i went to Boston to see this unit (Edirol);; and there were too many "Cons" and not enought "Pros".. it just turned me off.. once an MD'er;; always an MD'r;; expecially Hi_MD'ing;; Hi-Fi'ing and Hi-Rolling.. as much as i "Hate" Sony;; i must stick with their MD'ers;; Hi'' fliers;; and buyers.. a bling bling is always a bling;; and a blinger is always a blinger;; i am the king of blingers.. bling blang blungged till the end!

how good in volume and qualit is the original source; and how many transitions were there on you material.music. seems if the source was recorded properly, you wouldn't have to boost you RH10 too much. i have no trouble with my Hi-MD900's.

a crossfade is not effective unless the fade out and fade in is all the way. at least when i cross fade; i find the slightest clip in volume at the end noticable and annoying. IMO (on Wednesdays only though.) tomorrow i may have another opinion.

if it is a Sony store; they are Idiots; they don't know anything that complex. (they are probably not told). you need to go higher up; IMO. i have NEVER gone into a Sony store and have them answer a question right; and that's with simple questions from the board. imagine a serious question? coffee break anyone?

crazy drivers and ipods piss me off; and not being able to double puck pisses me off; and PC's piss me of; but, i don't let it upset me, i just go shopping every day and buy bling blings in stores that piss me off, i get pissed off driving the most, avoinding crazy drivesl that listen to i-pods; and the most thing that really pisses me off is ppl calling my hi-md an i-pod. my doctor pisses me off with his i-pod and yet he is amazed every time i explain my Hi-md unit; but 3 months later he asks, "oh, did you get a new i-pod?

but, isn't it true that the MD units are notorious for burning out the Optical block? i lost a few MD-Decks and two portables that way! bo peep lost her sheep & sony lost their sweep. i still love the units anyhows.

thanks Greg fror the quick reply and the the answeres that i understand. me guru students have WARNED me that my PC's are prehistoric; and the NEW Microsoft generation that will superceed "XP" will make ALL of the "Now" programs useless. it's gonna be a tradeoff for better security for the need for us to BUY all new bling bling programs. i am saving up my "Pennies" for to buy my last super PC; this time it will be the identical ones to my students'; and i will ride out the wave of deathness with them; burning and pirating anything i can bling on. of course that also means spending my total retirement money on semi-bling blings including a cup of Starbucks coffee if you ever roam this area (RI-USA).

i burn to DVD's at about 70 and CD'R's about 30 % now;; i have a dual layer DVD burner in my PC#2; but the copywrite scheme is frustrating; so i do the "Realtime" transfers which suite me fine. question is; where do you write/print on a dual layer; how do you know which one is which; or, are the layers on the same side? lately my dvd burner only burns the (1-x8) ones (minuses) and not the (1-!6X) (minuses) ones so today i bought 100 more sony DVD-R's (1-8x) (in 50 spindles). why is that?

yes;; PCM sometimes but Hi-SP mostof the time;; it doesn't matter;; i am just stealing it anyways and expect to "delete" it by days end. you'd be surprized if you wrap the mix in a handcerchief (sp) and then insert in the headphones;; it comes out decent;; and the stereo is pretty well separated (was that INXS) or (U2).? i'll tell you what; it's a lot better than mp3's in a cheap way. * i really can't do this single punctuation crap*. when you live as long as i did; you find a lot of shortcuts that are just "Fun" and if you can have "Fun" son,, give it up. live is not worth all the hassle Sony puts yous through; and all the bickering over MP3's and MD's (i've alveady ventured int audio DVD'ing; just for "FUN",, son;; and am having a ball. i still do my daily MD recording; and my Hi-mD'ing listening; and on even days; i like to throw on a vinyl (if it's good; i re-lay it into the PC or MXD-D-40 Deck. if it's bad; it goes to the Yard Sale box. if it's really bad, i break the sucker. you have to try putting a mic in a headset; but watch the volume; and , make soure the sourse is lagitimate and not MP3's.

that's why i bought TWO of them; with the intention to add them to my DJ'ing rig; fell in love with them; kept them for personal music; i am a "Ho" for good sounding equipment; (Ho = short for Hoy. that is.

i DJ with two CD decks and TWO Sony- 520 MD decks;; i find the decks just a little worser than the CD's; then i take my Hi-MD900's in for a stroll; and they BLOW oUT da decks.moral of the story, keepfeeding the aquerrils and buy NEW hi-MD's. oh my Two MXD-D40's are pretty good sounding units; but stay home to edit and keep the dust off my power amp and Ralistic EQ. which remings me of BBQ for lunch today. i go by my ears; screw the specs/sheet; screw the rumors; screw the masses.

