  1. Simpleburner will give you several options, from most fidelity (small amount of songs) to maximum songs,(lower fidelity) Only your ears will tell which is the best for you, but you should get some discs as well so you can err on the side of caution when you record. If it mostly cosmetic listening in a car, or jogging etc, maximizing the amount will be ok. If you want the best sound, maximizing the fidelity is your best route. Happy trails, and welcome, Bob
  2. Hi Sebastianbj, Get hold of fraesus in the classified section a couple of months back, he has NH1 and 900's from Australia, price and shipping very attractive, ordered one in Dec, should be here any day now. Good luck, Bob
  3. The units are the same except for the OLED on the RH10, if it is worth the extra money to get it, get the 10, if not get the 910. The shipping costs from Canada aren't that bad, less than from the states, e-mail them for a quote, you may be surprised. Take care, Bob
  4. I don't know what you are using, but the mp3's that I have transcoded took virtually no extra time and sounded as good as an mp3 can sound. the choice depends on what you need, if you ever want to do live recordind, get the unit with a mic input, it will be worth it. Merry Christmas, Bob
  5. Have you tried cycling the player through all the commands ( play FF Rew, pause and stop) a few times,May have a play command that isn't being released to stop the motor and let the disc out. Back to the shitter issue, I had a shutter dislocate on my 707 and had to remove the cover to relocate the shutter. I would try the command shuffles a few times. Are you actually getting audio out of the unit while you are trying to eject? I've also had the paper label come off tapes and hang them up. If none of these work you may have to try a repudable repair shop, any Sony centres in your area?? Merry Christmas, Bob
  6. I would imagine the scroll function is the same, but dor fle=wibility go for the 800, you will not regret it. Merry Christmas, Bob
  7. If you don't jave a mac, just get a normal Hi-MD with a decent mic and you will be happy. Merry Christmas, Bob, PS the 100 is basicaly a RH10, and the 10 is a 910, if you want sexy get the oled, if not the 910 is fine
  8. You won't notice anything without them, just adds bulk to the cable,
  9. Is there a possibility the disc was put in backwards or something?? Actually sounds like the shutter mught be hanging up, can you reach in with tweezers or a long skinny screwdiver and assist it?? Again, good luck, Bob
  10. What happems if you take out all power, then reapply power and try to eject? Good luck, Bob
  11. Lets hope for 27,000 by years end. What a great year of growth for us. Bob
  12. I will be starting on Christmas eve at Pirates Point Resort with a dinner and wacky gift exchange, Christmas day will start with breakfast again at Pirates Point, visits to all our friends around the island, maybe selling a few coffees at our coffee shop that my wife and I are in the process of opening, do a few phone calls and e-mails, and then dinner at a friends in the afternoon. And it will be a White Christmas, beautiful white sand. To all my minidisc forum friends I wish the happiest of Christmas xheer, and the best on the new year. And to my non Christian friends I wish love and joy in your lives. Meery Christmas, Bob
  13. I wouldn't worry about them, the frequencies we deal with don't necessitate these clamps. Enjoy your new toy. Merry Christmas, Bob
  14. Just a note to Say that I just got some discs that I bought off Randy Cornetta today. Hurricanes delayed shipment, But Randy was great through all, would recommend anyone to deal with him. Bob
  15. With mine, it does not even recognize that there is a disc in the unit (ie, says no disc, even with a disc), but I can still set all menu items, weird. Bob
  16. I Had the problem once with an older version of SS that I had to reset, try that, don't really remember the procedure, but it's in options. Also make sure you have the newest SS Take care, Bob
  17. Hi again, Just tried on mu unit, press the menu button, use the joystick to toggle through the menu to get to what you need, then long hold to get you into the menu, and again use the joystick to toggle your values. Bob
  18. Your other alternative is to get one of the stadalone CD recorders and record from MD to CD. The HiMD's do offer the ability to upload to your computer anything you have line in or mic recorded. Thats not to shabby of an arrangement. Bob
  19. Senor Pavel, where would we bw without you? We salute you for your vision, and hope your next venture is as world encompassing. BTW Bland10000, it;s voila, not wallah, even though that's sort of how it's pronounced. Best of the season to all, Bob
  20. If I remeber right when you get to the menu option page on the unit you have to hold the menu button fortwo or three seconds to bring up the advanced option. I also belive if you set it through the remote it stays changed on the unit. Have fun, and let us know if you get the M10 and what you think of it. TTFN Bob
  21. Unfortunately it seems like your unit has expired. Like Syrius says it is probably the record head, My &)& started to do the same thing, not worth the expense of repair, maybe time to look at minidisccanada or minidisco for a good sale on first generation units. Take care, Bob
  22. I've always had good battery life from my NH-1's, sometimes 2 to 3 days of lots of listening. Would recommend a second battery though if you plan to do recording. Take care, Bob
  23. The 520 is probably a good entry level, but I would go Hi MD if I were you, 600's are really cheap at minidisccanada. Bob
  24. What an incredible machine, with the usb it looks like it could hook up with Hi-MD, wouldn't that be cool. Also going to check out the Anytunes site. TTFN Bob
