    Buying A Md

How much info is "too much"?
  2. Test #4 interests me. What're your system specs?
  3. Something I would like to ask y'all is what keeps people coming back to a forum? Sheer popularity, diverse topics, dynamic content, etc?
  4. You can get to know me anytime! Just PM me and we'll shoot the breeze. And this Georgia endeavor will not be new employment, but rather college. I dunno if I'll be around as much by then. Only time will tell, but to be honest, I deserve a long break. Plus, with this new forum software, I actually can chill out alot on worrying about things in the backend as everything is pretty much self-sufficient.
  5. Are you on an administrative user account? Additionally, what version of Sonicstage do you have?
  6. Yep, read the help documentation in the program.
  7. Nice thread.. You really don't want to know, but it's different in my case, being admin. [likely excuse! ] One of the main reasons why I'm around so much is that I work at a Cable ISP. What can we do inbetween calls? Surf the 'net. So of course, where do I go?
  8. Heather, I took care of Artstar's remark and he has been punished for such. He does not represent the type of people here who are willing to assist you, and I apologize that your first interactions here had to have such content.
  9. Yes, that program will do what you wish, but it's a shame your father is so restricting - Marcnet's program is superior in functionality.
  10. This is covered in your manual. To refresh ya, go to REC Set > Rec Mode and pick the desired bitrate. And yes, it should stay set. You will always have to put it in a manual recording mode - and the mic level can be set in "RECVolume".
  11. Download Sonicstage 2.3 from connect.com.
  12. Welcome, Heather. Did you read Marc's thread recently? He just updated it with pictures and all sorts of stuff to help a novice use his program effectively. His program is not unreliable in my tests [as well as others], and I would wholeheartedly recommend it over Sony's software. What you do though, plug in the unit, go into Sonicstage, transfer the recordings you made to your library. Open up Marcnet's utility, and then follow the step by step instructions in his thread.
  13. The cancel button on the unit will let you "go back".
  14. I haven't done much, but the new skin, "Rooq + MDCF" has been adjusted so the font is larger, which has made the text easier to read. Additionally, I added a new logo to it as well. I will play with it more later, but I actually like it enough to use it all the time. I'm still waiting for my graphics designer to finish the logo for the blue theme, as well.

    Shuttle Xpc

So..you going for SN45G? They should put the RAM latencies in their description(s). I'd go with the PQI 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM though, I suppose. It's hard to choose without latencies, because if you ever do get a x64 platform then you can benefit greatly from using fast, efficient ram. btw, that Shuttle XPC SN85G4 is sliiick. I like it alot. Too bad it isn't nForce3 250. I'd get the Maxtor 120Gb ATA133 2MB 7200rpm HDD, seems to be the best priced, but some of the prices there are head scratching..

I'd kill for a SN45, mate! [seriously, click on that link, hilarious shit. ] Anyway, get a gig of ram, ddr400/pc3200. That would probably be best for what you wish to do with this computer, and if you do upgrade to Socket 754/939 in the future, it will be compatible [unless you get a socket 939 that does DDR2]. If you do shop ram, ping this thread back up and I'll assist; I love this stuff. Plus, with a gig, it'll be less than a ton and have a hundred horse power. btw, your thread at the t-board about your issues with dialup, read this thread to assure it's nothing foul?
  17. If you're using Windows XP, make sure you're on an user account that has administrative rights. Additionally, make sure you have Service Pack 2 and Sonicstage 2.3. Fullfill those requirements and get back to me.

  19. You're right, and what I said was immature. It just really bothers me that his review was heralded as a piece that is trustworthy about the HD3, when there are several fallacies rampant. Yes, I know the earphones he is employing with such are probably the most susceptible to picking up such noises, but c'mon, no need to shout it from the rooftops and assume that every unit will have such issues. And the way Sonicstage is represented.. it just kills Sony. It's not that bad. The saddest thing? It's probably the most favorable view of Sony outside of these forums..
  20. I love you, Dex. If it succeeds, this will be a test that everyone here who uses uploading can be thankful for.
  21. That's the worst product review I've read in a long time.
  22. I understand. And it's not an underlined reference, it's a link you can click on..unless that's what you meant.
  23. I apologize, I quickread. You should try the track via the computer nonetheless..
  24. Get rid of RealPlayer and install Sonicstage 2.3 from connect.com. We no longer support OpenMG [the version you're using] here.
  25. Welcome, darjama.. The way it works is you click on the Music Source icon [make sure the drop down menu says "Record a CD"] - assure that the contents of the CD are on the left and "My Library" is on the right, and then set the desired format/bitrate and then hit the red record button. Additionally, please refer to the help documentation within Sonicstage 2.3.
