  1. I wish I knew more about portable amps. Alot of people seem to favor a Xin SuperMini, Pimeta, Mint and others. Head-fi.org/forums is a good place for information on portable amps, and headphones in general. Maybe read up there a bit and bounce back here?
  2. There have already been threads on this. A summation: Marc's utility kicks this square in the butt.
  3. Send "tmeg" a private message. Welcome to the forums, btw.
  4. Run windows update and then if that doesn't work, follow the directions in the NetMD faq found in this forum. Welcome, btw.
  5. Here's a really funny story: Christopher was introduced to this game by his friend, Mel. Christopher became very addicted. Christopher even went to the extent of spending REAL money to advance faster and look cool. Mel helped Christopher by teaching him the general ways of the game, and Christopher was thankful. For this, Christopher trusted Mel and they played many times together, pwning noobs and other various illiterate trolls. Christopher even went to the extent of giving Mel his password, so he could play under his character. Christopher even helped Mel spend his real money [paypal exchange] so he could advance faster and look cool. One day, Mel sold all of Christopher's items that he had spent REAL money on and bought things according to his likes without consent or even warning. Christopher was quite upset at this. Fortunately, Christopher got over this in a very short period of time and Mel + Christopher continued to play Gunbound. It was a very fun experience... ..until Gunbound banned Christopher's account, due to Mel allowing one of his mates at an internet cafe log into Mel's account and do naughty things. That account was linked to Christopher and the rest was history. Douchebag.
  6. Now that's really cool, mate! I think if my girlfriend gets me a black NH900 for Christmas I might go with this - and such a nice price! Where abouts you located in Maryland, anyway?
  7. Your best bet would be here: http://www.bargaining4all.com/catalog/defa...lt.php?cPath=32
  8. 5mW. I would recommend headphones from here or here. What's your maximum budget, anyways?
  9. This is a good route to go with. Sonicstage woes can be found here, but searching would probably do you better.
  10. bdawg, there is some basic [yet a bit outdated] info here.
  11. Welcome to the forums, btw.
  12. Welcome to the forums. I've taken your bump and put it in the bin, no more of that Mr. Anyway, Audacity is a good program. I actually donated to them not long ago. btw, how much are you going to pay for the NH1, or rather, where are you buying it?
  13. Never. I can't believe anyone uses it, ever. I just may very well put a firefox icon in the footer; I honestly hope that less people will use it.
  14. Awesome bangra, I might steal that and put it in a certain sticky a Mod here was supposed to finish..
  15. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2004Jun30.html p.s. - I wish to make sure the previous point I was trying to raise about religion and democracy [w/ Bush] was understood a little more clear; I was a little busy at work so I didn't give it my full attention. Nonetheless, it's very important at this time for Bush to completely alter the way he is doing business. I cannot stress church and state any more, but again and again Bush will cite it in his speeches [and his "actions"]. Ugh, listening to him talk is like a hammer hitting a nail, except this one is missing too often. It's very important that the role Bush plays can be one that a little more tasteful than this transgressor for peace and justice. If we had done this a little bit easier, with more sanctions and diplomacy, things wouldn't be so erratic. So, when we try to install this mentality, Democracy, hellions trying to reform the world according to our religion and way of life, what do we convey? What's stopping from these Democracies in the Middle East from acting on their religion? The consequences of George Bush leading the way he does is hurting us more than ever now, but it will scorn far worse in the future. Plainfully obvious is the fact that the image we send to the rest of the world will not only make us look like fools, but completely misrepresent the American way of life and image, and possibly the decline of a once-great nation. Doomsaying? It all starts somewhere. No "empire" lasts forever. This is so stupid. All of this. What is even the point of becoming intelligent? Sometimes I just wonder if things would be better in the stone age. At least we weren't smart enough to kill each other in massive quanities and procure feelings and emotions that should never have to be felt by anyone or anything in this universe. Do I sound like a hippy? Get off me, I am one. :rasp:
  16. What the hell is with that? Look at the new Minidisco banner I made in Firefox and then look at it in IE. :wacky: Damn you Microsoft!
  17. Something that I've come to really dislike about Bush is this, and this fact alone is why I didn't vote for him amongst the myriad of other negative facts that revolve around his presidency: The way he is representing democracy. If anyone here remembers, there is supposed to be a seperation between church and state. Bush has completely ignored this and has publicly stated that God has influenced a majority of his decisions. This is why he has won the election with such people; if you're a regular in the church and hear such sentiments from the President, and do not from the contender, who would you vote for? Furthermore, good job Bush. Let's adhere to religion and then institute Democracy abroad into places that are heavily influenced by religion. What's going to happen when these countries evolve in to Democratic states and then adhere to religion? :rasp: Then we've truely accomplished nothing. Additionally, the reason why he won the midwest is because I believe that the majority of the people there do not have a clear and valid opinion about the real workings of the United States. The reason why he has won in those states is because they don't have a clear view of the policies and actions that Bush has taken, whereas the businesses and people who have worldly endeavors that live on the coast(s) have clearly voted for what should've been. It's clearly evident that Kerry has won the majority of the east and west coast, with the exception of a few southern states [alot of those states were very close]. I can keep throwing facts into that sentiment, but I don't need to. Do some research and you'll see what I'm speaking of.
