  1. If you want more of a kick when it comes to bass, you should have a look at the NW-S7xx range. If there is one thing the NW-S7xx beats the NW-8xx at, it's bass.
  2. Unfortunately not, it has it's own proprietory connection.
  3. This goes for me too. I have never bought music online ie. itunes or Connect. If I have to pay for music then I want the uncompressed version, and SonicStage does the job of taking it from the cd and putting it on to my Walkman. I have never had a problem with SS and as GQ Smooth said in an earlier post a few days ago, it beats sitting in front of your hifi and recording in real time
  4. Hi and welcome to Atrac Life. The reason you have the long start up process is because that's how long it takes for the hard drive to start up and kick in to action. All hdd walkmans' are like this. If you want an instant start then it's a flash based player you want.
  5. This is why I have kept my HD5. It is mainly used in conjunction with my home HiFi using the line out feature
  6. Here in the UK I have noticed significant price reductions on both the NW-S7xx & NW-A8xx ranges. I would imagine a new line up of players is on the cards for this Autumn/Fall.

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

Hi Juli, how are you finding the speaker system after a weeks use?
  8. Congratulations on the new Walkman, and how do you find the SQ compared with the HD5?

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

Too good to be true I'm afraid. It's an Intempo portable speaker system you get with the NW-S705F. Original price £39:99, so you would get it for £19:99 I guess. Can't see how it would work with with the NW-S7xx range as it probably doesn't have the proprietory adaptor.

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

Check it out tomorrow just to make sure. Could bag yourself another deal and get back that sound signature you've been craving since selling your S706.

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

Now this is what I was thinking. The S705F is advertised as £59:99 and then at the bottom of the description it says something like "Half price speaker system when purchased with this item". Now the only compatible speaker system would be the one you bought today. So the question you need to ask is, "if i buy the S705F for £59, do I then get a further discount on the speaker system?" The way I see it is that if you buy the S705F you should then get the speaker system at a further reduced rate. I am probably wrong though, but it's worth checking it out. I have allways found Argos to be very good with their return policy. The only things they get funny with are ear phones and cam corders. Give them a call tomorrow, and if so get yourself down there asap before the deals gone,

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

Hope your enjoying it juli. Now did you buy it on it's own for £99 or did you pick up an S705 for £59 and then get the speaker system for £49:50?
  13. Yep, a lot slower than my HD5 and about the same as my S706. Apart from that no other problems. Congratulations on the new addition to the family

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

It supports both the S7xx and A8xx doesn't it?

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

They're not too specific but I would imagine it's the CPF-NW001. It's the only compatible one selling at £99:00 Original price is £199:00. Just checked the Sony Style website and they're asking £179:99 at the moment.

    NW-S706 4gb...139?

Argos in the UK are selling the NW-S705F (2 gig in Black) for £59.99. Not a bad price for UK residents. They're also offering a half price speaker system if bought with the player. There seems to be a lot of deals on the S7xx range at the moment, maybe something new from Sony soon?
  17. If nothing takes your fancy at the moment, my advice to you would be to pick up a second hand HD5 off of Ebay. If you take your time you will find a decent one.
  18. The same design as the EX90's and EX82's, so I would expect them to be the same. Sennheiser CX300's are a good pair of phones for the money. They would offer passive noise cancellation and wouldn't leak either. The only Sony in ear phones I know of with a short/remote friendly cord would be the EX71's but they wouldn't sound as good as the EX90's. However, they do offer good isolation and don't leak sound either.

    Sony NWS706F

How long ago did you purchase the player? If fairly recently, I would take it back and get a replacement. I have never had a mark or bump on any of my Sony players.

    Sony NWS706F

You will find no imperfections what so ever on this player. It's a delight to hold and sits in the palm of your hand very nicely
  21. I have a similiar type of phone to the EX90's, the EX82's that came with my NW-A806. They sit in the ear comfortably enough, but offer no noise cancelling what so ever. I think the EX90's are the same. They sit inside your ears like Sennheiser CX300's or Sony EX71's.
  22. Indeed the EX90's should be a great improvement on the stock buds. The W950i, is that the one WITHOUT the camera?
  23. Hi & welcome to ATRAC Life The EX90's are a good quality pair of phones but would sound better if used with a Sony mp3 player, ie. NW-A800 series or NW-S700 series player. An SE Walkman phone will not give the same sound quality as a dedicated Sony mp3 player.
  24. Yes indeed, the NW-E100 series of players. Looks more like a stopwatch than a dap. No redeeming features what so ever.
