heres a movie of it in action playing along to Iron Maiden - Dance of Death. great song might i add. :D my camera isnt the best, and for some reason when i turn on the lights it gets even worse, but meh. guess thats what happens when you find your webcam at school lol. :P

Watching an Andy Griffith Show marathon on TV Land! Woo-hoo! My day is made, and it's not even 9 am. Right now, Andy & Miss Crump, Barny and Thelma-Lou were out on a picnic when Andy & Miss Crump were caught in a land-slide inside a cave. They made a safe escape out a back way, but poor Barney didn't know it and has organized the entire town in rescue efforts. Hearing about their own "rescue" on the radio, Andy & Miss Crump save Barny's reputation by sneaking back into the cave to allow themselves to be "rescued".

That Andy is one good egg.

how'd u do that??? I never really understood the concept of TOC cloning but yeah.

I d/l the service manual in order to find out where the switches/etc. are that tell the unit when the disc is ejected, and then tore the unit apart to rig the switches so that the unit doesn't realize when I switch discs. Wasn't nearly as difficult as I imagined it would be. There were only two switches, the first one (which I had to physically remove [break]) was the switch that turns the unit off when you press the open lever. The second switch was a little more difficult to find and I had to remove the bottom case from the unit. Once I found it though I just slid a small piece of cardstock paper on top of it to keep the switch depressed even when the unit is opened.

As a result, I can now recover any SP/LP2/LP4 tracks that are accidentally deleted, or increase the capacity of my 74min MiniDiscs.

Basically with TOC cloning, you first record a disc so that it has one track the full length of the disc (in whatever format your accidentally deleted disc is) and then insert that disc into the modified "cloning" recorder. This reads the TOC into memory. You then eject the disc without the recorder knowing and insert your disc with the accidentally deleted material. The recorder still thinks the original disc is in with the one long track, so you simply rename the track or whatnot, and then press stop and presto! The TOC from the disc with the one continuous track is written to the other disc. Effectively restoring your lost audio (without trackmarks, but small price to pay).

cool stuff. I never got how people managed to do it with decks :/ Was that in the day where there was a tray you put the md on instead of a slot loading mechanism?

I think it involved entering test/service mode. Doesn't seem to complicated. I didn't realize until after I sold my deck a few days ago that I probably could have used it for that, lol/.

That link goes to some asus download site???

Well, I am going through my cousin's wedding pics and editing, cropping, adjusting colors, and finally compiling a CD of all the pictures for her. This is going to take a while. :(

heh aint seen you in while dude, maybe i just was too busy skimming, if the latter isnt the case, whats new?

Nice, Greg..did you end up using Artic Silver? What about the fan placement?

haha no, no need, i didnt but a new fan or cooler for my cpu. Ive havent overclocked my CPU just because im worried about stability. My mobo came with a thing called AI NOS a thing for boosting the CPU to 103,108, up to 115 %, and when i set it to 108, and scanning with norton while setting it, my comp froze on me a few times, it then would stick at the windows logo bit of restarting etc etc. I've decided to leave it as it is. I dont do any really CPU hungry things, just a bit of gaming. I know AMD's are meant to be overclocked but 1. i dont know how much, and 2. You just end up spending more money on cooling etc. If I do ANY upgrading at all it will be to spend 600 dollars on an X2 dual core processor. At the moment, just running s.s, and firefox, my case temp is 30 degrees C, and my CPU is 31 degrees C, or thats what the Asus utility AI Nos is telling me.

Installed a Zalman CPU and VGA cooler in my desktop with Artic Silver. Amazing performance, dropped CPU core temp while playing Counter-Strike:Source by about 13 degrees Celsius. The GPU cooler dropped core temps by about 5 degrees under load. Awesome awesome coolers. This DTR Athlon is great too, running ~300Mhz over stock on air. If I get faster single sided dimms I could boost it even higher.
