  1. Nice collection! whats the white thing between your black NW-S7xx and the blue MS walkman?

    Yet another A8xx victim.

User error I would imagine, not a technical one. Probably never came across this site.
  3. Yep, I agree with GQ Smooth. A phone is a phone and an MP3 payer is for music. A camera phone is handy though
  4. In my opinion the HD5. Removable battery, battery life, ease of use and sound quality

    Inline remote for A608

The A608 is a small flash player and does not have the socket for a remote like minidisc and the HD5/A3000 etc. does. It's so small, why would you need one? It would practically be the same size as the player
  6. They both look red in colour especialy the E507. Sorry
  7. Hi Shinji Ikeda Yes the Aiwa was a gift back in the early nineties. I think it retailed at over £300 GBP back then. It has voice navigation and a whole heap of other features. Nice solid piece of equipment. This one is still going strong. Sorry the pics aren't any better, my photographic skills leave a lot to be desired.
  8. I just thought I would breathe some life in to this post in the hope that others would do the same. The pictures below feature portable audio devices, some going back 20 years or more. The models featured are:- WM102-1987-(20yrs old); MZ-N505-2003; NW-HD5-2005; NW-S706F-2006/2007, RM-MC35ELK Remote, Sony SEQ-50 Graphic EQ-(over 20 yrs old); Aiwa HS-JX707 personal radio cassette recorder-(from early 90's) and NW-A1200-(2006).
  9. Snoop Doggy Dogg - Doggystyle. On NW-HD5 in ATRAC 192 kbps.
  10. Snoop Dogg - Rhythm & Gangsta. On NW-HD5 in ATRAC 192 kbps.
  11. Yes in my opinion Sony wins hands down. I have listened to ipods in the past with both the stock phones and upgraded ones and the sq just doesn't cut the mustard. I agree with Shinji Ikeda, the MDR-NC022's put the EX71's to shame. Although I have just been listening to some Snoop Dogg on the HD5 with the EX71's and they don't sound too bad at all.
  12. Hi STAN STAN The leather case on your HD5, is it made by Sony or by a 3rd party? If made by a 3rd party what is there name?
  13. Unless you are happy enough just to leave it in shuffle mode and only controll the volume via the head unit. But as pata2001 has said DO NOT control the A608 while driving.
  14. Hi and welcome to ATRACLIFE. There is a company called Connects2 that does a piece of kit to connect the HD series and the A3000/A1000 to existing car stereos. However, I don't think they support the A608? There are a couple of reviews and posts on this forum for there equipment and they also have there own website. If there is a connection for an ipod you may be able to find a lead that fits the usb socket on your A608 and fits the car stereo Aux input also. However you would have to control the A608 on it's own while controlling only the volume on the head unit.
  15. Hi and welcome to ATRACLIFE! Thanks for your thoughts on the EX90's. I have been considering these for a while and may well gat a pair as I haven't seen many complaints. You say you had a pair of EX70's that you had for over 4 years and used daily, I'm surprised the cables lasted all those years? I have had a pair for over a year but hardly ever use them.
  16. Yep, I got a S/E K800i cyber shot phone a few weeks back. It was a choice between the K800i and a W880i walkman phone. I took the K800i because I had more use for a camera than I did another music player and I knew the sq would suck compared to a dedicated Sony Walkman device. The camera on the W880i is a 2 mega pixel while the K800i has a 3.2 mega pixel camera. The HD5 in red looks good. I have one in black and I love the sq when listening through my Sennheiser PX100 headphones. I now wish I got one in red. The leather case on yours looks very stylish too. Hope you enjoy the forum and yes the A808 would be a nice addition to your collection and GQ smooth and Shinji Ikeda would both recommend it too.
  17. Hi and welcome to ATRACLIFE. Thanks for sharing the pics. How do the EX90's sound with the HD5, and do you use the Walkman phone much for listening to music?
  18. I wouldn't have thought they would fit to be honest?
  19. I'm not surprised you bought another one of these, probably the best player Sony has made so far.
  20. The rubber surround on one side went today. I just tore the other one off and you would hardly notice the difference. No difference in sound quality or comfort. Personally I wouldn't worry too much regarding this.

    Newbie requesting advice

Hi and welcome to ATRACLIFE It's a discontinued model so that's why you won't see it on the Sony website hence the price reduction. It can be found cheaper than £100 in the UK, try the supermarkets, Sainsburys, Tescos. Had mine for approx. 1 year and it's still going strong. It has a dedicated line out so you can hook it up to your home system/car etc. As for Sonicstage I have never had a problem with it.
  22. Sorry to hear you had your player stolen, and you actually found a brand new HD5?
