  1. The VAIO Pocket will only recognize music files for playback purpose that was transferred by either SonicStage or VAIO Music Move/Music Transfer utility.
  2. Answer to your queries: --> 1: You can utilize the cradle with the purpose to transfer images from a digital camera to the VAIO Pocket without the need for it to be connected to a power outlet. Just make sure that the VAIO Pocket is charged adequately before you go out into the field. --> 2: Yes, the VAIO Pocket reads ID3 art tags. --> 3: Yes, the VAIO Pocket can be used as an external portable HDD; serving as portable media. When the VAIO Pocket is connected to a computer via USB, it is recognized by the computer as a removable hard disk, allowing data read and write.
  3. I tried titling in Hebrew and I can confirm that the NH1 and other MD devices (at least with the ones I currently own) do not support Hebrew text.
  4. Did you try using drivers that comes with the original SonicStage CD-ROM of your device? You mentioned that you didn't even insert the CD - I assume this CD is the CDROM that comes bundled with the E407.
  5. I owned the iPod only for a few weeks, so I can only give you brief impressions between the VAIO Pocket vs. the iPod in the sound department. In my opinion, the VAIO Pocket seems brighter... more detailed and somewhat fuller than the iPod – its treble appears much more balanced, less distortion compared to the iPod. In any case, the iPod is definitely louder, which implies that the VAIO Pocket has a weaker amp. Hope that helps.
  6. That's great; glad it works out for you.
  7. As you've described earlier, you managed to enter into service mode with the codes provided but other codes failed to do as intended for the N707/N505. This implies that the service mode codes are “universal” so to speak but other codes you’ve employed were incompatible with the NF610.
  8. Generally, each device has its own set of service codes; unless they are of the same series that share identical components. So I can't provide you with a definite answer as to how the service manual would resolve your problem. However, I am pretty sure that the NF610 Service Manual will provide enough numerical data to set your unit back to its original settings.
  9. What set of service codes did you employ for your MZ-NF610? You should check if they are those of MZ-NF610. Otherwise, they will not work. In addition, you will need to have NF610's service manual to set your device back to its factory default settings. Note: You can order the MZ-NF610 Service Manual [Part number: 987714404] from Sony DAPC for $8.75.
  10. That's perfectly fine. I still use true SP with my Sharp SD-NX10 (along with other misc. Sony/Sharp Pre-NetMD/MDLP & NetMD/MDLP units) although I have both generations of Hi-MD.
  11. The VAIO Pocket is indeed relatively small; not as big as one would think. I hope the size comparison pictures I’ve set up depict its true size accurately. That's too bad. Perhaps you could try importing its 20GB version (VGF-AP1) from Singapore? I believe Sony Singapore still stocks them.
  12. @ D-EJ915: If you are interested, you can order the JA20ES's remote commander [RM-D19M REMOTE CONTROL, Part #147577511] from Sony DAPC for $55.95.
  13. Great. I will move this thread to the "Product Reviews/Pictorials" section of the forum. Please edit your initial post accordingly with new pictures and updated impressions. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Ishii
  14. Thanks for the comment Jonny. Yes, dark blue if you will. The surrounding area around the brushed faceplate is dark blue; as is the back and the lettering on the unit --> thus this E900 is known as the blue unit.
  15. MZ-E900 The MZ-E900 is one of the lightest MD portable and its brushed magnesium body truly sets it apart from other MD portable of its time. Anyhow, here's the E900. Please feel free to discuss your experience about this unit in this thread. Enjoy.
  16. I don't think the device can display Hebrew fonts. If you can provide me with a few Hebrew texts, I would be happy to test it.
  17. Read this Head-fi Headphone 'Burn In' FAQ for further details.
  18. MD units that come bundled with English user manuals in Japan are those of "tourist" models. As for the RH10, you can easily download its English user manual from Sony USA. The Japanese RH10's UI is Japanese by default; but you can change the operation language to English easily. For your convenience, follow the instruction below: Upon entering the menu (by holding the menu button for a few seconds): 1) Select: 各種設定 / Option 2) Select: 表示言語 / Language 3) Select: 日本語 or English Cheers, Ishii
  19. Well... I don't have the time to check all the Japanese etailers. The ones which I frequent do not ship to international locations. To purchase merchandise from a Japanese etailer, you will usually need to have a local Japanese bank account/credit card and a local address. My family is in Tokyo, so I have the convenience to use Japanese etailers accordingly. Do you remember which Japanese etailer you were planning to purchase your recorder 5 years back? If you mean Japan-Direct.com, they hardly constitute being a Japanese etailer. For your information, most reputable Japanese etailers have a physical store.
  20. For those curious as to how the MDCF dynamic url icon looks like:
  21. Thanks for sharing your comments on the JB980. May I suggest that you update this thread with pictorials (we can host the pictures. ) and elaborate your impressions further regarding the dynamics of the JB980. This thread really belongs to either "Product Reviews/Pictorials" or the NetMD section of the forum. I shall move the thread accordingly upon your response.
  22. Where are you located? For your information, the RM-D7M is a Japanese version remote commander for the MDS-JE510 and the RM-D8M is for its US counterpart. According to Sony DAPC, the RM-D7M [Part # 147378511] and the RM-D8M [Part # 147378021] can be ordered respectively for USD$55.95 and USD$51.95. At the moment, they are not in stock but do call Sony DAPC: 1-800-488-SONY (7669) for further information - that's if you are in the US.
  23. What version is your MD Simple Burner? This problem should not occur if you've the latest version of MD Simple Burner: 2.0.04.18080.
