Did those people at PausePlayStop went belly up?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
It's been 10 days, no1 reply, several long distance phone calls were made, very sickening service, I assume they don't need any business during christmas time? No1 answer during normal business hr. Did any1 manage to successfully make contact w/ these people? -
What happens to that web site PausePlayStop or so called mini disc canada? Are they still around? As no1 answers the phone or emails for many days?

Jim, I found that thread. It's the user "This Sucks" that told me the trick. You were on that thread as well. I can take a photo next time I hop over here. But it's exactly as per what "This Sucks" said. I use a knife to cut out the very top, that originally c/w a white paper top at the +ve terminal, and I also cut out the plastic wrap at the very top. There is no trick to it. It simply works And that's not all, my other 2 older batteries purchased May 2010 that I thought is toasted, I did the same thing above, 1 of 2 now charging much longer than before, and it's fully functional, the other 1 is indeed dead.

I had the same problem, and I post it here. But for whatever reason, some1 deleted that thread as I can't find it, and there is surprisingly no search button in this forum. The person who helped me out on this told me simply to use a knife to cut out the top part of the plastic wrapping, as the sony charger try to protect its own brand name battery by detecting the battery is a genuine sony or not. So once I cut out the plastic wrapping, the charger can charge my battery for 3.5 hr. or so, and I have no problem since I wish I can find that thread, but without a search button there is nothing I can do

Is Sony still selling Hi-MD Mini Disc media
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
Gentlemen, are they still made in Japan though? I don't want some Sony Mini disc, that is made in China. -
I can't believe it. That's it. That little bit of plastic at the top is all the trick there is. Now it's charging. Thank you very much
-
No, he has two way to sell that item. He go w/ $6.99 or so w/ shipping included, or $1 +5.99 shipping, same difference. that's strange. First of all, when you click the above link, and that guy's feedback, he has 111 negative feedback just in past 30 days, and 371 negative feedbacks in past 6 mth. I think it's the same guy. They use more than 1 login ID. IF I see my guys' rating, in which a no. of other buyers ALSO said their batteries doesn't work, I won't even buy it from him and the funny thing is, when the item arrives, I did give him a +ve rating, as I never expect the battery to fail. ========== When your battery arrives, is it at least partly charge, as I don't expect the battery to be totally drained. As I connect any of the 4 battery to the CD player, totally dead

Is Sony still selling Hi-MD Mini Disc media
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
is these mini disc media still made in Japan? Also, is this forum now own by Sony? As this forum software is quite poor compares to the old one And what about those mini disc media w/ this packaging: Are they also made in JApan? http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-1GB-Hi-MD-HiMD-Blank-Mini-Disc-MiniDisc-x5-New_W0QQitemZ260647867185QQcategoryZ67342QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D390272002879%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6518765295785712650 -
spelling error, I just heard of that "brand" name this morning--vapex tech

http://cgi.ebay.com/NH-14WM-Chewing-Gum-Battery-SONY-MD-MZ-N1-N10-N510-/320612789013?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4aa602eb15 I bought this brand Pisen, totally useless, I bought 4, 4 out of 4 does not work. The sony charger won't charge the battery or recognize the battery I need a few NH-14WM batteries. The Pisen & the VapexTech batteries are both made in China. So as of now, I don't know what to do. I can buy VapexTech, but the dealer told me this: For your information, the manufacturer have the following advice or recommendation:- If you are using the batteries within the CD Player or ipod or mp3 ..etc, the build-in charger does not charge the batteries properly. The Built-In Charger in the cd-player or ipod cannot detect the batteries properly. They does not work or charge the batteries fully. Please charge the batteries with a regular NIMH or NiCD batteries charger. There will be no problems to charge with AA or AAA regular batteries Charger to charge this 1450M batteries. - vapextech_batteries =================================== so it sounds like I need to buy a charger. But if I buy 4 battery and a charger, I can get a new Sony CD player for $39, except that CD player is thick, my CD player, which plays fine, is very thin. For those who bought vaportech, how many of you have to buy a separate charger? Or does it charge with the build in charger from Sony? And does the battery work 1 way or the other?

I went to Sony.com, the Sony Hi MD media says unavailable. Further, what happens to this forum? I haven't been here for a while, but I'm w/ minidisc.org, how come it ends up here?
-
okay, supposedly, when I press Menu select Option there should be a Clock Set option. It's not there, all I see is: menu mode, disc mode, quickmode, disk mem, beep, avls there is a few things missing. How can that be? my menu mode is set to advance

I notice some very good prices of Sony 2X BD-R 50 GB, 5 pack at Amazon.co.jp As well as Taiyo Yuden CD-R, also very good price from Amazon.co.jp. Do we have any members here who sells the above from Japan?
-
my problem w/ the stick remote is that as I advance from 1 song to another, it doesn't work. Say I am at song 1, and I want to go to Song 10. I should be able to push the advance forward button 9 times. Well the remot take me to 2, 3, 4 and somewhere down the road, it loop me back to 1, instead of going to song no. 10. So all these time, I thought the NH1 doesn't work w/ the stick remote.

Is a cheap LIP-4WM battery likely to be genuine
Happy Hopping replied to Hungerdunger's topic in Minidisc
So in the end, what's a good place to order? I need LIP-4WM as well as NH-14WM, I would like to get them both at the same place. Having said that, I own an original SOny CD discman, the battery c/w the unit, sealed by Sony. There is green mole coming out of the battery. And the discman is only a few yr. old. By comparison, the older discman from Sony, their NiMH battery is still fine -
Is there a better remote than this RM-MC40ELK 3 line display. I'm using the NH1 If there isn't a better one, where would be a good place to buy this? I saw a guy at ebay sells this, now I can't find him. I am also hoping to get the LIP-4WM battery, as well as NH-14WM from 1 source to save shipping. Any idea?

Looking for dust proof plastic storage case
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
After 3 mth of search, the top link that has a blue/black desktop storage case still is nowhere to be found. Ebay doesn't have it, and noone seems to sell it. How can someone this simple not be available? -
http://www.minidisco.com/Accessories/Cases-Storage the above link used to have these blue color casing, but they stop selling them. Is there anyone who knows a few sources on dust proof MD casing?

http://money.cnn.com/2005/10/27/news/inter....reut/index.htm with earning this good, they better continue to research, and at the very least, support Hi MD
-
I have a quick question: Let's assume some other co. will buy out the technology of MD from sony 6 - 7 yr. from now, or some time in the future. In the mean time, what do we have to do to conserve the ongoing recording of HiMD? 1) Do we need to stock up blank HiMD? Is the media being discontinue? 2) Would you stock an extra Li Ion battery or a spare remote? 3) Would you even buy a spare HiMD?

I have this problem on ver. 3, I guess I don't have to download 3.2 then.
