  1. Finally found some of the new Maxell's with metal shutters. These are the Coulers... these are the Twinkles... These aren't Maxells but a new set I found at the hyaku en store...
  2. If it makes you feel any better, you didn't get bent over by those guys; you bent over voluntarily because you didn't do your research on the limitations of net-md before you made your purchase. You can record the music to your pc via real-time by using programs such as Audacity, enter the word into the search and you'll find several threads talking about it. You can also transfer the music up using the newest recorder, MZ-RH1, but why buy a new recorder if you just bought an MP3 player...
  3. Didn't know what those numbers meant when I read them in spec. sheets; now I do.
  4. He purchased a pack of discs through me and the emails and transaction were quick and succinct.
  5. I agree that the logo on the pink, always my favorite color for a player or recorder, isn't enough of a contrast to the unit. Blue and silver get the best logo contrasts and silver has the black remote.
  6. There is a sale on the EH50 at the Don Quixote store near my home so I purchased a white player to accompany my pink player.
  7. From left, the line on the bottom says "analog". 左 is hidari, left…右 is migi, right 入力 is nyuuryoku, line-in….出力 shutsuryoku, line-out Second box from left, the line on the bottom says "digital" The line above, says optical

    BLARGH!

To accept a Visa card requires a subscription to a service that typically charges 20.00 usd a month while paypal can be a one-time only deal.
  9. You can find them for approximately 40.00 usd on e-bay. To make the search easier type in rm-mc33el.
  10. The Coulers remind me of the Kenwood DMC-V33 series player.
  11. Last weekend was a three day holiday in Japan and the high school I work at used that time to install MD as our primary medium for the language lab. This is the main setup with the MD control panel on the right... This is the main panel for running the md equipment... These are the desks where the students sit; notice the control panels--two per desk... The control panel that the students use. Yes as Overlord of the lab I can override their commands... Looking at the underside of the desks where the md drives are located... A close-up of the MD drive under the desk...
  12. Since your device is netmd, you can also use RealPlayer. You have to have SS installed then install RP and the device driver from RP's list.
  13. Aye Alfie, over the weekend I dropped by Yodobashi and Yodobashi Outlet in Kawasaki and only saw 10 packs; same as in Yokohama and Akiba. I did find 5-packs at the Shinjuku Bic Camera. Go out the north exit and turn right. About 50 meters past the exit is the Odakyu building and Bic Camera is on the third floor. They have five and ten packs in 74 and 80 minute discs.
  14. I use my hmd1 for transferring music to and from discs and for uploading the rare photo I take using the dh10p. It saves the wear-n-tear on more expensive recorders. I don't find it convenient for transporting files between locations as that requires a hi-md reader at both places or for me to bring the reader along; USB keys are much more convenient for that purpose. No, I do not believe they will release another data drive.
  15. There shouldn't be any problem with bandwidth, I've got them on the server for my website. I'll also pick up a photographers tent today and ratake the pictures to see if it helps to minimize reflection.
  16. (content moved to first post)
  17. That article is four years old; look at the end of the first paragraph "Sony will promote their netMD product line...". Sony and Real went their separate ways in 2004.
  18. "power cable" is a bit vague...are you talking about the USB cable or the 6v wall charger?
  19. Aye, Rich, congrats. Your help when I first bought into hi-md saved me time and stress trying to figure out the unit options and 40elk remote. Glad to see you in the Mod-squad.

    MZ-N10 problem

yes, you are right MBM, switching the battery off does completely remove it from the circuit...just did it and now I have to reset the internal clock. Since Mavame mentioned he had done that already I did not want him to think that taking the case apart to remove the cell would be any different. Spose I could have worded it different...
  21. The cable doesn't charge the dh10p; I just tried it out on the 10p using the cables that came with it and the cable that came with the n10.

    MZ-N10 problem

The n10 cell, lip-3wm, is internal so pulling it out requires opening the machine instead of just a battery door, Mavame, when you loaded the 1.5 SS software did you have your unit connected to the computer via USB?
  23. The e810 is no longer in production so your method should work with this unit.
  24. the mz-e630 and e730 are both manufactured in China while the mz-eh50 and eh70 are manufactured in Malaysia. I have a two-year old n920 that is made in Japan but last year Sony announced that the last factory in Japan to manufacture MD was ceasing production. Sony is still producing n920's; I'll have to take a look and see where they are listed as being manufactured. Kenwoods latest releases were marked as made in Japan...
  25. the sub menu line says "select method of kanji"
