I can't remember at what point my install hanged, but I do know I had to do it a few times before it finally installed. Wierd huh? I never really understand why it would have. Just keep at it. Make sure your computer is nice and clean before you try (windows update, registry clean [CCleaner], defraged, irrelevant programs shutdown, etc etc)

Yup, save yourself the headache and get yourself a 6 pack and start on building anew. Best to make DVD back ups of all music files so in case it happens again, so work is easier. PS Your comment about the long timeframe it takes to open, is most likely due to CONNECT being connected online. I do not have CONNECT, but I believe there is a setting you can have to turn off the activity SS has with online CONNECT.

Welcome to ATRACLIFE JK, Let me just make sure I know the story. You have a SS version (3.4 ?) on your computer and you are trying to upgrade to 4.0 right? Its not happening and you want to go back to 3.4 ? FYI - the database structure set up is different in both 4.0 and 3.4. So if ever soemthing goes wrong installing 4.0, you won't be able to go back. The only option is start anew.

Man, I keep hearing about this problem. I am glad that I do not experience this. When I rip, I use another program (Audiocatlyst) and rip to MP3 128/160/192 then import into SS then upload to my DAP and finally erase from the SS library. Would this not be a clean way for you others? Or is it that you do it because you want the atrac format?
