  1. WARNING THAT PROBLEM WILL RANDOMLY ERASE YOUR DISKS! even with the write protect enabled. !
  2. it sounds to me like you have a net md formatted disk. are you sure the disk is formatted for hi-md? is the disk a standard 80 or 74 min md?
  3. see if the laser is dirty. you could try cleaning it.
  4. this is going to sound dumb but try it with a 74 min disk or a 60 min disk. maybe its so old it doesnt like the 80 min ones?
  5. i have 2 mz-n510 units. both of them are awesome! they work perfect! i was wondering if your using an old computer? maybe you caould try to convert the songs first then transfer them all at once after you convert them. i was also wondering what sonic stage version you are using? if its not at least version 2.3 then upgrade to version 4.0 from this website. how fast is your computer?
  6. actaully i really loke atrac type R. i think its the best if your going to record compressed. pcm is not necessary for me. i would really like to get another deck. thanks for your help. i wish damn sony would release a hi-md deck. i would buy a hi-md then!! untill then its old sp for me.
  7. i have a old md-jes510 deck that i recorded some music on. the hi end sounded more like 256k mp3. i decided to try it again on my old mz-n510 walkman. both weree done through the digital input. has anyone noticed how much better type R recording is? i was also wondering what version of atrac the old 510 deck uses? does any one know? have anyone else been able to hear the differences between the old SP standard atrac versions?
  8. jusyt guessing but maybe the speed is almost the same just with all the drm crap taken out so it actually seems much faster...
  9. try to see if there is dirt or a foreign object stuck in the units input jack.
  10. i have a 2003 model net md mz-n510 that does the shuffle like you said playing each song only one time unless you put it on repeat. i love the feature its awesome and very hard to find on any type of unit.
  11. use a varaible bit rate of around 256k lame .mp3. to preserve sound quality
  12. so you are saying windows defragmenter is wrong? i find that hard to believe. why does it do that? when i hook up my sony digital camera and run the defrag program it does not do that...i know there is no reason to defrag a memory card. that would be stupid but its just an example...
  13. from the screen shot doesnt that mean the entinre disk is fragmented? it lookes like it needs defragmented to me?
  14. i dont think so. i use my very old md deck. mds-je510
  15. THAT is a funny question because there will ALWAYS be md units! millions have been made! there will always be repaired or refirbuished units available. i am 33 years old and expect i will be able to find them somewhere for at least the next 40 years. the best part is you dont need sonic stage or a computer to use most of them. i have 200+ disks. i will keep them forever! LONG LIVE MD!
  16. its because you can edit tracks on an mdlp unit that are made with simple burner but not tracks made with sonicstage...
  17. MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT USING THE GUMSTICK BATTERY AT ALL TO SEE IF THATS THE PROBLEM. I MISS MY R55 IT LOOKED SO COOL.
  18. i agree label the damn thing a joke now before everyone things its real. that will not help the format survive!!!
  19. i really need to know if i can upload sp recordings made with the optical input before i can buy it. all my recordings are done that way. did anyone find out yet. i will definitly buy it if i can.
  20. that is what i was thinking. i hope its ok. all of my md's in sp are from optical.it would be a shame if. i caould not upload them. i would buy the new rh1 if they could be uploaded.

  23. all of my old sp recordings are done by the optical in. can we upload these with the new rh1? i coulnt find the answer looking through the threads.
