded out. (of course, what else could you add to a media player that can use lossless AAC, lossy AAC, and Mp3? Toast-making capabilities?)
  7. Sorry if this is not the right place to post about computer hardware.. but my old PC Chips motherboard went up in smoke today. It shall be missed as many MP3 and wavs were recorded to MD on it. May you rest forever in the Hardware Pantheon, old MLR 810. Good times, bad times... we had them together. The way you always handled Phantasy Star Online and my emulated games will never be forgotten. Thanks for showing me that there's more than Intel out there in the market. You shall be forever missed, my first system ever. Curse the power supply that overloaded your delicate AMD processor and memory. *respectful silence* Abit IS7-E2, welcome. Many tasks await to be tackled. Show me what breaking the previously unknown (by me) 1Ghz barrier means. Your predecessor left a pair of big shoes to fill. Take me to other worlds, let's live new adventures. There is still so much that remains to be done. *sniffles as he waves a final goodbye to his first computer, now silent and lifeless...*
  8. There is always MusicMatch Radio or On Demand, on CD quality audio. Of course it's only streamed, but you know.. my new motherboard has optical output... and.. eh heh heh.. *evil smile*
  9. I thought the DS will not play older type of GB games, only GBA. Yeah, I know, it's stupid, but they said they had to forsake that feature to save costs.
  10. I have to disagree. SS is cryptic and only sits there without explaining what does what. Sure, MM has more buttons, commands and stuff. But only a blindfolded person would not be able to use it. It's pretty self explanatory, and doesn't suffer from SS committment to random failure. Of course, my reg key was free with an Iomega Zip drive.
  11. You're right. I probably said that since it was so late when I posted and I was half asleep. Uh.. in case you want to know, that is me, making a funny (I think) face as if saying, "Dude, MD rocks!" Looking my worst, from my worst angle. (Yaay, I can pimp my av too over here.)
  12. Cool. Reminds me of some character from Phantasy Star Online. Heh. Glad I got to post before another mod locks and isolates this thread.
  13. I think you have to let the unit in record pause in order to change the settings. AFAIK, only Sharp units let you adjust the levels on mid recording.
  14. I am speechless. The Xbox looks like a horrid bulky abomination compared to that sleek discrete monolith PSTwo. Of course, graphics-wise, it's another story...
  15. I suggest you file a complaint right away. Take pictures of the player and submit them to PP and Ebay, and show your seller you mean business. Regardless of what he/she says, by selling the item on ebay he agrees to abide by their rules and regulations, and misrepresenting the state of goods sold is forbidden. Don't go down without a fight, at least. Good luck.
  16. Bumping to add five brand new, unopened Denon minidiscs, straight from Japan, to the lucky buyer of the R 500 or the whole bundle. That makes 12 discs total. seven brand new, five open but blank. Come on, you know you want to. These discs cannot be purchased here in the USA. Who's going to be the lucky winner?
  17. It has a graphical user interface. If I can understand it, you can too.
  18. The bank can have the charges reversed all right, but Paypal will try to cover their coward @$$ and freeze the account, saying that "Your bank told us there was an unauthorized withdrawal from your account, and for your protection, we have frozen your account". *curses in 7 different languages at Paypal*
  19. Hey. I need to get rid of these two since I have brought my Sharp SR 60 back to life, and have a backup R37. The R500 has been hacked to add Random, random repeat, Program, and program repeat modes to the menu. Also, you get Personal Disc Memory for up to 20 discs, IIRC. Auto time mark is also enabled with the hack. Other functions, like the alarm and bass and treble settings do not work since the recorder doesn't have the chip to generate the alarm (though it cuts the music all right) and you need a remote to change the sound settings. *HOWEVER*, you still get two Megabass settings when entering the sound menu. Just the unit itself, no cords, no battery, no phones. Only one minor scratch on the LCD screen, not intrusive. Otherwise, mint. Uses one AA battery, for up to 35 hours of play on SP mode. Unit is MD capable, and can take line and optical cords, but no Mic. Sounds great and looks beautiful in cobalt blue. I plan on selling this as a bundle. Included is a boxed, complete, and mint E35 player-only unit. Comes with the Gumstick charger, but no stick battery. (gumstick battery available for five bucks. Brand new, used only once.). Battery case, LCD remote, manual, felt bag and wonky headphones. No scratches whatsoever on this unit, but the MD and Sony logos have lost their luster due to the silver paint chipping off. Great condition, and fully tested. 100 bucks plus (cheap) shipping, within the US. Canada orders welcome. I'll send you two new MDs, and five open but blank discs. I accept Paypal from a checking account, or PP balance. Have 100% positive feedback on ebay under the nick of AuricomResearch (60 transactions so far). Or money order. Come on. Get them off my hands. Willing to sell each one separately. 60 plus shipping will make the R500 yours if you don't want the player. Thanks.
  20. I can confirm this is correct. The music cuts out as if you had pressed pause, and no alarm is heard whatsoever.

    SonicStage 2.2

Musicmatch Jukebox can convert any MP3 to wav. I'm sure SonicCrud wont' choke on those. And MM is free.
  22. I feel that when I don't get enough rest, listen for too long to music or at loud levels (Tolerance levels for each person are different), or both. I would suggest (gasp!) staying away from your headphones for 48 hours or so. Based on my personal (yet limited) experience, I would say it's caused by them. And yes, I have felt that exact same pain that you describe.
  23. Just to point, that releasing FF: AC as an exclusive for the PSP, would be as stupid as releasing Jacko's "Dangerous" only on Minidisc, and nothing else. They have to promote their product, right; but leaving DVD and PS2 owners out in the cold is business suicide if the movie is a hit. Unless of course, it's like FF Spirits Within. That movie should have only been released in those RCA high capacitance discs. Maybe it will be exclusive only for a short time, then they'll release it on DVD.
  24. Uh. What is a "Pimeta"? Care to enlighten me?
  25. Well, Marc simply released a tool that uses already-existing resources in order to do what Sony's much delayed and crippled program does today. He's not claiming copyright ownership or charging royalties, so he's not infringing the law, just like a sound card with optical input connected to a MD deck with digital output is legal and falls within the terms of fair use. Marc didn't mess with Sony's stuff, and I don't think that Sony messed up with Marc's. All is well in the world.
