this is SCMS kicking in...copyright protected media most likely..to get around this i think it'll be better to go through a computer to record to bypass the SCMS...or record through analogue...

yep the N910 does have rehearsal and the Power Options...(i'm quite sure it has the Power Options since i've had a muck around with my friend's unit but not too sure about the Rehearsal since i didn't try it out...) the N910 as u said is basically identical to the N10 (i own this unit) but just with different button placements and also utilising a NiMH gumstick battery instead of the internal Li-Ion...everything in terms of features and options are more or less identical from what i've seen...
-
yup Real One should work with the S1 without any problems... you could try this site and use these programs as well...
-
the N707 cannot have 6 band EQ or V-surround settings since this wasn't introduced in this series...(i.e. the models N1/N707/N505) it was introduced when the N10 came out and the models there after (i.e. N10/N910/NF810/N710...etc) so the only sound controls that you can do is change the Bass and Trebble settings...
-
well only Sony NetMD capable recorders can use this cable and it also depends on the model as well...not entirely sure about the N910 but the N10 uses a different cable so it's pointless trying to use this USB cable on that unit...otherwise the N7xx series and below should use the same cable input as your N505 unit so it shouldn't be a problem using this cable with these units...
-
check the other thread that you've posted this question on...i've tried to help you out there...
-
so you've also tried to turn off all EQ settings and everything as well as check that the volume is turned up on both the windows Volume control and the programs that you are recording from...
-
yep i agree with Nick S. above...try getting a can of compressed air and try blowing out the sand particles...if this doesn't work then remove the top lid of your MD unit and see if you can find anything particles anywhere...if so then try getting it out...if it's in a really tight spot and the blower can't get to it then no choice but to take the whole thing apart and get it out...

Bass reduction in live recordings using editing program???
mAjEsTiC replied to a topic in Live Recording
i agree with sudden...go and d/l goldwave since it is a far better program than nero wav editor... -
um u can't get the "blue" type of backlight...it is in fact a aqua green colour that is evident on all of the remote units that i've owned...(ok maybe not Aiwa units since they are pretty blue and some Sharp units) but all sony one's that i've used are aqua green colour...it's just that the pictures somehow turn up blue when the picture is taken depending on th amount of ambient lighting and type of lighting i think...coz i keep getting different results with my digi cam when i take pictures of my remote with the backlight turned on...
-
well it is better to d/l it and then get the update that way instead of copying the WHOLE Real folder since the dll files and all need to be registered in the computer's registry to run...i got funny errors when i transfered it just like that on my computers...
-
from the reports that i've been hearing this unit will NOT have an optic output...
-
you can put music onto MD's but you need to buy special MD data media as well as the data MD drive...these are rare to find except maybe in Japan...
-
that means that it's been entered into the memory so when u eject the disc out and put it back it in should retain your volume level, sound, playmode and group preference when you entered it into the PDM...
-
this would be a software problem and not a hardware problem...try to re-install SonicStage or OpenMG or woteva and try to transfer again...if that doesn't work d/l a free program such as Real One Player wit the NetMD plug-in and see if it will be able to transfer music across...if none of these will work then it would probably be your NetMD driver that is giving you these problems and try to re-install this...if none of these work and you suspect that it is indeed your recorder try to record normally through Optic In/Line In and see if the unit records...if not then you have a hardware problem and should go to a repair store and get the to take a look at it...otherwise try using different software first or re-installing...

well the ES in general is indeed very good as u said...the 30ES is anold unit and does not utilise MDLP recording/playback nor does it use the ATRAC Type R DSP either...the 707 recorder uses the Type R ATRAC DSP for SP recordings which is pretty good since it boosts the processing capabilities of normal ATRAC...so you get better recordings in a way...other than that i don't think that the 30ES would lose out on much in the Digital recording part.... otherwise if u can streth the budget you could buy a normal deck that is out these days...or even a QS series deck...both of these should have Type R/S DSP and also MDLP capability...and some even have NetMD capabilities...soo all in all it's up to u in the end...

actually the N710 does have a Mic Input so you don't have to buy a powered mic to be able to record to the unit...so any unpowered mic will be able to work on this model... well yes you can buy backlit remotes for both units...the part # is RM-MC35ELK or RM-MC33EL for these remotes i think...both are backlit and the former is the one's that are shipped out with japanese units and can display kanji whereas the latter is shipped with australian and (i think) european models of the MZ-N10/910...you can buy them from most internet sites i would imagine...but since i'm not too familiar with the internet sites outside of australia i could point you to the one that i normally suggest ppl go to if u live in Australia and that is Minidisc Australia since they stock up on them... well if you want the quality then yes this is your best bet...i usually just use LP2 most of the time but when recording for friends who don't have MDLP units then Optic -> MD from a CD Player is the way to go... well it is indeed "useable" but i wouldn't recommend you use it much since the quality is quite bad...bit rate wise it is around about 96kbps...tho it is good for recording lectures and such...but otherwise not much else unless you don't mind the decline in quality and need to cram heaps of music onto one MD... hope this helps....

Bass reduction in live recordings using editing program???
mAjEsTiC replied to a topic in Live Recording
i'm not too sure about Nero 6 sound editor but usually you can analyse the whole sound signature and cut down on the bass with one of the filters... -
the S and L just denote different colours...i think S stands for silver and L stands for blue...they are exactly the same unit tho...
-
i hav both the N1 and the N10...i think that the N1 has better sound than the N10 which sounds IMO a little weak...but it is lighter and thinner other than that i kind of like my N1's battery life as well as the sound output...the one i would suggest out of all of them if u can stretch the budget is the N1 or the N910 because of the size, battery life, weight and feature advantages that it has over the other models....
-
is this recording from NetMD (OpenMG/SonicStage/SimpleBurner/Real One) or from LINE/MIC IN???
-
well they can read the disc but you won't be able to hear any music coming out so yes you can only record in SP mode for it to be able to playback your music...
-
well i can't say exactly when coz it all depends on how much u use it and also how you treat the unit...it can range from a few months to many years i can't say for sure how long since hard drives fail at different rates depending on how you use it...but treating it properly would probably see that you get the best out of it for many years...
-
are u asking about how long they last as in the hard drive itself before it fails or the battery life???
-
just select which playlist you want them to be put into (i.e. select it or highlight it in SOnicstage/OpenMG, i use OpenMG since it seems less of a hassle to put things into playlists than Sonicstage) and then just transfer...make sure the playlist is highlighted/selected before you transfer or the software will by default automatically make another one...
