i own an ipod. i own a no. of mds & a vaio pocket & prefer atrac3 to aac. the hatred whilst a little ott is thus - do you eat at mcdonalds? out of choice? despite there being far better choices for you out there? admittedly for those who want something homogenised & everywhere ipods & mcdonalds are easy. for others who want a strong headphone amp & a good ui ipods make sense. i'm not going to continue the analogy any further except to say some people who rail against the apple product are anti-pop - music, culture whatever. others just want people to have choice, even if they get the ipod anyway it's because they've considered it for good reasons.

welcome, you've started a few interesting threads. what is an 'over the road trucker'?
-
removable gumstick type battery - rechargable & many companies manufacture them. they also have additional dry cell attachments that holds one AA
-
do you often wear caps or glasses?
-
fair enough i was just ruling it out
-
go with the rh10. there are many threads on here about them including a no. of decent detailed reviews.
-
luckily sonicstage is an international program.
-
can you click the 'config' button once simple burner has started? you can manually choose the cd drive you wish to use.
-
can you run windows update? this is a know issue & there are many threads on here about it.
-
buy some cheap wifi cards? or wait for our offline installer to be ready.
-
better than nothing right?
-
you would be able to record in lp2/lp4 via sonicstage

what are your computer specs? 1/ i like it but many prefer to carry a jukebox player - i use both. 2/ soundquality is subjective. if you listen to mp3s at 128kbs then no matter what you play them through you will get some artefacts. mds do have a weakish headphone amp, as long as you don't use ineffeicient headphones you'll love it. 3/ i'd consider, where posible re-ripping the music you have on cd. make sure you do install the newest version of sonicstage 3.2 - maybe try it today to make sure it'll run on your computer. www.connect.com

have you tried remapping one of the drives & assigning it a new drive letter?
-
importing into what format? if you want to import into mp3 try cdex it's freeware but i'd advise going straight from cd to md where ever posible.
-
yes you have to transfer all mp3 files with sonicstage.

bittorrent is a centralised file sharer rather than a true P2P. okay a tracker is a centralised location that holds the dtails of the file & arranges who's downloading what & when. this centralisation is one of the reasons BT is easy to shut down, get the servers, squash the network. when you posted the piratebay torrent you use their very reliable tracker. i wondered if you had you own for the previous link, if not that's where it went wrong. next time try yousendit.com as it's more anonymous & doesn't require any third parties in the transaction. anyway it's all cool.

there's a bit over on atraclife zero

go with a himd & get a vanilla car stereo with an aux input that way what ever portable you have can just be pluged in for instant sound.

stay here mate, join us. join us. anyway sonicstage can make folders for specific albums or any other grouping you'd like. right click on the md window in SS3.2 to create them. also have you downloaded simple burner yet? i'd use that in combination with an internet connection to transfer cds to your md. continue to use sonicstage for mp3s & other music allready on your computer.

also he's had some parts removed so he can interface with his computer in a more 'fundamental' level. he actually answers your posts before you've written them.

it's the sort of s/w that when things go well they work well. any hardware conflicts, software conflicts irq errors anything the helpfile make sonys look encyclopedic but it's very well designed. apple support & fabnsites like ours are useless - typical response 'it's because you use a pc' yeah thanks so do most ipod owners these days. it's no surprise that most people i know who own an ipod use ephpod - yet most of them know nothing about encoders & will convert cds to 128kbs because 'that's cd quality isn't it?' yet they've worked out that itunes is primarily pretty & little else.
