Yes it does! It can output 1080i via HDMI output and my system includes an HDMI cable. It also depends on what T.V. you're using. On some T.V.s it will output 1080i and on others, it will output 1080p. You can modify output settings within the Xbox. But I recommend using 1080p for the best possible resolution.

Will it play back SP recording? I can use my RH1 for recorded in SP mode. I also noticed that the black models sell for higher price than the silver ones. Why would that be?

Yeah, I would like to get one of these but I don't know if it has optical in. In records in SP mode though.

Okay, so there's a new high bidder on the MD unit I want and I'm pretty sure it's someone from this forum. The bidder is a newly registered user with 0 feedback. I'm guessing he saw my interest in the unit and decided to outbid me. I should have kept my mouth (or keyboard) shut.

I'm bidding on a Sharp MD player/recorder on ebay. It has the optical in and bass boost. that's pretty much what I wanted. Please, no one bid on it. We can all get great deals if we respect each other's bid and not bid on the same products.

It is a matter of taset. The problem with me was that I was so use to the stronger bass, crisp, CD like sound of my old Sharp MD that when I started using Hi-MD with lower MP3 bitrates, it just didn't sound as "alive." Unfortunately, if I want that crisp Cd like sound I'll probably have to use MP3 @ 320. I use MP3 instead of ATRAC3plus because I can use MP3gain to modify the volumes of different mp3s.

Don't worry, i'm sure there are plenty of people watching your item and ready to make a bid on the final hour or final minutes. I saw one RH1 jump from $150 to over $300 in the last hour.

Okay guys, I think I'm just going to go old school with a Sharp MD unit with extra bass. There's something about their 24-bit encoder and SP stereo sound quality that is unmatched, even by Hi-MD units.

I'll lower the price again: $7 shipped to U.S. and $8 shipped to Canada. Come on, someone wants to buy it, i know they do.