  18. haha, that's a good one Hyena. Should I be buying you a ticket as well? All in all, the only justification I can really have for Bush is that we're in the middle of a major confrontation and never in the history of the United States have we switched presidents in such a scenario. But then again, was this confrontation necessary? Aren't the true problems in North Korea and other seemingly unstable nuclear countries? Only time will tell. Iraq is irrelevant to me now. My thoughts are to the west..and hopefully that Bush will be able to ride the wave so that we can at least see 2008 without another World War.
  19. Intro Hello, Since I work for a technical support department within an internet service provider, I have had the chance to diagnosis and repair more than a thousand computers riddled with viruses + spy/ad-ware. Through those excruitating sessions, I have had to adopt a common plan of attack to not only process the call(s) steadfast, but to assure that the person would not call the week after with the same issue. First off, if it's been a while, or you've never done so before [and if applicable], update your version of Windows. This can be done here. Not only critical to your hypothetical Sonicstage installation, it's important to the security of your computer. Windows isn't flawless, but if you remember the Sasser and msblaster attacks of long ago, a disclaimer isn't necessary. There were patches for those viruses months before the world nearly fell to it's knees because of such. ---------- Internet Browsers Still using Internet Explorer? Why? Mozilla Firefox is a browser that is superior in functionality to IE, and features flexibility in which IE has never seen. Tabbed browsing, pop-up blocking, less susceptibility to ad/spy-ware, great search, excellent RSS implentation and more. And it's free! I promise you, once you try it, you will not go back. I would also suggest Opera if you're not keen on Firefox. The only flaw with Firefox is that it doesn't play nice with the aforementioned Windows Update [or rather, ActiveX], and the next service I'm about to mention: ---------- Anti-Virus Trendmicro, the new and undoubted frontrunner for anti-virus solutions, has a free online virus scan, aka Housecall. I've been using this since day one for quick diagnosis and repair at work and I will recommend it to you as well. Remember, I am speaking from the experience of dealing with more than a thousand virus + spy/ad-ware infestations. Additionally, the internal network at work that once employed Norton Corporate edition last year, switched to Trendmicro's Corporate edition this year. Additionally, if you use Windows XP, temporarily turn off system restore whilst running a virus scan to ensure a full virus scan, as I have seen viruses hide in restore points. You can also purchase [and demo] Trendmicro's desktop software here. It's ESSENTIAL that you use something for anti-virus protection, espesically if you have a broadband connection. I actually don't even use anti-virus software. I am very keen on my network usage through checks of my ping times [manually + games + via work], logs from my router [which I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone] that deal with incoming/outgoing transmissions, and a few other utilities. When things don't look kosher, I run the Housecall scan. Nonetheless, I cannot recommend you do what I do. But, I do recommend that even if you employ an anti-virus suite or software utility, please use the free online scan at Trendmicro, aka Housecall as an addendum to assure you're truly virus free. I've seen numerous cases where a user will employ Norton, McAfee or even AVG with active and updated subscriptions and trendmicro's free online scan will find something they haven't. If you are not keen on Trendmicro, or choose not to buy it after the demo is over, then I would suggest AVG as a desktop solution, but with a Housecall scan as an addenum every so often. I will never recommend Norton or McAfee to anyone except a complete novice to computers. There was once an era where those two were the trusted solutions, but after my experiences I can no longer believe such. Plus, they're bloatware! I can't even begin to tell you how much Norton can hog your system, and the same goes with McAfee.. ---------- Ad/Spy-ware Another big issue with computers that are on the internet consistantly is ad/spy-ware; I would assume out of my experiences that more than 85% of all Windows machines have some form of it. This isn't that sensitive of a subject if you use Mozilla Firefox/Opera, but if you're still on the IE bandwagon it hits you like a ton of bricks probably every day. Even if you're still using Firefox/Opera, I recommend still scanning for such every so often. Use these utilities: - Ad-Aware SE. - Spybot S&D. Either one is fine, but I only use Ad-Aware. In my experiences, I have found that Ad-Aware will consistantly find more infections than Spybot, but I have seen cases where Spybot will find certain things that Ad-Aware will not. Some people like to use both utilities, but in my opinion I believe Ad-Aware is the better avenue. It's important that if you employ such a program [which I really recommend], you keep it updated! Running a scan without updated defintions is a moot point! This goes for whatever anti-virus solution you use as well. ---------- Useless/Insecure Windows XP/2000 Services WILL ADD SOON
  20. George Bush has won. I'm moving to another country..
  21. If SP2 is installed, uninstall via the directions in the NetMD faq and get back to me. Don't use RealPlayer, it's garbage.
  22. I agree with Kaotic. You can get a really nice dual-layer internal dvd writer [with cd-writing capability] and buy an external case. I would suggest NewEgg for this venture.. If you decide not to follow that path, and you must buy external, just get a combo dvd/cd-writer drive. I purchased the DRX-700UL and it's really really nice. I actually would suggest an external writer based on my experiences with such.. Maybe you could find a DRX-530UL for a good price? p.s. Do you have usb 2 and/or firewire?
  23. Read some of the discoveries in this thread.
