That is a good price actually. I paid about the same for it, but from Sony's eBay store.

That remote looks pretty usefull. Might have to go for it.

There is confusion as there are two 373's. The newer CMT373 does have cassete and a remote. I have the unit in question and love it. The sound quality is excellent for it's size (don't expect too much base) and the recording/editing options are abundant. Plus you can connect it to the pc via usb cable and use something like iTunes to playback your mp3's (The supplied program is pretty bad, but it does allow to control 120 songs via unit's remote control). All in all, an excellent hifi.

Would I be right in thinking that MD-MD transfer would be analogue?
-
IMO Hi-LP is better than LP4 so the might as well put that on HiMD discs.
-
What eq options are there for mp3 playback?
-
Will this unit be able to do NetMD, ie the older generation for compatability of MDLP bookshelf+car stereo's etc?
-
Thanks for the response. I can also confirm that E10 does not have a limit either.

Hey, Ish, you would not know the power for Euro E501 would you? It doesn't mention it in the manual linked on minidisc.org equipment browser. Although it does not have the all important type-s...

Wow, 501kbps are out of mp3 specification.

Short Review: Sony MZ-E10 (Silver)
Michael1980 replied to Tiesto's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Definetely the most stylish player out there. -
Thanks, that is paultry to say the least BTW, there is no link to the Euro manual on the equipment page.
-
Hey, Thinking of getting this player, but wondered if there is anyway to find out whether this unit is full 2x5mw or something else? Obviously the best way is either have someone with this player and look in the manual, or perhaps there is a PDF somewhere on the net. Anyway, help would be greatly appreciated.

But if the PSP had used HiMD's as the media, can you imagine the loading times? They would likely be exceptionally high.
-
Hell yes but there is a problem. There are no MP3 compatible players out there (unless it has been released when I have been away). I am a MDLP user myself with some cheap recorders and Sharp Auvi, Type-S Sony players and would not have it any other way.
-
So he basically made the drag and drop possible?
-
PSP uses MP4 playback videos, which can be encoded using ffmpeg (I use Image Converter 2.1 though for my Clie). These videos play fine on my laptop as well, so hardly a "closed" format. PSP also supports drag and drop mp3 playback.
-
Sorry that is just my opinion, But if I was a HiMD user I would never use LP2 for music. Just use HiSP for quality.
-
What are the damn logistics behind the not inclusion of SP in SonisStage?
-
Not all DAP's provide true drag and drop support.
-
I would say the old SP. But it is down to preference, maybe do a listening test or something?
-
Why would you someone need mp3's at more than 320? At 600 you can have lossless. Anyway, how does this encoder compare with LAME? I assume it is a Fr one.
-
On paper: Big screen readable in the dark, mp3 playback, better battery life, software quirks worked out (hopefully) etc...
-
Well they did release the firmware for the mp3 playback on the HD1, and MS Pro for all non-pro compatible devices. So there is precedent at least. I hope this will happen but the chances are pretty slim TBH.

In the game "Ridge Racer" when you save the game it creates a file called SND0.AT3 on the memory stick. Now you can create any atrac file (changing the name to snd0.at3), copy it over to memory stick and the savegame will have the music. Is this the first drag and drop Atrac ever? PS. Normal atrac music playback on the psp is not drag and drop (unit does not see the file).
