Just curious: what is your "MiniDisc conversion" story?
Christopher replied to FTS2090's topic in The Loft
I'm a late bloomer. Before 2001, my portable music device experience was limited to a rather poor Aiwa CD player and various handheld radios. Around the time of 2000/2001, there was no iPod and MD was really starting to take off with the introduction of MDLP. I begged my Mum for a MZ-R700 for Christmas, and I got my wish. I remember having just one Sony 80 minute MD that I would burn all kinds of random stuff onto via male/male stereo cable -- nothing was better than feeling of accomplishment from spending the time to complete a realtime recording. I remember dabbling in live recording, using a cheap PC mic to record myself playing bass or experiences with my friends (I'll be uploading those sometime soon). It was the most interesting device I had ever owned in my life up to that point. I bought myself a MZ-E505 a bit later to compliment the recorder, as I felt very strong about preserving the recording head on the R700. A few units later, I still use a NH900 from time to time for live recording, something which I have alot of interest in doing next year. -

Well, thanks for the kind words brian10161 -- it's nice to have you a part of the community.

Sonicstage runs real well on my PC and pretty much has since v2.x -- it really depends on how you take care of your system. More than half the problems that people experience are not a direct result of Sonicstage, but rather another component that was not up to date or something along those lines. Plus there's the random variable that a virus can induce, and I would say more than half the people who visit these forums have a virus in one form or another.

How much do these go for? Seems a bit unusual to have this as a mixer -- I remember a time when a MD mixer came out however, perhaps the iPod has reached its midlife crisis?

Hot on the wallet, too. Looks like it'll be canned corn for about the next half year.

A Sony Vaio TX651.

Myself, looking sleazy.

It's interesting to observe the behavior of forum users. For example, many people here have multiple accounts and post under them. Why? Doesn't make any sense to me.
-
Definitely.

As I've said, you can go to the lower left and change your skin accordingly. You do not have to use this skin. If there is anything else you come across as troublesome pleae report it here, no matter how small it may be to you. Thanks

I can look into it. You know where it's at, right? Lower left side.
-
I'm still working on the new skin.
-
It is a weird skin, eh! I like it, but it will indeed take some getting used to. You may always use a different skin, as per the options at the bottom left of forum.

I dunno, they didn't have my contact info and the other webmaster is out of town. So, shit happens I guess. I was pretty annoyed.

Our host cut us off because we were consuming too much bandwidth per second. Sorry about the downtime.

When we needed a moderator, I had asked him and he subsequently declined -- he is quite busy these days and I can understand why one may not want to fulfill that role.

Hello friend, please inquire about this unit at our sister forum, ATRACLife Colloquium.
-
I would strongly recommend the NH900 or NH700 for this scenario.

Welcome to the forums. Your English is great, keep up the good work! Anyway, you may want to try using MarCNeT's Hi-MD Renderer as it now has NetMD uploading functionality like WinNMD. Otherwise you're bound to realtime.

You say you have Service Pack 1+2? Which is it? If you have 1, immediately upgrade to 2. Nonetheless, Try reinstalling via the directions in the FAQ. Sounds like you have a corrupted install.

Welcome. Have you read this? http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11256

Only Hi-MD discs can import audio to the computer via USB. For uploading audio from your unit in such a manner, you will need to do it in realtime. There are several faq's about this in the forum. I believe your MXS20's drivers are not being recognized by Sonicstage. It would be best to install the drivers for the unit and then install Sonicstage, but I am not entirely sure if that will work.
