Hi JM, the R37 is the first md recorder produced by Sony "cost reduced"; entry level. Sony has produced a large number of these devices; the purple is rare compared to silver, but certainly not a rare device in an absolute sense, probably the Sony has produced tens of thousands of specimens in the color purple. a LP a md; It is a choice not to use LP2? Labels (available only for each md 2) indicate that have not been recorded more than once/twice. Cafe del mar vol. seis released in 1999 ( before mdlp) Many mds MMore, TDK, Sony, victor / jvc; not a crazy collector of blanks but only a audiophile.

Today, after about a year, I pulled out a drawer my Sennheiser cx 500. Put on md, don't work!! Another md, nothing. Plugin; perfect. No noise of any kind, completely dead. No one has a clue what might have happened? Thanks at all Sergio
