  1. I usually find an energetic goth or trance site, no names in particular, but usually something with a high bitrate. Bob
  2. Thanks Volta, think I'm going to get lost tonite Bob
  3. You could run SS with a windows emulator in OSX, I've heard it's slow though, or record realtime, did that for many years before computers. Hope you find a solution becuse you will love MD's, Bob
  4. Go with the 600, or try and get some more money nd get a unit with mic in. The problem with a small disc like the 8 cm disc is that they are unprotected and scratch very easily. Go with hi-md, try tge Australia site, some great bargains there.
  5. As has been said sound is subjective, but remember mp3 is not a fidelity medium, if you push the bit rates high enough it may "sound" good, thewn you may as well record the cd. From my experi3nce of the NH1 and 707, as well as a few ipods ans archos, Sony "sounds the better of them all, but the others fool you with a bit more volume. At the end of it all let your ears be your guide, if possible get some recordings you are familiar with, and transfer to a few units. Use the same head/earphones on each unit, and try to keep the volume the same, Have fun, Bob

Thanx, can't wait to see your places, Bob
  7. it's free, not worthless, there is a difference you know, works better than a lot of other stuff out there.
  8. Stick with MD, it's the only viable alternative
  9. The site should tell you what the unit comes with, e-mail them and ask, they are very helpful. Hope you like your unit.
  10. All that is needed is to look at the forums, but in a nutshell, yes at all means upgrade, it is far superior to 2.0, especially if you upgrade your unit. If you can do live recordingd, the ability to upload is worth it's price alone. Go for it, treat yourself, alway look on the sunny side of life, Bob
  11. Hi Sefu, PM'ed you, realize you are extarordinarily busy, but do you have an easy wasy through your menu to ship to the Cayman Islands?? With my luck I'd be the only one ordering, any ideas?? Thanx, Bob
  12. Manfre Mann's Earthe Band-Angel Station Amon Duul11-Almost Alive....and doing fine Deep Purple-Best of Deep Purple The History of the Jams AKA The Timelords, got it set on shuffle, so I get a neet mix
  13. You can upload, but it has to be in real time from the lineout to line in. Bob
  14. Have you tried going right to Denon?? Good luck, Bob

    Going Overseas!

As far as I remeber, there are no new parts of Venice or Florence. I do seem to remeber some electronics shops fairly close to St. Marks square area Happy trails, Bob
  17. transcoded mp3's sound just fine in first generations, remember mp3 is not a fidelity mode, if you want the best sound go right off the cd, otherwise it is a very easy job to get mp3 onto your unit, and the disc will play in a second generation unit, it will be in Atrac not mp3. You will still also have the mp3's on your puter if you want to do something else with them jmho Bob

    Low-End Hi-MD?

Eith the price difference between units if I were me I would go after the 900, it would fit your needs very well. Actual I am me, and for myself I will be getting another NH1, and possibly a 900, can't lose at those prices, and the Australian dollar is at 70 cents to the Cayman dollar right now. Happy hunting

If you go slightly southwest of The Bight you will see a small cyl de sac with2 big lots and one long thin lot, that is mine, it is a very small island with low satellite priority, so you can't get very close (1 mile by 10 miles) and about 130 people, just went to your house, will have to ask my wife if she knows you or your family, she lived in Sydney in the 70's. Take care my friend

Has anyone else had as much fun as I have with the GoogleEarth program? You can zoom in virtually anywhere, zoomed in on my parents house in Edmonton Alberta, went to some of my favorite places in Havanna, and zoomed fairly close to my house in Little Cyman. I'm at: 19'40"30.88 N, 80'03"40.46W, where are you? Have fun, Bob
  22. Thanks for the input Ben, and welcome to the forum. TTFN Bob
  23. Like Geprge Burns once said, the first 100 years is the hardest, the rest should be easy..
  24. Personally I would go NH1, or NH900, 800 not a bad choice either. Happy trails, Bob
  25. Just finished listening to new Kate Bush single, King of the mountain, good to have her back. Next up, Pyragony X by Amon Duul 11
