damnit connect's been on all night but all the track properties still say No ArtistLink data found.

I have to be using .NET framework 1.1 ok lol another question, if i specify only 2000 keys to be gen'd and i end up exceeding 2000 songs on my player, what would i have to do? start again? I really want to get all my music on the a3k and gym working so i can delete all the music off my pc and use the player as my portable music library that can be hooked up to be played back thru a pc (speakers!)

even when CP is set to manual sync? should my proxy settings be set to use the default proxy settings of my browser (first choice) or No proxy (second choice) ? i am connected through a router to my dsl modem

It depends what you want the PSP for... If you want it because it'll function as a multi-purpose gadget I suppose why not. But if you're looking for a handheld gaming console I would say go with the Nintendo DS, better games. The only games really worth buying for the PSP are Liberty City Stories and Burnout.

it also sounds cleaner or crisper or whatever. with sp on it sounds rather subdued or muffled. the difference is more apparent when using speakers.

i left connect and the internet on and my player plugged in over night several times and nothing updated, and i lost the link between the two sample tracks. and i have never seen netstat accessing gracenote. could it be anything to do with the region you select when you first install CP? actually thinking about it, it could be because i delete songs that have been transferred from the library, so maybe that's why artistlink doesn't get updated. iunno. i keep some songs in the library though.

yeah i think somebody else mentioned that. to be frank i don't remember what colour the main buttons used to be, i have a vague impression they were lit orange, but memories can be created by influence. i can't complain, they look fine lit in white and they distinguish themselves from the AL button, so whatever. yes the main buttons are always white for me. yours aren't? okaaay!!!! that's f***ing weird! i think the way it works is if the lights/screen are off and you press the artistlink button, the main buttons will glow in orange. if the lights are already lit pressing ArtistLink won't affect the main buttons which stay lit white. is this what everyone else is getting?

SP needs to be set to off and it does not matter where you get your firmware from. the A-Pac site is terrible, just use the sonydigital-link page. Or there's a direct link to the 2.01 firmware on the site somewhere.

The whole not being able to use the EQ with mp3s really put me off my purchase a few months ago. That plus the d-pad issue which seems to have been fixed anyway. But once I saw snaps of the NWA3000 I knew I was right to wait. The replaceable battery would've been better if it were some sort of standard battery format like the old MD gum-stick batteries than something that (I think) is completely unique only to that player.

Hypnotize is far better. I went out and bought her album, it's fantastic. Paperface might be too indie/underground for their lyrics to be published, but you could try transcripting it... no luck on finding the lyrics i'm afraid.

Yes if you read the first few posts, it has alread been stated that using SonicStage will disable some functions of the NWA1k/3k that need CONNECT to work, for example ArtistLink, Top100, Playback History etc.

I'm pretty sure the front and back faceplates won't fall off any time soon, they must be attached together some how, probably with screws. Like the first few posts have said, the gaps may only be a result of the device not being put together well and if it were possible, it would be much simpler to simply take the player apart and reassemble it to see if it fits better. unfortunately the instructions on taking it apart are rather vague and afaic taking apart new hardware has never ended happily. sooo i'm going to pursue a replacement because it's not my fault the gaps are so large.

please don't neglect wmp if you don't have to, i'm not hardcore enough for winamp, i quit like three years ago. couldn't handle all the plugins

what about wireless infra-red remotes? that would be sweeet. especially for use with the a1k/3k speaker dock.

hmmm maybe it was intentional on part of sony and they plan to officially introduce it with the american release. that's awesome

I'm pretty sure its caused by the same problem, the sub-par size of the fitting between the front and rear face plates and that middle metal thing. Change it if possible. If dust is getting in then other harmful small particles will too

Some how I don't think it's likely.. Creating a custom EQ profile doesn't work? I haven't noticed any changes with my ArtistLInk button, but then again I don't play with it much. I like to treat it as an aesthetic add-on more than anything else. Never, ever seen it turn white.

I think CONNECT transfer is quite fast and painless. Everything else could be better though. Congratulations on your purchase rubenlentz.
