    taometer

a few users have commented about this prior to your post i think and yes i can also say that the file is NOT an update since i've d/l it and installed it as well...
  2. i haven't seen them on the asia or australasia websites either...maybe it's just region specific??? just a thought...
  3. in terms of storage teh ipod is one of the best hdd based mp3 players out there bar none...has heaps of storage space and is very cheap per mb if you think about it...that and it holds a stack of mp3's...too bad the battery life sux and it can't record...weight is reasonable but no where near as light as an md...but i use mine mainly for backup purposes...
  4. i don't think it's easy to unsolder the D/A chip...coz i think it's usually mounted nearly directly on the board and the solder is hard to heat up enough (in that it won't fry teh chipset and/or damage teh other components) to make it easy to take off and replace teh chipset....if it is bust just go to a Sony repair center and get them to change the internals for you...but yeh try recording in real-time first as Bazirker said...
  5. hmm maybe that's y then...coz i would've thought m3u2usb worked properly in terms of transfering titles...oh well...
  6. using a program such as SonicStage/OpenMG and titling them by keyboard will help slightly...but if you transfer via SimpleBurner the track titles don't get transfered...only if you transfer through SonicStage/OpenMG/Real One the ID3 tags on the mp3's get transfered...
  7. i'm not 100% sure if the drivers that came with the N10 will work with that unit but it's worth a shot...i've u/l those drivers to my ftp site which can be found here...if not then i'm sure BerkY can maybe somehow get them over to u...

    Sony MZ N10

nope KJ_Palmer ur right...u can't turn off the display on the N10...i think the problem also is the contrast levels...try that first...
  9. i doubt it...i'm sure there are many AMD users out there that don't experience these problems...try converting the files to a .wav format and transfering that across and see what happens...
  10. you can find where the OpenMG/SonicStage puts the .omg files : For SonicStage : by just clicking on the Menu button on the bottom left then go to Options...from there there should be an option on the left box called Location to save the recorded files...clicking on that will show you where SonicStage puts them....just copy and paste that directory into Windows Explorer and go to that directory and delete all the .omg files there... For OpenMG : this is a similar method since OpenMG and SonicStage are essentially the same program just with a different GUI (though OpenMG 2.2 and SonicStage 1.2 look exactly alike...) Go to the menu on the top bar called Tools then Options the from there a box will pop up with a few tabs on the top...clicking on the one named CD Recording/Playing 1 and going about 1/2 down the screen you will see an option called Settings for CD Recording and below that a box where it tells you the Location to save the recorded file...copy and paste this in Windows Explorer to open up the directory and delete the .omg files...
  11. quite a few...haven't counted them all yet...but yeh most of the ones that i've previously owned i've already sold off...just a few remain still with me...
  12. yup NRen2k5 just answered the q for u...=) but i would stay away from the MS70D if i were you...i bought one recently thinking it was really cool (believe me it is) but a few short comings on the battery life and memory cost per MB is enough to put most ppl off...that and it can't record...but otherwise it is a fine unit...MD's are relatively cheap nowdays so it's a good buy...
  13. if you want all the bells and whistles of a flagship model take a look at the N910 model...very nice model that one...=) BerkY owns one and will back me up on this one hehe...^^ you could alternatively look at the Sharp DR580 as well...that is also one fine model...but the bottom line is both of them are sufficient enough for wot u need 2 do...
  14. you need to install SonicStage/OpenMG for SimpleBurner to work...they all rely on the same software "engine"...that and install the NetMD drivers and you should be good to go...
  15. it is fixable but i think you have to take it in to a repair shop to get it fixed up...this may cost a bit since it's outside the warranty period...this happens to older units after they've take a fair beating...(i.e the 722 unit i have here the buttons don't work @ all...)

    mp3size

not to my knowledge...i transfer 2hr trance mixes fine and they're encoded in .wav or 320kbps mp3 files...

    audio-books

you can probably chop up the file as well with a software package such as Adobe Audition or something similar (Nero wav editor might work??? not too sure since i haven't used it to do this...)...
  18. nope they still remain and i don't think Sony's in too much of a hurry changing it either...i'd suggest that u take a look at the newer Sharp range of NetMD capable units such as the DR580...they are quite a step forward over the 831...so yeh should take a look and see for yourself...
  19. yup...it basically does it on-the-fly when you start transfering mp3's from PC -> MD...otherwise u can choose to optimise the file while within the software...
  20. yup i agree take a look at the new DR580 unit from Sharp...very good unit for recording live...
  21. yeh i was getting 2 the drivers part once i could find the file that is small enough to shove up on my FTP site...
  22. yeh but there's a pretty big time difference between the MS702 and ur N910 unit...so it's expected that it will be bigger than the N910...
  23. Sony EX71's or E888SP's...i own both and will recommend them...
  24. u can download the program from here...u need it to d/l music to your MD...also you only need a USB port to be able to connect it from PC -> MD...
