it should be halfway down the Edit menu...once it's optimized then it should allow you to divide it...
-
did you try the divide function in the edit menu of openmg??? i think that would work...
-
well i'd say the ipod has gr8 sound...i own 1 and the sound is pretty darn good in comparison with other mp3 players out there (i also own 2 panasonic SD players and one sony ms walkman)...the music recorded on MD in SP mode sounds really really good...LP2 to most people is as good as SP since most people can't tell the difference between the two...and if you want really powerful sound in an MD u can't go past the Sharp units...
-
um u can divide the track up within OpenMG by basically making sure that the file that you want to split up is in ATRAC format (already been "optimized") and then just highlight the song and then go to the EDIT menu and select the option Divide... then use the slider to tell where you want to split the file up...then once that's done it should create 2 song files in which u can transfer them over to the MD...(sorry i could be wrong because i hav'n divided track in OpenMG in a long time)

um well i never charge those batteries in the unit newayz...usually they come with an option of buying them with a charger (i.e. the Sony one's do) and it'll be best charging them through there...and amount of hours...i have nooo idea since i havn't done a comparison but it would be longer than than of an alkaline AA could supply...
-
N707 uses a AA battery soo ur best bet is buying a pack of those high capacity NiMH's they have out now (2000mAh+) and basically use them...i use them in my attachment cases on long trips on my units...
-
well yeh more or less...so long as it is powered as well as it's convenient to plug into the MD (i.e. the plugs fit) and you should be right...
-
i hav'n yet been able to fix it unfortunately...but i will shove those pictures on the 722 unit (on my ftp site) showing you how 2 fix the eject switch if you still want them that is...
-
well u could record to the MD through real-time method and do trackmarks like that....but if you do end up doing it on PC and there is a slight lag then i think you can burn it on a cd specifying that you don't want any spaces inbetween the songs and then transfer to MD using SimpleBurner (just use the Nero + SimpleBurner method since it's a lot more convenient)
-
if say u got an mp3 and basically record it optically (or with a mic) through the PC's optic out then you can do more or less whatever you want to the song...but if you transfer it using OpenMG or SonicStage then it limits you to what you can do to the song since it also transfers this protection crap rendering the song more or less useless other than to listen to it...
-
if u'v transfered it through the PC using the NetMD interface then this will happen to u since once the song is transfered u can't do much else to it except change the position and edit the title...everything else has to be done through the PC i'm afraid...
-
well just ask if the mic that you're buying is powered (i.e. is battery powered or otherwise) and it usually isn't digital...easiest way 2 get mics is to pop down to your nearest sony retailer and ask around for their mics...they usually work releatively well with most ppl...
-
u need 2 get a powered mic in order to record through ur unit's LINE IN socket...
-
the difference between the "N" and the "E" in the model numbers is that the "N" denotes that the unit is NetMD capable (and in this case the MZN510 is a portable NetMD capable recording unit) whereas the "E" denotes that it is a playback only unit (the MZE510 is a playback only unit and u can't use it 2 record) so unless you've already got an MD recorder then don't buy the MZE510 otherwise you have no means of recording music onto MD's (unless a friend with a recorder is willing to help you out here) but yeh this is more or less the only differences between the two units...one is an MD recorder the other is an MD player...
-
i don't think so...because i havn't found an option which will allow me to do so...
-
the MZ-R55 manual can be found here in a pdf format... if i'm not mistaken the adaptor should say that it outputs DC 3V and 500mA... not too sure on this but the software that you can use (and that i've used in the past) to record from PC -> MD through Line or Optic is with a small program called mp32md...this little program can add track marks inbetween tracks automatically (so long as you have sync record turned on) but it isn't able to title the songs from the PC since there's no interface (like the USB interface used on the NetMD capable units) going from your PC -> MD allowing it to input the song titles directly onto the unit...

i'd b glad 2 help answer any q's u might have about ur new unit but i'm not sure what type of tips you were after exactly...

can normal 3.5mm jack earphones replace the MD ones?
mAjEsTiC replied to zero_mac's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
it should be fine...the remote from the R50 onwards use the normal 3.5mm stereo plug and not the proprietary microplug that sony use to use on their remote pre-R50... -
usually when it says the MD can accept digital in (OPTIC IN) it usually means that the unit can accept a 3.5mm TOSLink cable for digital recording from a source...the soundcards at present accept both a proprietary Creative Digital Out jack for their speaker sets (can't be used with anything other than their speakers), SPDIF interface and a TOSLink interface....the usual one includes the TOSLink interface using a square connector for output so you'd be fine if you had a soundcard with this connection...

whoever answers this is probably a freakin geniuss
mAjEsTiC replied to jothambose's topic in Software
if the transfers were done through NetMD then i think you can't format it with any unit whether NetMD capable or non-NetMD capable because the track is protected... -
yep if it says that it has an optic in then it can be used for digital recording...
-
well so long as a unit utilises the Type R/S dsp i think that the recording is going to be better than one that doesn't...but since the new portables utilises Type S i don't see how it make that much of a difference over the same dsp that's used on a deck...but then again i do admit that u do get better recordings from a deck than on a portable unit due to the higher quality electronics involved but i mean if you're not using it for a profession then i'd say that the portables should suffice...
-
use the line out from the laptop's soundcard to the line in on the md unit...play your mp3's through winamp or a program like mp32md and then hit the record switch...
-
but beware with the 33EL remote that the button arrangement on the remote get changed when using the remote on the first generation md units...
