Try cleaning the battery contacts and the terminals inside the machine if you can, a Q-Tip soaked in alcohol should work, Bob

Hi Richu, Was going to be a day off work, but had to fix an outboard motor this morning. Wifes off in Canada looking after her sister who just had a stroke, so I'll probably go out for dinner tonight. Will probably listen to a bit of music, dull rainy day, so most of it will be indoors. Thanks for the thought, Bob

Not directly with Sony, but anything I've got that was refurbished has been as good as new, what a buy, wonder if they deliver to Little Cayman?? Would look nice with my DAT recorder when I get it next week!! Bob

Right now watching Giorgio Moroder's version of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis", loved it twenty odd years ago, still love it, great movie, music fits, see it Bob

get a USB turntable, or a turntable and preamp to your line-in Bob

Watched The Gods must be crazy 1 and 2 last night, and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade the night before. Do wish Sean Connery would have agreed to be on the new one Bob

today it took a while for the videos to play, could be a bandwidth fault Bob

Have you checked the disc to see if there was anything recorded on it, maybe the mode got switched? Possibility that maybe someone turned it off? Try again with another disc, I've found for the really long stuff it's safer to use a 1 gig, Good luck Ride the Valkyrie for me Bob

Just came back to another old friend, The Kick Inside by Kate Bush, still excellent after all these years

Thanks, should be fun, Bob

Just finished Chrome Dreams 11 by Neil Young, and Long Road out of Eden by The Eagles, shows the guys who have been around a while still know how to put out something good, let's see if Coldplay will be able to do it in 30 years, (don't think they can do it now!!) Bob

Hi Malcolm, all you need is an RCA to 1/8" adapter into your line input. You may have to configure your mic to be line input, but that should be fairly easy, I do it on my NH1 all the time. There have been plans for an analog to optical converter, should be here on the forum if you look, but if I were me I'd go for the RCA to 1/8. Good luck, Bob

a drop of WD40 on the mechanism!!?? Rubber bands !!?? Good luck, Bob

Thanks Chris, I was waiting to see pictures, fulfilled my wildest dreams. NOT!!

beautiful machine isn't it? Bob

If I were me I still wouldn't pass MD's by, The B100 would work for you, as would the NH 700, 800, etc, as well as the RH1 or M200. Have fun, Bob
-
try playing around with bitrates, some transfer quicker than others. either way they are all faster than real time. Take care, and welcome back Bob
-
on a budget, the NH700 will do you fine, try to stay away from the downloaders (D after the number eg 600D), If you are content not to have line in or mic recording, then the down loaders are fine, just makes sense to have more options. If you're willing to go a few steps forward, go for the RH1 or M200, thn you will be able to digitally upload your 707 discs, Have fun, Bob
-
for a disc to be able to play on your MZ1, you have to go into your transfer menu of SS( hopefully you are using at least 3.4. if not 4.2 or 4.3 if you're on Vista ), and set your transfer option to SP. If you use a Hi-MD option, even on 80 minute the 1 won't recognize it. Good luck, Bob

Happy Birthday divalozvegas, hope all is well, and your life is getting better, Bob
