Greenmachine - I think you should be ok. But if you want to be on the safe side run a virus scan on your local machine. Looks like you're using Spybot Search & Destroy too (like myself) so do a scan with that too.

Johnny as you probably know your NetMD unit can't play back MP3 files natively and they must be converted to Atrac as part of (or before) the transfer process. If in doubt, i suggest you read over the rules for the software FAQ above (in pink) and do a couple of searches on MP3 transfer with Sonic Stage to NetMD devices. If that still gets you nowhere let us know a few specifics and we'll try to help you out.

Greenmachine - if you look in the processes tab, how much memory is being used by Firefox?

I'm not sure if this is actually the case as all JP models can display roman characters anyway. And because the RH1 only displays menus (and no titles) on the unit in english, this would not really be a requirement. The display of characters on the remote is determined I believe by the model of the remote (and how the characters were entered using the software). If I use a kanji-capable remote on my euro NH900 I can still display kanji on the remote regardless of the fact the unit doesn't display them.

To check your current version of SB, click on the Config button on the top right, then look in the version tab. I do think I may have experienced this once myself a long long time ago, but can't for the life of me remember what I did (if anything). As raintheory says try upgrading to version 2.0.05.25150 from the downloads section if you aren't already on it and lets us know how it goes.

Not much chance that Sony will bring out a Hi-MD deck for the time being. There is also the slightly more expensive Onkyo MD-133. If you are just connecting cd to md deck via optical in, I don't think there can be many interoperability issues. The Onkyo should be able to do synchro dubbing from any source. I would go for the Onkyo myself as it is more flexible.

Am I right in thinking the forum just got a little bluer? A lot of the black text seems to be dark blue now (including standard members names) - I quite like it

Not sure about the trackmarks question but the import of a cd should take around 10 mins on a fairly modern PC. If you rip to a bit rate that is compatible with the player you are transferring to you won't need to do any conversion - make sure the transfer settings are set to the "as-is" option so you can skip that. Finally transfer speeds using USB 2.0 on the RH1 should be much faster. NB: If you are trying to download standard old-school SP it will take longer as this is not fully compatible for downloads, merely LP2 dressed up as SP for backwards compatibility.

No, I agree that the whole "Moggiopoli" scandal is a very dark cloud and I'm sure there are more revelations to come. We have seen plenty of other drug related scandals in Italian football before relating to doping at clubs and so on, but I think the vast majority of Italian football fans are as outraged as the rest of world at what is happening and certainly don't want to see their national image tarnished yet again. It is certinaly unfair to punish an entire nation for the actions of those involved. I just wanted to say that in spite of all that and the fact that the 13 players in the Italian squad who play for the 4 main clubs involved in the current scandal are (so far) not implicated themselves, and even given some not so great performances so far in tournament ( USA & the highly dubious penalty decision against Australia included) the team yesterday played outstandingly well and really showed that they can play great football despite the mess at home.

To be honest that scandal revolves more around the club officals than the players themselves. It looks likely that the clubs involved will be severely punished, with Juventus going down to Serie C1 and Milan & Lazio in Serie B. In fact that's why I think in showing yesterday how to win a match the right way, they answered a lot of their critics.

I sympathize with the Germans as they have been great throughout the tournament and have shown real team spirit - but to be fair the Italians dominated this match even if they couldn't find the finishing touch right until the end.

It will record in Atrac3+ 64/256/PCM - but if it's the same as my bookshelf it will read all atrac3+ rates including 192,352 & Atrac 3 132 on Hi-MD formatted discs.
