Just watched Enemy of the State last night. I've had the pleasure of meeting the author of the book that the movie was based on a couple of times, interesting individual, much of the movie is based on fact. Bob

Try the Atraclife forum, and a different set of phones. Bob

Don't you hate it when that happens. Any way of fooling SS to recognize what you have? What about a portable hard drive enclosure with a CD in it through your USB, works with a hard drive, should work with a cd. Good luck and use the force as well as the source!! Bob

I've got an old Hi-end Sony, unfortunately at work right now so I can't give model number, it plays everything I've thrown at it, no pitch, but fully programmeable. I've also got a Revox in Canada, perhaps the most well built piece of equipment I've ever seen. Some of the DJ CD turntables look interesting, a couple of Pioneers on the island, seem to be holding together quite well, considering the humidity and salt air. Try ebay, or bhphotoworld, they have a lot on site and in catalogs. Have you used any of your MD equipement patched into the system, may work quite well. Bob

Sounds like dream gig to me, 4 hours to play what you want, such a wide field, you could go forever without repeats. for me, just finished Unanswerable Lust by Luxuria, what memories, great album, also just finished a 1958 album called Electrosonic by the Electrosonics, basically made with oscillators, wow, what fun and next, Electric Cafe by Kraftwerk, gotta have music, bob

"Well , . hmm although , it doesnt have the Sony Quality mic preamps , certain functonailty is appealing , the Overdubbing is cool ,( but it is some thing an MTR person would really have to get a knack for ) I harken back to the days , of when we got ideas down using two small tape decks and a mixer , You remember the little shoebox style tape recorders from the late 60's , early 70's" Do I ever remeber, even did my own version of frippertronics, although I thought it was my own invention, didn't hear abot King crimson till later. Wish I still had those tapes, some very neat stuff from a non-instrumentalist, where would I be If I kept that up?? Thanks for the memory trip, and have fun with your new toy Bob

Thanks for clearing that up Bob

2 years down the road it's probably long gone, try amazon or ebay, or check newer listings, Bob

Why I was wondering, unless the European D"s are different, is, my 600D only has a USB. I understood that the regular 600's had a line in, no mic. His spec sheet show's linw in/optical. but picture shows a D. curiouser and curiouser Bob

You can use the headphone as your line out, some units allow a menu change to use the headphone, if not adjust the volume up to a comfortable level. Have fun Bob

Hi There, The posting seems to point to a 600, but the picture is a 600D, two vastly different machines! For all of us, which is it, a 600, or a 600D Thanks, Bob

got a cheap sandisk for my wife, has a mic for voice, don't know the quality, may work for you. SU thought MD's were too complicated, oh well!! Bob -
but you won't notice a difference on transcoded MP3's. Truest fidelity will be in direct recordings, but let your ears be your guide Bob

"You actually OWN the Caymans dont ya!!!!!" It was to be our little secret, now the whole world knows!! I'll have to move, change my identity again!! jeez, just as I was getting used to this persona!! JJ Bob -
I would say bang for buck your best bet would be an NH-700 or 800, will still do SP if need, and will bring you to a new level. If you really want to get going get the RH1 or M200. You can check our classified to see what some of us have for sale, or look through ebay, amazon, etc. Good luck Bob

Hey Rich, Happy big one, make it a good one, and thanks for all your input on the board, Bob

nice, good way to get free power Bob

roughly speaking you knock off two zeros in the price, 6400 yen would be around 64 dollars. close enough for comparison shopping. Bob

could be a format error, write protect could be on on the disc, or you could be trying to put a longer track than the dis.As in the previous post, what version of SS r u using?? Bob
-
What version os SS are you using? It should be at minimum 3.4, if not 4.2 or 4.3 if you are on Vista. When you get to transfer there is a small square that gives you tranfer settings, if not go to properties, and set from there. Bob Also realize that with the 707 it is a one way street, you will not be able to go back to the puter with your file, you can check it back in, but it won't upload
