    MiniDisc vs. Mp3

As Low Volta said with Sonic Stage 3.3 you have the ability to upload recorded material into your computer, once in and coverted to wav,(again what Low Vota said) you can burn to your hearts content. Again, get a good Hi-MD, you will be happy, don't worry (song there somewhere if so inclined) Welcome to the machine, Bob
  2. First one is on the house Will be happy to see any and all Bob
  3. Been in contact with Banjo, he sent his Tuesday, I sent mine today, great idea, love hearing new music. TTFN Bob
  4. Not sure about "in the Dutch sense" but we sell coffee, tea, cappucino. Latte, espresso and Cuban coffe, as well my wife makes her own ice cream, and different baked goods. Will try to get a couple of pictures up in the next few days. Take care and thanks, Bob
  5. Thanks, appreciate it Take care, Bob
  6. Do you have a chance to check out the music scene in Paris, any chances of recording anything?? Happy new year to you, Bob
  7. If you count a 707 that likes to erase, but plays back pre-recorded MD's then I have four, one NH1 is a paperweight, one is of to repairland, and just got the thord today from Australia. Hopefully third tme lucky, will probably be looking for a player in the later part of the year. Take care all, Bob
  8. Hello to my Third NH1!!! second on is off to the repair shop, hopefully it is reairable, number three is one of the Australian units by way off Fraesus and one of his ads in classifies, took a while to get here, package is pretty impressive, got spare parts, cables etc. Also hello to a coffee shop my wife and I just opened here on Little Cayman, life is good TTFN Bob
  9. Happy day has arrived, again a big plus for Fraesus, he was in costant contact, would not hesitate to recommend him, package is quite nice, glad to be back in the game. Bob
  10. You need a M10 or M100, or you upload in real time like the good old days. Bob
  11. Try Sonic Stage 3.3, there are a few improvements, Have fun Bob BTW, I,ve seen a lot of bad software since 3.1, and most of itis from m/soft, ss if far from the worst Try SS or Simple Burner to download CD's, and upload your live shows and you will see it's strengths. Welcome, Bob
  12. Try pushing the scroll wheel and see what comes up. Take care, Bob
  13. I could be wrong, but I seem to think on a real long connect a small degree of charging took place on my NH 1's, will try again when my new one comes in TTFN Bob
  14. Your best bet may be the N1 or first generation Hi-MD, they allow direct recording from your unit, the second generation allows recording from Sonic stage which is probably what you will need anyway since all your tune are on the computer, Have fun, Bob
  15. You can disable the quick start, but what are you saving by pulling the battery, these units have great battery life, if it is an issue, find another battery for spare, enjoy your NH1, and welcome to our world. Bob
  16. Have a great one, I will be helping a friend here with fireworks here tonight, hope 2006 is a great one for all Bob
  17. About 85 degrees F, calm sea, just another day in paradise Happy new year to all Bob
  18. Too right, hopefully he tries and finds out for himself Bob
  19. Wonder if any other "Companies" (no names mentioned, one implied) are listeing/reading. Pretty impressive. Bob
  20. Try going down a few spaces to the headphone forum, mucho going on. Hope you're enjoying the 10 Bob
  21. 1st generation players and recorders play mp3's just fine, they are trancoded though. If it is so important that you don't want transcoding, get a second generation,. but remember there is life beyond mp3, and that is the strength of minidisc. Bob
  22. Your ears are the ultimate quide, record the same song at different bitrates and listen through good headphones, if you can't hear, or hear very little difference, use the lower bitrates,if you hear big differences use higher bitrates. With the prices of 80 and 74 minute discs being fairly low, and shopping around 1 gig discs as well get a few discs, and happy recordind, Bob
  23. The Li-ion in my NH1 is 370 MA, so the 700 ma should charge ok, the Sony unit I have is 800 ma. The 1000 ma could concievably charge a little faster, or more completely.. U should have my new unit this week from a second party in Australia, interested to see what the bundle looks like. Take care, Bob
  24. Just a slight niggle, you say you want the best sound quality, then you say you want lots of bass??? Try listening to good music flat with good headphones, then tweak slightly, you might be surprised at what you are missing. That being said the NH1 theoretically has the best "quality", but ultimately your ears are the judge. Take care, Bob
