Gilmore Lite Headphone Amplifier Pictorial (56k Warning)
Richard replied to streaml1ne's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
So are you using this just with portable MD as sources or do you also link up component players as well? (or do they not need an amp) -

On closer inspection you're right. That "Ultimate Team" photo had me thrown. Think I need to clean my laptop screen.. -
Bought 5 Bit Club Blanks from Levanel - great communication, fast shipping, discs still sealed. Great stuff - thanks

Great pictorial - I also look forward to the SQ analysis. PS: - Is that a gold NH1 or is it just the lighting effect? -

I will have to give it a try but if I also understood the manual correct you can program it to record from optical / line-in on a schedule too.
-
One of the nicest features on this unit is the timer capabilities. There are 4 timers each of which can be set to play or rec from various sources either once off or on a recurring schedule. And if I understood it correct the schedules can overlap. Eg. Timer 1 Rec from FM every Mon, Wed, Fri from 8am to 10am Timer 2 Play CD every day 10-11am Timer 3 Rec from CD to MD once at tomrorrow 9pm etc..
-
The FM presets work fine for me across the full range - I have some set at 100.3 and 99.4. The auto-scan also seems ok in these ranges too. Edit: Yes you are right that the auto-preset scan only finds the 10 strongest as far as 89.9. Ok. Haven't really noticed that before as I don't use the radio that much and the presets I do have were all set manually. I actually record digital radio to MD via the optical in. The CD Text function doesn't exist indeed. This doesn't really bother me too much.

Correct in Rotterdam have it listed at 369 EUR - seems more expensive than VideoPartner who when they did have had them at 290 or so. http://www2.correct.com/artikel.php?VOORRA...e33598506ff92f7 The RH10 doesn't have the HD Amp and the MP3 playback is better on the RH1. Erm.. I think there have been a few other comparison threads - also check out Marck's review at: http://www.mdcenter.nl/artikelen/mzrh1/index_en.php
-
The RH1 was in stock at VideoPartner.nl in Holland but they are now out of stock until June / July I think Marck said. I do not know if Media Markt or some other places in Rotterdam have them yet but can find out if you like. How long will your friend be over for? There seems to be something of a shortage worldwide at the moment until Sony produce more units.

It is basically an online database of music releases that allows you to catalog what you have, create wantlists, trade with other users, submit reviews etc..

Don't the Japanese RH10's come with 100-240V adaptor's anyway? In which case you only need the plug convertor (UK Visitor) available from any Argos / Dixons type store. If the label on the AC adaptor says 100-240V input you're fine. Edit: Just checked the JP RH10 manual and it seems to say it does come with the adaptor with 100-240V input. Further edit: Assuming your JP RH10 came with it's original adaptor all you need is something like this: But maybe that circular rim will get in the way of the pins, so if you can find a "flat" topped one that will probably be better.

Ultra-Edit is absolutely superb at doing search and replaces, and search and replace within columns etc.. XMLSpy is also very good, but I only use it occasionally - I'm not sure it can do the search in directory...
-
Nice tip Sparky! I actually use UltraEdit quite a bit at work, but hadn't actually thought of doing this. Good job!

Thanks for replying Bob & Jacques - I'll contact you shortly via PM

I'm not sure if that is a good idea as it will probably really make me go and get one
-
Now there's an idea @Jaylen - great pics indeed. It is funny how we say we "need" to acquire some of these units. I really "need" to acquire a red DH10P, blue NH3D and silver RH1 as well!
-
Look good so far at my end too. Bit of a slow install, but otherwise fine. (Will have to re-edit all the xml files though to get the clear type back...)

Bought this DVD at the airport on my way back from London: Also ordered some SA-5000 'phones a couple of days ago.

So what you're saying is that cd ripped to MP3 and transcoded to Atrac3+ gives better bass than cd ripped direct to Atrac3+? Interesting theory...

Just wanted to test the water to see if anyone out there would be interested in trading some ambient / electronica / downtempo type stuff. I can trade reformatted 80 min discs or 1GB discs if applicable ideally at 256k or higher. Most of the music I have of this genre can be found in my discogs.com profile at: http://www.discogs.com/user/richyhu Labels I wouldn't mind getting into bit more include Kompakt / City Centre Offices / Mole Listening Pearls etc... but I am open to all ideas... Cheers, Rich PS: As you can see from my profile I'm based in Europe, but am happy to trade discs with members from anywhere in the world.

Thanks for the comments Yes you are right - the EH1 can only be charged whilst in the cradle.
