Yes, the Hello Kitty players are Victor units with the HK logo. We don't see them in retail shops here, only online. The 60 usd is a bargain.
-
Yeah, not as thin as the EH1 nor eh70. We both have the 10d in common so here is a shot of the ends as the bend in the 10 makes the sides more difficult to compare photowise... The 50 is a bit slimmer and noticeably lighter.

Tiesto, the player is Ni-MH, not AA. Yes, the body is hard plastic but I'm more concerned with the amp than the body. Jaylen, ironic that you say "King". I use to walk past figurine stores without a second thought 'til one day I got the urge to see if there was a figurine of Elvis. Didn't find one that day, a few years and few hundred figurines later, I still haven't found one of the King. They are available on the net but that takes the joy out of the search.

This is the only color of the colors available of the EH50 that comes with a black remote, the rm-mc38el. The carry pouch is the same as what comes with the white and blue model; the pouch for the pink model has a pink band on the bottom instead of grey. Like the other models, the earbuds are white with color coordinated trim.

Is my _new_ ebay RM-MC40ELK remote backlight broken?
bland10000 replied to peterkar's topic in Minidisc
There is no backlight option on the 800 because the screen does not have a backlight; it has no bearing on the remote. -
As I still by use and legacy gear I can give you my reasons. I have a deck that only records SP and another deck that records MDLP. I use these for taping off the radio. Sure, I can listen to those while out-and-about using hi-md players but I like the longer battery-life from legacy players. I also have a car stereo in storage that plays MDLP and there are no in-car hi-md players. To make a disc for the road, I've got to use the legacy mode. The school I work at has a language-lab that runs on MDLP and our classrooms have players that are MDLP. For compatibility between lesson examples I make at home and use in class, hi-md won't work. All hi-md units have the same two amps, the d-amp or the hd-amp. I enjoy switching between amps; Sharp, Sony, Kenwood, Panasonic, Victor, with Sharp's Auvi being my favorite. Since Auvi isn't available in a hi-md unit, I'll continue to use legacy. Compatibility with others: I trade about two discs a week with students, especially guitar players as I have alot of heavy metal. The kids make their discs on their home systems which are MDLP so I need to make the disc for them in the same format. Style-wise, legacy has a greater assortment to choose from.

Good, cheap portable CD player with digital/optical out?
bland10000 replied to WaywardTraveller's topic in Live Recording
The Panasonic seems to be your best deal as you are looking for a temporary digi-out while travelling. 85 cad / 75 usd / 9,000 en / seems a fair price for player with a digi-out. If you think you can bargain for less then do. Perhaps you will want to have an ace in pocket by knowing a second source that has the same player for the same price so you have a bit of leverage. -

WT, did you find a player? -
Until Victor or Kenwood release new models, this is the last pink unit available at stores in Japan... My one complaint about Kenwood portables has been that the remote had no clip on the body, rather it was a clip that was attachable to the remote wire... The V-series remedies my complaint by providing a remote with clip... The expected playback for SP is 43 hours from the 14wm cell and the EQ has eight settings. Like all Kenwood players, it is four-pole from the headphone-out but converted to three-pole going through the remote.

What is the part/serial number for the Sony replacement?

I didn't read the disc cover thoroughly...lol. I saw "Pro" rather than "TDK" or "Axia".
-
Is this TDK Pro the same series or different?

Sharp MD Walkman MD-DS70-B Pictorial
bland10000 replied to Ishiyoshi's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Oh, that has the same blue-speckled coating as the dr80. -
Nicely said.
-
The remote looks like a com-link; maybe to contact the Death Star. Is it a three or six step bass?
-
Equitable to Sony's hd-amp with the low sound floor and clear like a Kenwood. Keep in mind describing sound is...well it is just not quantifiable.
-
This thing is so darn reflective... The Victor units have a quick-charge ability, this requires them to use a 6V wall adapter for the Ni-MH cell rather than the standard 3V adapter. With the quick-charge, you get approximately 15 hours playback with a 20 minute sitting. Of course, that is 15 hours for LP4 and I'm an SP guy so about 3 hours for the 20 minutes. It boasts that it has 305 hour maximum playback with internal cell and external add-on assuming you listen to LP4. This is the longest of current run models but a former model, XM-C31, can do 318 hours.

The difference between the analog amps, used in units up to 2002, and the digital amps, used in units after the analog amp, is the amount of electricity it draws. The difference between the digital amp and the hd-digital amp has to do with sound.

WT, Are you seeing only hi-md units or do any of the stores have legacy units available?
-
I was surprised how young Glay members look on the disc-inserts from only ten years ago. They have a new single and video out and they look 20 years older. I like the nimai carry pack, I haven't seen anything similiar; only the 5-pack holder.
-
and a couple of players from that era, too; the e620 and e720 both will display two-line info.
-
Both units you picked, Sharp 55 and Pana 100, are player-only units. Sharp has only one NetMD recorder, IM-DR80. Sony has the MZ-N920. They also had the Psych series which may all be download-only units. The mz-n420d is still available via Amazon.

Sony MD Walkman MZ-E10 Pictorial
bland10000 replied to Ishiyoshi's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
The plug on the cord may be 2.5 but looking at the first two pictures of the unit and the adapter cord, the headphone jack on the unit is a flattish design. -

ditto I had no idea it required a headphone adapter. Now that I look back at the top two pictures, I see... -
Just tried it and got in. I've had that problem occur when I use Opera but never Firefox.