you know i would never hurt the little critters; i was thinking of puttint the end of the blow tube next to the peanuts i put out;; and blow a tiny bit of paint on their tail or foot;; then a different color for the next critter and so on. but, your're right; i shouldn't take the chance of hurting them; i will just do it the old faschioned way; i'll name them and see if they remember their names. i'll call the first one "Holi".. lol is it still Happy Holi? was is only one day, or the whole week, or month. i used to give piano lessons to an Indian dector with long long fingers; and he had a photogenic (sp) mind/brain. the smartest person i have ever met.

this gives me an idea; i want to sort out the squerrils that come every morning. if i can blow paint of them (non-toxic) ; i can keep tract of them; and figure out if i have like 10 coming to eat; or, 3 or 4 coming back for seconds. i think they are duping me and take advantage of me. i want to catch them "Red Handed" (Footed).. (maybe being retired give me just too much time on my hands)

be careful; i had looked into the m_audio; and then read a LOT of negatives about it; can't remember them; but enough for me to stop looking into the unit. just read up a LOT on it first.

was it my mis-spelling? there seems to be portable units that have all the need I/O's and then the rest just have I/O's missing. all the good features are taken out; just to get the price down to get the masses to "Buy" into the format. then they are stuck; cause they enter at one level; and mature to another; but,, withoug the I/O's.

they can't be "Real Time" blown; if you lood at each glob/blob; each one is identible.. look at the tenticles (sp).. they are perfect replicals;; i think it's just a PC program; and you fill in the colors. if it is; they it can't be "colpwrited"; cuae anyone could use the same program and get the same results; not that i want to steal it; i will still homonr the "copywrite"; but there is something fishy there. lol. j/k. like i still love the pic/poster/or what ever.

now we are getting into TWO types of portables;; the ones that can and the ones that are crap. mine has line out; all mine do; that is one of the neccessities i needed and must have. you don't send a boy to do a man's job. so, yous must be talking about the "can't's do" ones.

i am rolling all over the floor; yous guys are great; just goes to show you how diverse we are. maybe my decks are hooked to worster speakers and my Hi-MD is hooked up to better speakers. i DO DJ with decks (standard MD); and when i take my Hi-MD900 in there for a stroll on the same 1000 Whatt double 18" full rangers; i can't tell the difference; even though the sound and the ppl are bouncing off the walls;; balls to be tall and miss it all..

nice, i like it; didn't know it was a Holiday or a Holi; is this "Copywrited"; i would like to use it in some of my piano students DVD/Video projects we do. but, if it is copywrited, i will honor that. *colours make to world go round*; sound advice; twice spoken to me by my art teacher; preacher; and feature.*

i use many deck every day all day;; and my Hi-MD;s too; they all sound good for me. i like the editing easiness of the decks; but prefer listening to music with the Hi-MD900. yous guys are tooooo picky; and maybe envyous (sp) of all the differences; just sit down and have a drink and enjoy. right now, i prefer listening to silence of the Lamb.... since this is part of my name.

it's a "Gutt" feeling i have ; after being a pro-musician for over 43 years.. we are all "right' in our own ways (shpere of me'ism). just about every one of my friends has an MP3 player; mostly i-pods; and i leave them alone; unless they ask. when i put the Mic in the Headphones; i record in PCM and you can't believe how great the results are. it's only for a sample;; and for to listen for a while. i've enen gone in Starbucks Coffee Temples and put my mic in one of those MP3 music dispensers's headphones things and just antagonized the customers. they asked what i was doing; i said "pirating" leave me alone; lol's then i explained; why should i pay this stupid amount of money to listen to this music; when i can record it and listen to it all day; way,, ray; say may i have another Triple Expresso Lattay? i just use my Hi-MD in a lot more ways than a normal person does; and since i am not normal; i have the right to fight.....to P-A-R-T-Y (thought by Beastie Boys; rant and action by Rayzray). long live Hi-MD'ing! *kissing the mirror*

i don't care about OTHER ppl;;i care about "ME" rayzray;; and to go on a trip with al lot of inferior music is just not worth it; i rather KNOW i have the best sounding music possible; so MP3,4,5,6,&10 is out; i am only interested in "ME', and a few disks can't be a nuisance (sp). hinder; or blinder. and, when i go into a CD/Vinyl store;; and secretly put my mic in my Hi-MD900;; and incert the mic between a pair of headphones; and "Steal" a free sample of anything they got to offer;; i an sooooo gratified, not mortified. but i DO understand the inferior need or the masses.
