  1. Sonicstage 3.4 and up will do it no problem, but you will need an RH1 or M200. Two problems with your machine, one, it's a downloader, and two, until the advent of HI-MD, USD was a one way street. The other option is recording in real time through your sound card. Good Luck, Bob
  2. This guy must be Rube Goldberg's nephew or cousin or something, neat unit he made, Bob

    DAT Recorder

Just did a test run on my new to me TASCAM Da 30 MK11 from my puter to DAT unit, works like a charm, not a bad $70.00 spent, looks sharp too Bob
  9. looks good, any chance of a video?? thanks, Bob
  10. Not from there, but if I were me I'd start by looking for a Sony repair centre, and go from there, Good luck, Bob
  11. Hello to my TASCAM DA 30 MK.11 Dat recorder, just got it today, powered it uo (EBAY ad says it powers up and everything works!), got a couple of error messages, tape tray wouldn't come out, made noises, took the cover off, found a tape inside that wouldn't eject. Swore at the EBAY and similar GODS for geting a POS, tried a few trick up my sleeve, no eject, no manual with unit to see if I'm doing something wrong, seemed to have something keeping the mechanism from coming all the way up, looked closer, and saw part of the tray was movable, moved it forward, voila, eject. Now to try and figure the unit out, tried a recording, gauge moved, but no tape movement, playing with it this afternoon, what a beautiful piece of equipment. Bob
  12. Try cleaning the contacts on the remotes, and in the machine, the contacts should be shiny, a pin or needle used gingerly should work. Good luck Bob
  13. Glad you like it, let us know how it progresses Bob
  14. What are you really trying to do. What minidisc are you using, what files do you wan to play or record? Give us a little more information, we'll ee what we can do Bob
  15. Hi TC, That worked, very interesting, nothing mentioned in the article about the Cat Scan though!! Thanks, Bob
  16. Thanks TC, 1st one came ok, 2nd stalls for some reason, will try l8r. Take care, Bob
  17. Currently listening to a side project of Lacrimosa's head honcho Tilo Wolf, called Snakeskin, album called Music for the lost, pretty incredible album, same as Lacrimosa, but different if that makes sense! Bob
  18. absolutely incredible, I am but a wayward son with talent like that, she is sure to carry on!! Have you been sharing your Kansas records? She's what, about 11, again, absolutely incredible, she did the whole band, can she sing? Bob
  19. Unfortunately I don't have an RH1, but since they use the same digital output stage I'm sure they sound pretty much the same. Don't know if nismo still has his NH1 for sale, look in the classifieds, may be a good way to get you in,Take care, Bob
  20. back to the MP3's, as Syrius says, some low or variable bitrates don't transfer well, you could try burning a CD and using simple-burner, although I like 3.4 you could also try 4.o, or 4.2 if you happen to be on vista. Good luck, Bob
  21. The RH1 or M200 appear to be the "best", if for nothing else that you can digitally upload. If you are not concerned about your old recordings, the NH700 or 800 do a great job as well. I have made a few recordings Mic and Line with my NH1 and have been suitably impressed. Not having owned an R-50, I can only think that it is a very solid built with good ergonomics. If I were me, the RH1/M200 is the way I'd go Bob
  22. Thanks Osiris, appreciate the thought, was a quiet day, enjoyable, Bob
  23. Thanx man, sounds good, the second version sounds like you put it through a 3BX, a little punchier. Take care, Bob
  24. Don't you hate it when that happens, strange there is no roll back feature for the downgrade, can't really call it an upgrade from what you said. Sounds like TASCAM has a bit of explaining to do! Good luck, Bob
