  1. Sorry guys - I didn't realize my avatar was such a distraction
  2. The MCMD-R1 should indeed be compatible with all Hi-MD models.
  3. If Gracenote detects the album cover - just drag the art from the pop-up into the Sonic stage icon in the "Now Playing" area (to the right of the Fast Forward Button). If the cover isn't detected automatically you can download the image yourself from Amazon or anywhere else then add it manually after you have ripped the cd by accessing the properties of the album in "My Library".
  4. Glad to hear everything is working ok now
  5. * Moved to appropriate section of forum
  6. I haven't really done too much too my computer lately but I'm half thinking of getting another external drive - the 250gb one I have at the moment is rapidly being filled up with endless VPC / Virtual Server images that I use at work.
  7. I would suggest you try a full uninstall as described here (use the backup tool if you need to backup any tracks - assuming that is actually working) re-install from cd and upgrade that to 4.0 using the links here
  8. As A440 says go with what you feel most comfortable with. Personally I use SS to rip & transfer. This is mainly because I do a lot of things at 352 and also like to have the cover art. Maybe if you don't need some of the extra things in SS go with Simple Burner.
  9. Hi there - unfortunately both of the models on the page you link to are not Hi-MD compatible only MDLP. The Hi-MD models are only for the Japanese market but can be imported through some of the etailers you mentioned.
  10. You should be fine - see here for a full guide to what's what: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8147
  11. I would try initializing the disc through Sonic Stage first then transferring a couple of tracks. Also make sure you use the stop button on the unit before ejecting the disc when it is connected to the PC or by using the Stop Hardware Safely icon in the system tray. You may also want to upgrade to version 4.0 at some point too. * Moved to Software Discussion
  12. Garcou - I edited your post with instructions to contain an explanation in english.
  13. Glad to hear it's ok now. I think the 55ELK works best with the 2nd gen Hi-MD and higher. I suspect if you play back the same disc with the RH1 and the 55ELK it'll also be fine.
  14. Not sure what the current prices are exactly - but to answer your other question - yes you will definitely need the power convertor in Italy too. The decks only accept 100V input - Italy like most of the rest of Europe has 220~230V. Hope that helps.
  15. Brilliant - some excellent photos in there - Looks like you had a great trip.
  16. I don't know - I used Kakaku in the past with PriceJapan, but having said that I couldn't find either of the Onkyo decks on there. My dutch is pretty non-existent (I only live there). If I have some time later tonight or tomorrow I will translate your post. PS: Your english is excellent it is just that it is always more difficult to translate into a foreign language (as opposed to reading something in another language and translating it into your mother tongue).
  17. Good tip Garcou - if you want I could translate it into english for you. Interesting to see you used Rakuten - just curious is this because you couldn't find them with Kakaku?

  19. Thanks Stuge - why don't you create an album in the gallery and upload them to there?
  20. I suggest you check out PriceJapan for importing stuff into Europe. (By the way - where in Italy are you?)
  21. 0000178d-4594 This is the message (together with another code underneath) that is displayed when a cd cannot be ripped by SS due to copy protection (usually the ones with the logo on the CD cover). Fortunately in most cases Simple Burner will burn these protected cd's. Alternatively if you need 352 or 192 bitrates for these you can use another tool to rip them to WAV then import into SS afterwards.
  22. What exactly are you trying to do when these errors occur?

  24. The Lam-X1 also has absolutely no in/out connections apart from the USB. It does have Kanji titling, but no tuner and much lower output. The Atrac Type-S thing is in the manual somewhere (or on the box or something), but trust me it does use it.
