You may consider www.mp3-player.de ( overview ). It's not available in english - nevertheless you can try to send an email to info@mp3-player.de . You can find additional costs for sending the unit under http://mp3-player.de/versand.php .

Did anyone of you encounter the following problem? I just imported a track from CD at 256 kbit Atrac3Plus. I checked under "Properties" -> "Rights" what I can do with this file and - its almost nothing: Licens Begins: Never Licens expires: Expired Remaining Audio CD Burns:0 Remaining Transfer Count:0 ( I tried various CDs ) Very odd, isn't it? Edit: I imported the .oma-file in SonicStage, there is no problem with the Rights-information

The GUI looks nice and clean, but I am suprised to hear that Connect remembers openMG Jukebox in terms of stability - iIrc, also SonicStage had some problems with vaios (with non-DRMed .oma-files) - hopefully Connect will run better on average systems. Whereas they should better avoid the impression of incompatibility (once again and again ..)Imagine a special version of iTMS for every single I-Pod of the family..

How easily can the battery be removed - just like it was the case with the HD5 or more like with the MZ-N10 ?
-
I hope this is not everything AAL is about. Maybe Sony will come out with some AAL-compatible devices.
-
If so, where is the point of the lossless part then ?

SonicStage 3.3 Arrives -- a Reformed ATRAC is Born
indeego replied to Christopher's topic in Software
I would say it is a kind of "super-copy". Because the different Sonydevices use different Atrac-Versions this "super-copy" provides best compatibility and soundquality (and you save harddiscspace in comparision to wav). What I dont understand is that you can chose between different Bitrates for AAL. -

A new rating-system for songs is also available. See added screenshots in Ishiyoshis' post. Looks like a featuretest before ConnectPlayer appears on the screen -
I don't know exactly why, but you can chose between 64, 128, 132 and 256 kbit when you import "lossless". Maybe this determins how the file will be transferred to an Atrac-Device. The new Modul-Versions are: SonicStage : 3.3.03.10270 SonicStage Add-on for Personal Audio Download : 3.3.00.09270 OpenMG Secure Module : 4.3.00.08302 MagicGate Memory Stick Device : 4.3.00.08302 NW-E2, NW-E3, NW-E5 and NW-E8P : 4.3.00.08302 OpenMG CD : 4.3.00.08302 M.S. PRO : 4.3.00.08302 CD Walkman : 4.3.00.08302 Hi-MD : 4.3.00.08302 Music Clip, NW-S4, NW-E7 and NW-E10 : 4.3.00.08302 HDWM : 4.3.00.08302 Net MD : 4.3.00.08302 SonicStage MP3 Add-on program : 1.0.00.07120 EMD Plug-in: 1.2.0.9 CD-R-Schreibmodul(Audio CD/ATRAC CD/MP3 CD) : 3.3.00.09270 Px Engine: 2.4.35.500

From CD, then converted to Atrac Advanced Lossless 256 kbit, then converted to Atrac3+ 352 kbit (I was playing around with the new bitrates , but you can also convert Mp3s from your harddisc to Atrac3Plus 352 kbit)) Soundquality is good (on PC and Walkman), but I doubt I'll use it, because Hi-SP perfectly fits my needs. screenshot of 352 kbit file on Hi-MD
-
Right-klick your file, chose "Convert to" -> Atrac3Plus 352 kbit, check codec after SonicStage finished the transfer
-
Atrac3Plus @ 352 kbit can be transferred to first-gen units
-
Yes, looks almost like a compatition I think we should concentrate on your thread, so I'll post there from now on

Sorry, feel free to delete my post.

Yes. I'll translate a bit more: "The CeBIT is no more the right platform for us", Sony Germany Boss Manfred Gerdes says to the Welt am Sonntag. For producers of entertainment technologie the CeBIT is of low interest. Nonetheless, this decission is only for 2006. This year, Philips already stay away from ceBIT to focus on the IFA. Yes, thats what I think. This year they gonna cut 1/4 of their employees travel-budget. Indeed

CES will even be more interessting because Sony wont be at Cebit 2006, its not the right place for them, Sony says.

NEW: Sony Hi-MD Walkman Players - MZ-EH70 and MZ-EH50
indeego replied to betamaxDATminidisc's topic in News
Sorry, in fact I doesn't matter if you own (or if I own..) a mp3-compatible Hi-MD Walkman, the question is what impression people will get when they hear "Oh, Hi-MD now supports Mp3, give me the Eh50 .. oh, there's no Mp3-Support, but my Rh10 does Mp3?! Why is that?" .. -

Yes, you're both right, but that doesnt make a lot sense to me. If I'd buy a Rh10 with Mp3-support I'd never buy a player without -

Did you notice, that there is no sign of native Mp3-support on these new models? Weird, Sony.
